I hope you get it and never quit thats what I did not do besides the DAV telling me to let it go. just get your stuff ready for a battle with the VA because when it comes to money the va will fight till the end. good luck my brother.

I HAVE A QUESTION, I WAS AWARD SC FOR SLEEP APNEA SECONDARY TO PTSD WHICH WAS DATED BACK TO MAY 2006 BUT IT WAS NOT RATED PERMANENT BECAUSE THEY BELIAVE THERE CAN BE AN IMPROVEMENT. BUT THE THING IS THAT IN MAY 2011 IT WILL BE SC FOR 5 YEARS, WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT THIS.

I think a while ago there was a discusion close to this topic and for what i have been told that you have to have a least one service connection 100%. A friend of mines recieaves A&A and when we went over his papers it stated that veterans haves a least one disability service connected at 100%. I am not trying to say that you are wrong but you have to remember that every regional office haves thier own way on doing things. Hopefully some of the experts on this topic will come aboard and help you. Good luck

Not to sound rude how can you claim to be paranoid but not be paranoid to play poker. I don't care what you do with your life or your money but if you can play poker it sounds to me that you are not really sick. Its a shame that thousand of veterans have to battle and struggle with the VA and Social Security to get there benefits and to keep them and here you are risking your benefits. I got a phone call tonight from a mortgage company called america mortgage investors telling me that they can rduce my interest rate from a 5.5 to 3.5 so i asked them about there company and they stated that they work with veterans that have va loans. I am going to call the va home loan department to ask them about this company. Has anybody on this site ever heard of this company or done any type of business with them. I am spectical because it sounds to good but i am also a very cautious person and do not trust alot.

It is good that you have statements from buddies but sometimes the VA does not even look at them. For one of my claims I had 3 statements from my friends that were witness to my problems and it did not matter I am not saying that it can't work for you because every rater sees things different. The best way to go is to have a doctor write an IMO connecting all your issues it worked for me and that was the only way I was able to get it service connected. Good luck on your fight.

Not to sound rude but I recommend that one you place your claim do not state that you think that this caused it because they are not going to take your opinion into consideration just because you are not a doctor your best way to approach this issue is to go see a sleep doctor and let him nexus your sleep apnea to your weight gain caused by medications to treat your PTSD, that is the way I got my OSA service connected by demostrating that one issue is affecting the other and anybody on this site will also tell the same thing. Good luck and don't give up on this claim.

So if the child recieves a check from SS for being his dependant and under age, the child can work and recieve the check from SS. I hope I am not confusing anybody.

I have a friend of mines who is diasbled and recieaves VA and SSD his child is 17 and wants to work but the child recieaves a check from ss because of his father can he work or can he not work while getting a check.

I am sorry to ask this questio but what are the regulations concernning the 5, 10 and 20 year rule.

You still have to pay the deductible regardless if you are 10% or 100%.

I do not now how the va works but I worked for IRS we had access to the internet and belieave me if you even tried to get on one of those sites they will now and you will fired on the spot, I for one do not belieave that a federal goverment employee will get on a porn site and the VA not even knowing it.

Make sure that when he writes it for your he connects it to your other issues, because the VA reads these IMO or notes very well. One wrong word can get your claim denied.

I am not trying to discourge anybody I am just stating the truth, I have been dealing with the system for many years and I now how the VA works. There are doctors that will help you because I have been lucky to have the mental doctor I have he has been very good to me and my family and has helped me with the VA. What I am trying to say is that he haves a better chance to get an IMO from a civilian DR. that a Dr. from the VA. I wish him and everybody from this site the best of luck when dealing with the VA because it is always a battle with the VA.

It took me 3 1/2 years to get it sc secondary to PTSD and that was the only way I got through my sleep doctor in the civilian world. I had sleep apnea while I was on active duty and for not going on sick call for it I had to wait. I turned statements from my wife and friends that were on active duty with me and the VA did not take the statements into consideration. Pete if you look at my statement I said that it can't happen for him to get a note. You have to remeber he is dealing with the VA and majority of VA dr. do not like to write notes.
