  1. Finally had the C&P Exam. It was done is less than 15 mins....don't know what that means. Doc tested my ROM and he did a sensation test...gave me papers to go get x-rays done and said after x-rays I was done and didn't have to return. Now I really don't know what to expect considering how quick he was to get the exam done. Anyone else experience short C&P exams? What was your outcome?
  2. I just had my C&P for lower back/rhinnorrea today and I was in/out in under 15mins. The doc quickly checked ROM and sent me to get X-rays. Doc asked when it started and I was sent on my way....does that sound promising to anyone? I thought it wasn't in depth at all, has anyone else had this kind of experience?
  3. No real update other than they've been treating my back/migraines with medication. They're setting up an eye exam to see if that has anything to do with the migraines. The doctor they sent me to examined me and was amazed at how bad my physical condition was and the VA not taking any responsibility by not service connecting any of my conditions. (They told me that on an MRI I had in 2000 that I had herniated/bulged discs) I'm still waiting on some kind of update, but it's still in 'gathering evidence' stage. They have my service records now as well as chiropractic records and the records from this recent trip to the doctor. Wondering if I'll get another C&P exam scheduled as I can't find anything in my eBenefits records history about the first one I had and the medical building I had it done at has been out of business for several years. They did send an email saying they should have a decision on my claim by April 2017??? Wow...That's weird they would even set that deadline so far out...so I really don't know what to do but wait...
  4. So I had a meeting to set up my primary physical physician who is over an hours drive away (veteran's choice). Not really 'my choice', but I'm not going to cancel an appointment. It ended up having to mostly do with a tumor in my forearm rather than any examinations. I know it's early in my re-opened claim, but wondering if they'd set up another C&P exam for me or what's going on....the doctor said they were new at picking up 'veteran's choice' packets and didn't know what was going on with anything outside of the initial appointment to register them as my primary physician. I would've thought the doctors would at least be more informed about my situation...
  5. pwrslm just curious what someone in my position can do that has pretty much been home treating any ailments for years? I'm literally in pain for my shoulder as I type this, but I ice/heat it and use patches. I've always been one to just try and deal with the issues, but after talking to a VA representative they told me I should see the VA doctors about any issues, especially if they involve problems that happened in the Marines. Stubborn is what my father has always said. I really don't have a physician I see regularly.
  6. Thanks for the response(s) wacamawwild. I've already sent the medical documents overnight w/signature and they were signed for. The medical records that show these injuries are from the naval doctors and all injuries were while in service, so I don't think I would need much more evidence than that would I? I will try to call that number this coming week. I've tried using the 'chat with va', but I'm either 30+ people waiting or it says it's down for the day (several days in a row). I have nothing but time, but just want to make sure I do this the best way possible this time since the first claim wasn't.
  7. So I've been poking around here for a couple months, but just now wanted to ask the forum a question. I served in the USMC from Dec '95-Dec'99. I don't wanna make it too long, so here's a short summary of what happened. In 2010 I had issues at work with many of the ailments I know were brought upon due to service (ankle/shoulder/back) - I have documents in my medical files which I personally had in my possession. So I filed 'online' for disability concerning those issues. Actually went to I guess a C&P exam. I never received anything from them regarding the need of medical records, because I "assumed" they had copies of them in their possession. Well, 9 months later a decision was made that none of them were service connected??? How is it possible with medical records that none of my claims were related to the military service, but I was looking right at them myself?? I was very discouraged by this for many years and just left it alone....until meeting a guy that helps veterans with claims at no charge. He took a look at my medical records and couldn't understand why they didn't even rate me 0% SC. He had me re-open the claims on those ailments and also found several others I was unaware of that I sent through. Is it possible that they don't even have copies of my medical records on file? And if so, even after the exam, they didn't find anything wrong with me and sent me on my way. I mailed them copies of my medical records that even show from the first week at boot camp, I rolled my ankle and was on crutches for 2 weeks! Ever since then, my ankle (which is on the same flat-foot) has given me issues. I'm not familiar with ebenefits, as far as uploading documents, but maybe I should also do that. I have been the stubborn veteran that didn't seek medical attention on things that I could treat at home...
