Home Depot and Lowes 10% Military Discount Available Everyday Home Depot and Lowe’s have long been known to offer a 10% holiday discount to military members and their families, and in many cases veterans and retirees. These promotions were usually limited to the main military holidays such as Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Veterans Day. Well, no longer – both companies have just announced these offers are available every day of the week! Additionally, you may be able to find discounts online at Lowes.com and savings at HomeDepot.com. Military Discount Eligibility: Please read the discount information closely, as these discounts may or may not be available to all military veterans on a daily basis. Home Depot 10% Military Discount Where one goes the other will follow. Home Depot and Lowe’s are notorious for attempting to undercut their competition, and it is easy to use their deals against each other – try it, just go into a Lowe’s or Home Depot with the flier from the other store and you can almost always get a price match. The Home Depot 10% military discount was also originally focused on the major veterans holidays, but they followed Lowe’s lead. Again, you should expect to have a proper military ID and except certain limitations on dollar values, online shopping and more. But it’s still a great deal! Home Depot Military Discount Policy Some military members and veterans have reported not being able to receive a 10% discount when shopping at Home Depot. I have seen multiple instances where Home Depot advertises the discount, but they don’t officially have the discount listed on their website. An online customer service rep recently gave me this information about Home Depot military discounts: Advertisement - Continues Below The Home Depot offers a year-round, 10 percent discount, up to a $500 maximum, at our U.S. stores to all active duty military personnel, reservists, retired or disabled veterans and their immediate families. We offer this discount to thank them for their outstanding service to this nation and to help make their homes more comfortable and safe. Customers requesting the discount should present a valid military ID. In addition, a 10 percent discount is also offered in recognition of Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day and Veterans Day at all U.S. Home Depot stores for all other military veterans. (source) I also contacted a Home Depot customer service rep online and she gave me this response: We proudly offer Active and Veteran military a 10% discount on their online or in store purchases. Please contact Online Customer Care at 1-800-430-3376 and place your online order over the phone for a immediate discount or bring your ID to your local Home Depot. However, this may not be used in combination with any other sale prices or discounts. This was the first mention I had heard of being able to receive a military discount online, but it’s worth trying to contact Online Customer Care to see if you can get the discount. Other people have mentioned not being able to receive the discount for in-store purchases. Apparently it often comes down to manager approval, so it is most likely on a store by store basis. Please share your experiences below.

Home Depot Per my communication with the Home Depot’s customer care department, “We offer a 10 percent discount, up to a $500 maximum, to all active, reserve, retired or disabled veterans and their family members with a valid military ID. All other military veterans qualify for a 10 percent discount during Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Independence Day.” Read more: http://paycheck-chronicles.military.com/2012/01/22/lowes-and-home-depot-revisited/#ixzz2jyRCcIvg The Paycheck Chronicles

What Exactly Do Service Officer Do For Vets?
vet12 replied to 63SIERRA's question in Entitlement - Veterans Compensation Benefits Claims
When I first filed in 2003 I joined the DAV for life. I felt I needed too. After a few years of appeals, I spoke with a SO on the state level. He told me to drop it and talk to my congressman. When I disagreed he started cussing at me. I complained to Headquarters in DC for DAV. Later I was told the SO was no longer there. Anyway my lawyer has won the claim at the court level. Now waiting on appeal. vet12 -
My condolences. Rest in peace. vet12

I read an article on the internet this morning that said unknown because of what you said. However they stated 1.5% looked about right. vet12

I Had My Hearing - Ugh!
vet12 replied to free_spirit_etc's question in VA Disability Claims Research
Free, The claim that I had a VSO for; I started sending evidence to the VA and the VSO also. After awhile I only dealt with the VA only. After many denials I could only hire an attorney or forget about my claim so I hired an attorney. They won my court case and I'm waiting to see what disabilities they approve now. I'm not sure if I followed the proper protocal or not. I filed two claims on my own and won those two. I wish you the best. It's hard enough fighting for our benefits without having to fight with additional people. vet12 -
I Had My Hearing - Ugh!
vet12 replied to free_spirit_etc's question in VA Disability Claims Research
Free, Sorry to hear of your bad experience. When I had my hearing, the VSA showed up 10 minutes prior to the hearing. We talked and he shot down everything I said. I did say what I wanted to the judge anyway. I now have a lawyer representing me. What disabilities I have approved so far was a results of my hard work without help from a VSO. I'm sure VSOs have helped a lot of vets but my experience wasn't good. My claim is my responsibility. vet12 -
Big congrats. vet12

vet12 replied to rpowell01's question in Entitlement - Veterans Compensation Benefits Claims
The VA pain doctor said he would issue me a TENS unit. When I didn't receive it, I called. I was told since I was a cancer survisor I shouldn't use one. vet12 -
There Is A Light At The End Of The Tunnel
vet12 replied to 82airborne's question in PTSD Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Claims
Tbird, You made me realize I'm not the only one with, for the lack of a better term "a simple life". You have some good ideas. Thanks 82airborne, I know your feeling. My right butt cheek is my main problem. Sometimes I hurt in both cheek areas and sometimes down the legs. I'm not quite sure how you can not be angry. I have had problems over the years but this time it has been 2 years. I have tried everything and very little works. I was told to use a walking cane which does help and one of the local pools help. The VA told me to look at my age???? I have neighbors older than me who play golf everyday. Anyway I hope you find relief. I don't want to be zoned out on meds yet the pain is unbearable sometimes. Also how can you go anywhere when you can't walk from the pain? vet12 -
Congrats. I'm happy for you. vet12

What If You Can Not Get Use To Cpap Machine
vet12 replied to adkins7b's question in Eligibility - Veterans Compensation Benefit Claims
I have been using a CPAP for 6 years now. It is still a pain to use. I have headaches in the morning from it, additional wrinkers on my face, a pain to keep clean as well as the use during the night but I would not go without it. PR is right, people can die without using them. I hope you don't give up. vet12 -
Congrats! I'm happy for you. vet12
