  1. Thanks Broncovet Looks like I am getting the right amount thank you all for the help.
  2. Thank you for that because I am only receiving the extra 102.00 per month. My award specifically states entitlement to special monthly compensation based on housebound and loss of use of a creative organ. The next line says entitlement to special monthly compensation is warranted in this case because criteria regarding housebound have been met. I apologize but I guess I'm just confused about what I'm supposed to be receiving. I have a spouse and one child thank you for your help
  3. Hello everyone, I was awarded 100% for PTSD and also SMC K and also housebound. I searched previous threads and didn't understand what they mean by housebound. I understand the SMC K. I know the housebound is because of the 100% PTSD, I just don't understand what they mean by housebound as far as if there is any additional benefits or restrictions. Any help would be appreciated, thanks
  4. They do. They enter notes and it goes to your psych Dr, you could also stay unanimous. You have to give them your info. The C line has helped a lot. I only had one bad experience.
  5. Great advice, you are right no need to pounded in the sand. Thanks brother
  6. Thank you for taking the time to explain the process. I might PM you regarding the FERS. Thanks for your help.
  7. If you're retired and left the federal service what did you do about health insurance how are you able to keep the Blue Cross and Blue Shield? is that a part of the Federal retirement? I am totally and completely lost man as I have no idea how I'm going to be able to get my family health insurance my wife is going to try to find a job. How long do I have until I have to quit is there a timeline . I mean I barely make it through the day and I have had multiple issues so I'm definitely not complaining but I'm just trying to figure things out. When you say you haven't received your final decision do you mean the actual paperwork in the mail or what. Thanks for the help brother I appreciate it I'm just kind of confused as I'm sure you can tell. I didn't apply for IU, I applied for an increase as I was at 50% for PTSD
  8. Thanks AR, what did you do about health insurance? Were you P&T.
  9. Hello everyone, Thank you for all of your help and advice. I went on ebennies and saw that I was awarded 100% for PTSD. I am currently working for the Federal Government and I owe them 200 hours of FMLA, which is advanced sick leave that I did not have and they basically the let me borrow. Does anyone know what the time line is for me to leave my job. I looked at a letter and I was not awarded P&T. I did not see any other information. Does anyone have any experience on how I would pay back my FMLA without working, I earn 4 hours of sick leave every 2 weeks. Any recommendations on any good insurances besides Obamacare for my family as my wife is not working, yet. Thank you for your help
  10. Sorry to hear about your situation SLY. I hope things work out in your favor because that is terrible that they didn't inform you right away that you were being med boarded out. Are you currently working ?
  11. Hi Berta, No worries at all. I understand exactly what your are saying as it is unfortunately true at times. I hope you know how much we appreciate you on this board and how much it means to all of us your sacrifice trying to help us navigate our way through the quagmire that is the claim process. I was a member back in 2007- 2011 under a diffrent name. I then started working oversees and recently came back to the board. I always appreciated your posts and valuable insight. Thank for you and your husbands service to our country and its veterans. Thank you, Have a good day.
  12. Hello Berta, Thank you for responding. I worked at this VA for 3 years and the VA program itself is great. The Doctors, Suicide prevention coordinators, Social workers have been superb, and have treated me as if I was family.I have been receiving treatment for my PTSD from the same Doctors for 7 years. The problem is what was going on with some of the patients in the program. There was a lot of fights, thefts, and patients were buying and selling drugs. The position I had at this particular VA I saw all of this first hand. I never said the program was bad but the environment at this particular VA is bad. My psychiatrist, Pschcologst, and the suicide prevention coordinator all reccommend that I go to a VA that is further north in the state as they agre its not the best environment for me. Which is what I plan on doing. Believe me without the VA and their intervention I would be dead. I am already service connected for PTSD and have been for years. It interesting that you mention a program lasting a year. It was reccommend to me that I attend a program that is funded by the VA that deals strictly with PTSD and TBI. I suffered 2 TBI's so I would qualify for the program. I am hoping I can get into that one. Thanks again for you response.
