  1. I'm rated 100% for MDD non p&t. I have a letter from my voc rehab counselor stating that I can not work. I also have a letter from my psychiatrist and social worker stating that I can not work. What are the odds that I get approve?
  2. Hello everyone. I qualified for voc rehab, and my counselor gave me three options. The three options: Independent living program Extended contact (she will call me each month and see how i'm doing) reapply another time She understands that my problems are more mental, and I told her that my chronic back pain and flat feet did not prevent me from getting around the house and living independently. I see a therapist once a week, so I think the extended contact would be useless. I'm 100% sc non p&t at the moment. Thanks for reading, Fearless
  3. July 2, 2019 - Va receives my supplemental appeal with new evidence August 15, 2019 - Given new C&P exam for the condition September 17, 2019 - Awarded favorable decision My appeal was simple and easy. Your appeal may be more complicated.
  4. Reopened my tinnitus claim, and my VSO went ahead and submitted a new claim for hearing loss. Just wondering.
  5. January 2019 - submitted claim February 2019 - C&P exam July 2019 - Submitted supplemental claim with new evidence September 2019 - Awarded 100% non p&t for major depression with an eed of 8/15/2019 Shouldn't my eed be January 2019? I left my job because of this disability in 2017 and have not worked since.
  6. Hahaha I love this place. @Riplip I take antidepressants and I have this problem. I'm not a doctor, but I read on the internet that antidepressants can cause this. I'm in my 20's and this is problematic.
  7. I had my VA doctors write me a letter to fight my proposed reduction. The letter was highly in my favor. There is a directive as well. You may find it interesting. https://www.va.gov/vhapublications/ViewPublication.asp?pub_ID=4300
  8. I have a supplemental claim open. It states, " We dont know your status" and " 1 compensation issue". I called the VA instead and got the status on my claim.
  9. Drove 30 mins down to the VA hostpital just to be told that they cancelled my appointment. I'm angry. I called regional to see why this happened, and now they are giving me the runaround.
  10. @Buck52 I'm dx with Major depression, recurrent with psychotic features & unspecified anxiety disorder @GeekySquid I didn't think that I had PTSD because I never saw combat. My LCSW explained to me that combat was not the only way someone could get PTSD, and that I fit the criteria for non combat PTSD. I still feel a little denial, but everything we discuss during therapy points to PTSD. The funny thing is that she dx me with PTSD and the shrink says it is not true PTSD because I never saw combat. He says I experienced trauma, but doesn't want to call it PTSD. Thanks all for the response.
  11. Hello everyone. Some background info: I have a 70% SC rating for Major depression I'm diagnosed with Major depression and unspecified anxiety disorder. My LCSW said that I suffer from PTSD and that my depression and anxiety are all symptoms of it. She was baffled as to why the VA has not added PTSD to my problems list. Should I even bother with getting this changed to PTSD , or hold what I got?
  12. Is this sentence enough to win an IU appeal? This is a sentence from the letter I received from my va psychaitrist.
  13. @vetquest Am I supposed to do the whole program first, or do I bring them the letter from my psychiatrist? You may not know the answer to this, but what happens if the letter I get from voc rehab and the letter I got from my psychiatrist have conflicting information? Which letter holds more weight?
  14. @vetquest The community told me not to worry, so I'm going to do just that. As for the voc rehab, I don't know if I want to talk to anymore people about my issues. Am I just job hunting when I sign up, or is this more counseling with a psychiatrist. Do you think I may be shooting myself in the foot if I don't go?
  15. I just received the letter from my care team. Will this be enough evidence to stop the proposed reduction and tdiu denial? https://imgur.com/a/NQMl17o
  16. Thanks for all the advice. My care team was confused as to why they would reduce my rating, and agreed to write a letter against the decrease. Hope it all goes well.
  17. Thank You all for the help. Just for clarification: my care team (psychiatrist and LCSW) and I have a wonderful relationship. They've made it clear that they are here to help me, and if I need anything all I have to do is ask them. They've verbally said to me that I can not work the way I am. I have not seen this statement in myhealthevet, but I will give it another look.
  18. @shrekthetank1 @Buck52 My mental health has been a downward spiral. I meet with the LCSW once a week, and the psychiatrist once a month. I will ask both of them if they could help, but if not i'm screwed.
  19. Yes. Tdiu because of SC depression The only people I see is the psychiatrist and LCSW. They are both working at the VA. I'm afraid that they would not do an IMO, or write a statement because they work for the VA. I can not afford a private doctor. The last 2 images are from the second letter. I left out the generic stuff. I would like to point out that my LCSW diagnosed me with PTSD and said that i'm suffering from symptoms. She was confused as to why they have not added PTSD to my medical records.
  20. I do not know what more I can do. I was denied tdiu and now they want to reduce my percentage. I am flagged by the VA as high risk, I take multiple medications (antidepressant, antipsychotic, anti-anxiety); recently my LCSW said that I could not work the way I am now. Do I ask her and my psychiatrist to write a letter stating this? They do not mention my ability to work in my online health records, so I believe that may be screwing me over. Do I ask for a hearing, or do I wait for the reexamination? Exam: http://imgur.com/a/x4bGfv1
  21. Update: I did what y'all told me to do and my IU claim + increase for depression was deferred for further development. I should be getting another C&P exam soon. Thanks all!
