  1. Money was in the bank this morning!!!! Nice big fat five figure amount even after the lawyer's fee. Oh man, is this a dream!? Lol Thank you all for answering questions (even long before I actually started posting) and helping us keep our sanity some while we waited around for all of this to go through the last 6 years. I'll definitely be making a donation to HadIt.com. I sincerely wish you all the best of luck with your claims!!
  2. Just 100%. The P&T claim is still listed under pending claims but ebenefits is screwing up as usual and when I click on it to view it, there's nothing there. Last we checked it had said was in preparation for decision notification but we all know how unreliable that can be.
  3. Just an update for everyone keeping track...as of this morning, eBenefits disabilities page and AB8 letter finally shows 100% total rating. Now we're just waiting for the money to hit the bank. :)
  4. I'm medically retired from the Marine Corps. A VA rating of 30% DOES NOT necessarily mean you get a medically retired status. It must be a DoD rating of 30% or more by the MEB/PEB in order to be put on the TDRL and then medically retired if the percentage does not lessen wishing 6 months following removal from active duty or straight to the PDRL depending on the issue. That's how military medical retirement works. The VA has nothing to do with it. They are two completely separate ponies, just so you know.
  5. Ha! Nice and congrats on the forward movement!! You're so close to the end now....just waiting for that good ol' CASH MONEY! :P
  6. Well, no pay increase today. :( But, we did call the VA to ask what the system is saying and it went from "processing" the last time we called to "being finalized for notification" so I'm going to just pretend that means something is happening on it. Ha!
  7. Vassilis, Whatever happened with your increase and back pay? Did it finally hit? If so when? Did you see your pay increase before your back pay or both at the same time?
  8. Would you please updated us on when you saw everything happen? My husband had the same thing happen (BVA increase for MDD from 50 to 70% and TDIU remanded) in October and we're waiting to see his pay increase and/or backpay. I'd love to know what your timeline was as well as whatever happened with your TDIU. Thanks!
  9. My husband received his partial grant (part was remanded) from the BVA on Oct 27th. We're still waiting to see anything happen as well. Do let us know when you see either your monthly comp increase or your backpay hits. I'll also update here if we see anything. Congrats on your appeal!!
  10. Not sure. The lawyers did everything for us I guess because my husband didn't have any actual hearing involving him.
  11. Wow, congrats! Can you please provide me with more info on this (or where to find it) as I've never heard of that before?
  12. We actually never thought to claim TDIU, it was our lawyers who suggested it. Here's the timeline. Let me know if you have any other questions. June 5, 2009 -EAS Sept 3, 2009 -Made Initial Claim Aug 24, 2010 -Decision for two physical conditions awarded at 40% and 10%, SC for PTSD denied Sept 22, 2010 -Decision on two other physical conditions awarded at 60% and 10% Jul 15, 2011 -Claimed a secondary physical condition and claimed MDD (to replace PTSD claim) Feb 07, 2012 -Decision on secondary physical condition awarded at 20% Mar 26, 2012 -Decision on MDD awarded at 50% with eff date of Jul 15, 2011 Apr 9, 2012 -NOD sent for higher MDD rating and change eff date to EAS Jul 3, 2012 -De Novo Review election sent to VA Mar 15, 2014 -De Novo Review performed by VA Mar 17, 2014 -De Novo Review decision on MDD rating increased denied, change of effective date awarded and changed to EAS Apr 15, 2014 -Hired lawyer to appeal to BVA for increase MDD rating May 2, 2014 -VA Form 9 sent to BVA by lawyers Sept 23, 2014 -Lawyers sent full claim to BVA requesting MDD increase and TDIU award Oct 27, 2015 -BVA Decision received ordering MDD increase to 70% and remanding TDIU to RO Nov 20, 2015 -Notice from RO that they are working on remanded TDIU claim
  13. Ugh, I know that's right! I'm not holding my breath for either the back pay or the TDIU to be quick but it would sure be nice if at least his monthly comp would increase sooner than later.
  14. His MDD was 50%. His total Scheduler rating was 92.224 so he was at a 90% pay rate. After the increase to 70% for MDD, his Scheduler rating is 95.334 so he will be at the 100% pay rate. The TDIU was remanded due to: "In light of the grant of an increased rating claim herein, the issue of entitlement to a TDIU should be remanded to the RO. See Harris v. Derwinski, 1 Vet. App. 180, 183 (1991) (issues are "inextricably intertwined" when they are so closely tied together that a final Board decision cannot be rendered unless all issues have been considered)." So basically it sounds like the RO needs to take ALL of his service connected conditions (including ones not included in his BVA appeal) and the new rating of the 70% MDD into account to determine TDIU? We already have direct deposit set up so I know that it's just a waiting game, which is SO DAMN HARD after playing the waiting game for 6 years! lol I just hate not having any idea what is going on. C'est la VA vie, right!?
  15. Do you mean effective date of Jan 16, 2015? Was this a BVA notification you received in June? At least your monthly increase was fast, so that's awesome, especially since that jump from 90% to 100% is a big one. Did you see any change on eBenefits in June before your increase happened in July? Also curious, what did DFAS have to do and then send to the VA in August?
