  1. Hello All, Again thanks for all the advice. I am presently preparing a TDIU Form I have 2 questions . In the box that states what is the most you ever earned in one year. Do I put just my income from employment or do I have to put other income that I might have received but not from a job during the year? second question box that wants total earned income. is that just from employment or do I have to include a pension that I am receiving? Thanks again Rich
  2. Thanks, should I wait for a decision based on what I have submitted, or do I request TDIU now?? Rich
  3. I manged to find the chart and compared the ratings to my CP wordage. looks like 50%. When I took my C&P the DR said I had a very strong stressor, can the seriousness of the stressor add to the %?
  4. Carlie, I am unable to open the site you posted. Error message says explorer cannot open site?? Thanks anyway Rich
  5. Thanks Martin glad to hear you did so well Carlie I did get a copy and I believe he discussed all the pertinant facts. Did not actually say I was unemployable but did say i lost my business due to PTSD. I guess anything can happen thanks for your response Rich
  6. First I have to say thankyou to everyone who gave me advice on my previous posts. Had a C& P on Friday picked up a copy today. Appears to be thorough and all issues appear to be addressed. Dr gave a GAF of 46 current and then said GAF 44 to 49 for past year. I am a Vietnam Cobat Vet. 1. Does the VA rely soley on the scores or will they consider all the other evidence on the C & P. I guess I am asking is there any way of determing what type of rating will be given with these GAF scores. Thanks Rich
  7. thanks for your opinion. So far I think I am on the lucky side. I have had no troble with the VA I am now waiting for the VAs response to my C&P and then I should know for sure what the effective date is The C&P Dr treated me with respect, and when I contact the VA they have answered my questions. My problem stems from the fact my Service Officer NEVER submitted my claim to the VA. I was given the run around by them for over 5 mionths. I then sent my claim on my own to the VA and received a resaponse within 3 weeks that they received my claim effective Jan 2007. Should I contact the SO and try to figure this out? Thanks to all for your advice Rich
  8. Thank you for the advice, I already had a 149 submitted in 1969 and had copies of the corrected orders. and they ignored this and had me fill out and submit another one. I will make sure I keep all the orginial dated forms and see what date the VA uses thanks again Rich
  9. Thanks for your opinion, I think my best course of action is to take a wait and see attitude. and act later if I have to. I do have my orginal claim for which was dated in August 2006 Rich
  10. The VSO NEVER gave my claim to the VA. They kept on telling me I had a problem because On My Combat stressor ( bronze Star) my name wasa mispelled but as I saaid I had it corrected with a new General Order in 1969. I gave it to them but they insisted I fill out a DA 149 I think?? to get it corrected. During the time from Aug until Jan they never gave my claim to the VA Office. So I finally sent in a claim on my own with the same paperwork the VSO in Jan. The VA acknowledged receipt and p[laced a effective date of Mid January. To me it looks like I lost 5 months of anticiaped back pay.., Thanks for your response Rich
  11. Good Morning All, I hope someone on this site can guide me on the following situation. I went to VSO in Aug 2006 to file a claim, filled out the paperwork and submitted evidence. I continually contacted them VA said they never received any claim I was unable to get a answer as to why they never sent my claim to the VA they kept on telling me I needed to submit a form correcting the spelling of my name. I told them this was done in 1969 when I was out of the service. I submitted the corrected copy to them with the orginial claim. They made me file again for the change. I received a notice from the Army that the correction was previously made in 1969 All this went on until Jan when I finally sent the VA my request myself. They responded and opened a claim in Jan 2007 after receiving my paperwork that I sent not the VSO Is there anything I can do to get them to give me a effective date of when I first went to the VSO in Aug The rep I am dealing with is supposed to be one of the best at first he said the claim was submitted and probabuly misplaced, but later admitted it was not submitted because they misspelled my name the orders spelled my name with 2 ss instead on 1 Am waiting for any suggestions thanks Rich
  12. Hi Alex Dont think stressor is a problem received a Bronze star w V device for a 2 day battle, where we were almost overrun by 2 Battalions of NVA and one of our planes dropped Naplam on my position,Lost (KIA) 25% of Company and many more wounded. Dr asked me about it and I explained my fear and nighmares about this battle. Also the last 4 months of my tour I was made the Supply Sgt, I reguarly went to graves regestration to ID bodies. I was promoted and was going to renenlist. 2 weeks before I was going to re-up 2 members of my rifle squad were killed. I was required to ID them and go through their personal effects to send home. Needless to say I didnt relist I know anything can happen, But my main purpose of the post was to say I was treated fairly and with respect by the Dr. Rich
  13. Went to my C& P Exam for PTSD, pleasntly surpirised after reading so many horror stories. I arri ved agt 7 am C&P was at 9. I walked arou nd for 2 hours exam stated promptly at 9. Dr stated he just revied my C fi,le and had it in his possesion. Went through my file with me. Stated he was no there to treat me but had to ask questions. apoligized in ad vance if the questionbs were troublesome to me. made me feel comfortable.and at ease. upon completion informed me that he was giving me a diagonsis for PTSD and since his report was being sent today on the Computer the VA cannot loose it. Also said I shopuld hear from the VA in 6 to eight weeks. Left there feeling like I was treated with respect and compassion. By the way Dr is from the VA Med Center in Nortport LI. Hop[e this experience helps others. Rich
  14. Thanks to all for your responses. I do have a solid stressor so thats not an issue. I lost my job because of PTSD. I installed signs for century 21 and wasnt able to deal with the public, startyed to make mistakes and continually got into arguements, i bascially have no friends and do not go outside if my neighbors are out. I find it very difficult to admit to myself or others about thoughts of sucide, My wife will work 12 hours a day just to stay out of the house This memorial day was a disaster, A plane dropped naplam on my MG position on the 29th of May 1966. and the air show went directly over my house for 2 days. I had my worst flashbacks ever and am an emotional wreck. In addisdftion I have a C&P tomorrow for PTSD and am anxious about that!! Thanks to all and thanks for this site for fletting me Vent my furstrations
  15. I am new to this site after reading many posts I am confused. there are many different opinions oln this site and for a newcomer with PTSD I am confused. My question is my private Dr gave me a GAF of 58 and sthe VA wants the records from him. Do I provide this info or not?? Will it hurt my case or not. Thanks
  16. This is my first post , I have been reading the posts for awhile and find them very helpful. thanks for all the info I am not sure I am in the right place I am looking for some advice currently have DMII 20%. MY private Dr gave me a prescription for Avandia the VA will not give me this medince, by the way it has kept my blood sugar at the best levels I have seen in years. MY VA Dr stated he could not prescribe this drug and had to get approval from a specialist. He told me it would be denied because it is expensive It was denined. they offered me anothe drug that works differently. the Avandia costs me $130.00 a month my drug plan wont cover it. Is there anything I can do to get Avandia from the VA?? Thanks again for this site
