  1. BTW it wasn't Mental Health records just normal back stuff.
  2. Whats pretty messed up about the whole thing is in the same office on another wall they have this big sign with all the freedom of information act on it. I even pointed out that sign and asked how can a regional office supersede the federal law written right behind them. They looked dumbfounded and agreed that my argument makes sense but still would not do anything. When I asked for my records I didn't ask specifically for my C&P results but from a specific date 2 weeks prior, knowing that they have that policy. When the office worker was pulling the file up she was going down the line on the computer saying "OK, here, here, this, oops cant report that its a C&P", they do have access to that file at the VAMC, but just kept pointing to the sign on the wall about the regional office denying that report. My next visit I will be escalting this problem through proper channels via patient advocate office and see where it goes from there. Thanks, for all the replies, and help. If anyone else in the Orlando area has an open claim see what your results would be trying to access your C&P.
  3. I recently had a C&P exam done at the Orlando VAMC and when I go to the ROI office they tell me that they are not allowed to release the C&P medical records because it is still being rated. There is a sign on the wall that says per the St. Petersburg Regional Office that they can not give out the records. Is that allowed since it is a medical record, aren't we supposed to have unlimited access per federal law to our records? Can the regional office get away with this and what should I do to get my complete records? Has anyone else run into this problem and the Orlando office? Thanks,
  4. Hello everyone, does anyone know of a good VSO rep. here in Orlando, Fl. Also does anyone know of a Vet friendly back doctor or PCP. I need a good honest IMO. I just had an appeal denied for an increase for IVDS higher than 20% and left leg radiculopathy higher than 10%. I wanted to get a good VSO also I need to get my own IMO because the C & P doctor didn't ask 95% of the questions on the spinal exam, and didn't even open my file "he had to get it delivered to him half way through the appt." I also need to know whats the best course of action to get bilateral radiculopathy added to my claim instead of just one side. My right side now is going numb after my L5-S1 fusion. Can I add it to my reconsideration or should I do a NOD and combine the reconsideration and addition of the new symptoms. Hey Rentalguy I see you also were a crew chief, and now have a bad back, I know full well as I was also a Black hawk crew chief, and fell off the tail pylon when i was coming off which I believe ultimately caused my back problems. When did you serve. I was in from 99-04. Thanks,
  5. Hi everyone I am new to this board, first post. But I have read a lot and learned a lot great information. Now my question is I am 40% SC and just had surgery through my private ins. V.A would not do the surgery to correct my s.c condition. Since I didn't go through the V.A for the surgery how do I go about getting the temp 100% rating. I already know about the hosp discharge, doctors letter, and my letter requesting the temp 100% but "WHO" or "WHERE" at the R.O. does the paperwork go to. I don't want to send all my paperwork to have it get misplaced. Do I need a specific name at the R.o. or Dept. and if its a name anyone know the name for central Fl. R.O. ? Also does anyone have a template for the letter that I need to send for the request? Thanks, Kevin
