  1. I live 1 hour plus from the nearest VA hospital. I've had 2 separate visits to the local ER. They have sent the bill to VA ADMIN, but it seems the VA is not paying them. I have even called numerous times to the Seattle regional office, last info they gave me was they have received some ER visit bills. My question is why do I receive bills that have unpaid balances even after they send them to VA ADMIN? Am I doing something wrong? Should I make payments? I'm so lost when it come to this, every time I speak with a VA rep they confuse me even more or they just flat out do not know what to say. Help please!
  2. My SSDI is the same as my SC disabilities. It is very scary that one person doing a review on me one time could result in a crushing financial blow. IT's very upsetting and very hard to believe that these systems don't work together at some points. I am a young vet, that keeps a very good appearance. So it is nerve wrecking that some joker from SSDI that knows little to nothing about my conditions could say I'm fine. Then make me get a lawyer and win the appeal. All while losing my credit, my house in the meantime. Then getting back pay only to have the snake of a lawyer taking 25% of it! Our systems need some serious help.
  3. I'm 70% TDIU P&T with no further reviews. I was granted SSDI before I was granted TDIU P&T. Now my question is; I have a review for my SSDI.. How does this work? Do I tell them I'm now 100% Permanent & Total (PTSD) and that I cannot not work period? Now I'm back in the stage once again where I'm freaking out that I can lose my SSDI which would be devastating! Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks all!
  4. I should have been more specific. I got out of the Army Feb 2008 filed right away. Was awarded 70%. Then later I lost my civilian job Jan 2013. I filed for TDIU Feb 2014. I was awarded TDIU P&T March 2015. My Effective date was back dated to the day after I lost my job Jan 2013. I don't know if it was a mistake or what the regs are, that's why I'm sharing this info.
  5. This really is more just FYI.. I've read a lot of people saying that your effective date or retro date will be the date you filled.. Or the second of the two. (intent to file) (filed) I just want to say that that did not happen in my case. The VA back paid and gave me an effective date year and a half before I filled for and increase to be unemployable IU. So either I just got lucky or there is a way to be retro paid before your actual filling date. Basically I got an effective date the day after I lost my job due to my service connected conditions.
  6. Choice told me they will not do dental.. So I just drove the 2 hours to the American lake VA Dental clinic. They are only 2 months out for apts. With the option of emergency visits via first come first serve. Also some lady from the Seattle VA said they were out of funds to do any kind of out sourcing.
  7. Awesome! I will call Monday. I live about 2 hours away from the nearest VA in Seattle. This makes me very happy! Thank you very much Buck!
  8. I can't seem to figure out how or where to go to get some much needed dental work done. I can't find any numbers to call. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Thank you so much for this information Berta! Glen got everything squared away and was super nice and helpful!
  10. So what I've found out is as follows; - Make sure you have if any, divorce decree's (certified) as DEER's system can be as old as dirt! Spouses birth certificate/S.S. card/Certified marriage certificate and you can go to any local pass/Id center any branch of service. Make an apt it will relieve the walk in stress. -CHAMPVA enrollment T- 1month make sure all paperwork is included with the Form 10-10d. Your spouse signs the bottom not you. I.E. Past divorce decree's. Spouses Birth certificate (English only) Marriage certificate. I copied Social Security card too. Your Award paperwork. If any emergency should arrive during the enrollment time period you will be reimbursed. -Ebenefits... Well who's knows it has a mind of it's own! ----As far as past Federal student loans from your spouse I've yet to figure that out. I'm assuming no.
  11. Hi everyone, Just got married and have questions... How to obtain her ID card? I sent out the paperwork for CHAMPVA.. How long does that take? My wife is pregnant. I did the Ebenefits add dependent.. It says decision notification letter sent.. Why doesn't it say she is on my award? But shows she has been added. Also would they cover her past federal student loans? Any help would be great.
  12. I'm not really sure what to do. I can't seem to get straight answers on how to set all this up. We are moving from Hawaii to Washington St. And my 8 week pregnant fiancé has to quit her job. So she will be without health care. We are not getting married tell Aug 7th. I'm afraid that the Champva is going to take to long to come in effect. She has all ready had some minor issues that ended us up in the ER. Does anybody know the timelines on updating my status to married? And getting all this stuff squared away so we don't rack up a ton of ER bills. Most importantly making sure she and the baby are in good standing. This is our first child and I'm scared with how long the VA will take. Also could I take her to the VA hospital before we are married if need be? I'm 100% P&T. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Mahalo:)
