  1. Hi 1%'s. I stumbled over this site and this is a great resource! I never knew it was here. Read some great posts and I will admit I need some advice/help. Been abused by the VA for years and never got an guidance on what I should be doing. Lots of guesswork on how to handle this. I used to be in great shape-tours to Iraq and Afghanistan turned my lungs to junk. Rated at 10% for asthma. I have read that if I take my inhalers every day I can push this up to 30%. How should one go about doing this? Just file a claim with the VA or use a local doctor first? But this past year with the flu season its been brutal. Which leads me to my second question-been diagnosed with sleep apnea-is there a nexus letter that I can use? Never had sleep apnea before-come home from the stan and I have asthma and apnea. Been recommended a CPAP machine. Also have some PTSD-should I include that in the nexus letter. Just a bit confused about nexus letters and what they do. Help?
  2. Just sort of curious as how this turned out. I am in the same boat. My sleep pattern is garbage. Went to a sleep doctor a few years ago and was recommended a CPAP Machine (a messy divorce) side tracked me. Now I am trying to chase this down. I have PTSD and asthma-need a sample Nexus Letter. Where can one find it as I have an appointment with my doctor in a few weeks. Thoughts and advice are appreciated
  3. Yes I work. But it is government related. A few things, if you don't work what at you going to do? Sit home and drink and watch TV. That's a bad road to be on. Your sense of self worth will be nothing. My advice is to get a job at the VA and have a reason and purpose to get up. As a 30% Vet-you could be a direct hire. Two things cause depression when retired-the lack of social interaction and financial stress. A job might solve both. Id try working for housekeeping at a VA facility-lots of Vets there. I am 70% PTSD and sitting home would not be good for me,
