  1. No I have to wait until monday unfortunately. They listed my scars as temporary I am pretty sure. However what they really are are deep sinus tracts filled with pus that causes my scars to keep opening and obviously they are very painful. I was initially rated for this 8 years ago and given 10% for each scar (both armpits and both sides of groin). They rated it as "acne" as "that is what my condition closely resembles" according to their opinion. However Acne is not painful and unstable chronic lesions that never go away that sometimes can become the size of soft balls. After years of painful surgeries (by the VA mind you) and having hundreds drained over the last years the VA finally decided to give me the upgrade I put in for. However when I put in for my upgrade I also included that I was on a constant dose of systemic autoimmune therapy to help treat this condition. It is ratable at 60% and the VA prescribes my medication. Although they checked off that I was in fact recieving this treatment they did not rate me for it. I did however finally get a 90% rating, but with the additional 60% it would have bumped me up to 100%. So I went back to the VA for a reconsideration and was scheduled for 2 unnecessary C and P exams. The first one the guy acknowledged I injected humira into myself every week and put me in for the upgrade. Than about a week later they asked me to come in for another exam for a "skin increase" I had not put in for as I literally just had it done and was happy with the results. On this C and P exam the Doctor said my scars looked horrible and painful and measured them. They are actually larger then they were before but I guess that point is moot with the VA. Last night I found my decision had been finalized and my case closed. This morning I went onto benefits and saw that they made two of my very chronic, painful and unstable scars rerated at 0%. I have to wait until monday or whenever the envelope comes in to figure out what exactly is going on but according to e-benefits anyway (I know they suck too) it looks as if they closed my case, mention nothing about the increase for the drug I'm on (it went from pending to simply not even existing anymore) and actually lowered my overall disability rating for giving me 0% on scars that I have had for almost 9 years now. These service connected scars did not just magically get up and fly away. They are still there, and worse then ever. Hopefully this is an error. Or they really might be incompetent. I just had my scars examined over the summer so nothing could have changed in a few months. I am certainly not even close to cured. I was finally hoping to put this chapter of my life behind me too. Also I did not receive any proposal to reduce letter either. I just had a phantom call from some woman claiming I needed another C and P exam that I tried to fight because there was no need for it. After talking with my rep he said to just go in anyway but that it looked suspicious. I went in, and now they took away my benefits despite nothing changing from two months ago when those scars had actual ratings. Im still waiting for my bonus so nothing surprises me anymore with these incompetent fucks. I think I will get myself a real lawyer this time because I have just had enough of playing these games. I am a full time graduate student and this is a giant distraction.
  2. Ok so after 8 years of fighting the VA I was finally awarded a 90% disability rating for the horrendous scars I received while in the military for my service connected condition called Hidradenitis Supperativa. I had put in an for an increase because I have been on a constant dose of Humira (constant systemic autoimmune therapy treatment) but despite them checking off the box that I was on this drug they completely ignored giving me the 60% increase for it. Instead they ignored it. So I put it for a reconsideration and they brought me in for several more comp and pen exams even though they were completely unnecessary as all they had to do was look at my records. I finally found out today that not only did they once again completely ignore the fact that I was on a constant dose of systemic autoimmune therapy for my service connected disability, they went back and took the ratings away from my two WORST SCARS. They had been rated at 20% each and now they are rated as zero. The scars painful, unstable and in my groin and I have been rated for these scars for years and they have only gotten worse. Now, instead of getting the increase I originally put in for I lost benefits. Keep in mind these groin scars were literally just upgraded two months ago. I am still awaiting the letter stating why they completely ignored my very legitimate claim for the third time but also as to why they changed the scar ratings on my groin. My arms still each get a 20% rating and they look way better and are way smaller than the ones in my groin area. Can anyone explain how this could of happened? Can they award you for having terrible scars and then take away that award two months later for absolutely no reason? I have been waiting 8 years to put this ordeal behind me. Can the VA legally do this?