  13. Thank you for the advice you are spot man. I need to do the same and I know it. It's getting to the point where I am worried about getting locked up or dead. I have a real issue with entering a program as I have extremely poor skills being around people, I am not an xxxxxxx or anything. It's just that I am extremely uncomfortable with people being close to me and I know how the PTSD inpatient program is at the VA where I live, it's a bad environment. I can barley sleep at home, no way I can sleep somewhere else especially the VA. I take some pretty strong sleep meds and can't even sleep in a hotel by myself. Thank for your advice
  14. Thanks for the response OEFI already have a reasonable accommodation for my physical disabilities and it's been months and they haven't given me one thing. I have asked for pretty simple things and they also keep throwing more work my way. My Chief keeps it in our Division which is rather small as he refuse to let the higher up get involved. I had a violent confrontation at work and it was leaked that I had PTSD. I was not fired but things were kept quit about it. I have letters from my Psych Dr to start the PTSD accommodation. I barley make it through the a day let alone a full week, it's just getting worse. The thing is they won't fire me being a Disabled Veteran and which is a good thing. I had to leave a very good job about 10 years ago due to my PTSD, I was not rated at the time as I had a TS and was a LEO now I don't even have a clearance and am the low man on the totem pole. I lost my 20 year retirement due to this illness. I am not complaining at least I have a job and I'm able to provide for my family. it's just the motherfucker sometimes as I'm sure you know. Thanks for the advice man I appreciate it.
  15. Happy to hear things worked out as they should have with your C&P brother.
  16. With all do respect there is no way I am going to read through all those docs why don't you just tell us what the outcome was or what you are celebrating.
  17. What Burta and Buck are saying is spot on .I just finished two exams and I brought all of my records that I sent in. During one of my C&P appointments the doctor was reading my records from a private doctor and he said to me it's a good thing you brought this because it helped you. So it was kind of concerning to me that I sent all these documents in through my VSO and my examiners didn't see anything. So I'm glad I brought everything and showed them everything and if they didn't want to see it they just said I don't need to see it, but both doctors spent a lot of time going over the records I brought with me. Good luck
  18. It's not easy for us to fit in with just the normal people in society. I can only imagine having to be around the upper echelon of society. People just don't understand, only those who feel it know it.
  19. I get the same treatment from my family, as my wife dosent understand my illness at all and my other famly members don't want to hear about my issues. Unfortunately my father killed himself shortly after I was injured he was an army vet as well as his father who is also dead and fought in World War II? So I am just basically considered the xxxx up as I have a half brother who is very successful along with an xxxxxxx stepfather who wants to hear nothing about PTSD as he is a corporate machine and considers mental illness a weakness. So the only place I feel comfortable talking to other vets and people who have been through some shit. That is what I'm concerned about once the job connections are severed I know I'll be lost as it's something I am trying to prepare for because it is inevitable it will happen. Thanks again Talon.
  20. What up Mike Thats a good idea. I just had 2 C&P exams and I brought a copy of everything I submitted especially documents from outside Dr's and the also Documents from the Dr that that the VA sent me to as the wait time was too long so the sent me to Memorial regional to see one of their contracted Dr's. During the exams the C&P examiners spent a lot of time going over the documents as if they never seen them before, at one point during the exam the examiner said " it's a good thing you brought this document because it helped you". So I would encourage you to bring any documents that you submitted. Good luck
  21. Thanks for the reply Talon, I am actually not hoping for 100% PTSD. I am hoping for 70%. I know onece you get into 70% it gets very iffy when it comes to working. I put in for an increase because I had to leave three different federal agencies and now I wound up at my last stop. I came to this agency with 50% and they had to interview my Psych Dr before they gave me the position. I refused to file for PTSD for awhile due to the job I first had because of the stigma that came along with it, as I worked with almost 98% of vets. I would not have been able to hold the position with PTSD anyway. I just was unable to take it anymore. I left for a less stressful position , which I had to leave after a year and then wound up where I am at now. It is known that I have PTSD and its actually pittifull how I get treated sometimes. The supervisors treat me like I am severely mentally challenged, which is very offensive and demeaning. They have already fired 2 other vets while still on probation and trying to fire another guy who has been there for 6 years, so I am trying to help them fight it. After being Baker acted I don't know what they will do with me as I have to disclose it on my SF-86. Sorry for the rant, thank for your advice its appreciated.
  22. Hopefully this will help. I had 2 PTSD C&P exams both scheduled for an hour. The first one lasted one hour and I was awarded 50%. I filed for an increase 5 years later and that one lasted 1.5 hours.
  23. I appreciate your guys replies. Maybe I worded my post wrong but I was wondering what the process would be if awarded the hundred percent .I'm not out there just to get the 100% PTSD, if they give it to me that's great but that's not my final goal my final goes to un-xxxx myself and get better and stay out of trouble. I am curious how the process works when working, is there a timeline of when I would have to quit by. I am just unfamiliar with the whole process as the veterans that I know all were not working or were fired before they were awarded anything. My C&P was already done and examiner suggested an inpatient program. I appreciate the CPT suggestions itChief, I have been through CBT and that really didn't help me so I will definitely look into the CPT as that sounds promising. I have been doing various therapies and MH clinics with the VA since 08. .
