  1. My summary timeline was high level perspective of how my case unfolded with emphasis on the last year, I tweek timeline below: * NOD filed 02/2012 * Notification of pending BVA hearing 09/2017 * BVA hearing 02/2018 * BVA decision letter 4/2018 * Official VARO letter acknowledging BVA decision and stating that VARO had to complete its own protocols before retroactive payment 08/2018 * Revised monthly disability compensation check direct deposit begins 09/2018 * DFAS audit error worksheet completed 10/2018 * DAV notification of pending payment 11/2018 * VARO retro Payment calculation letter & direct deposit within a week of DAV notification above 11/2018
  2. Both DAV & VA reticent to give timeline and when they did the timeline was anywhere from 9 mos (accurate) to 2 years. Goes without saying that DAV communications were only advisory and that the VA was the “official” means of notification
  3. Hi - Yes, I have received the retroactive payment late November 2018. To rehash my timeline * NOD filed 02/2012 * Notification of pending BVA hearing 09/2017 * BVA hearing 02/2018 * Official VARO letter 08/2018 * DFAS audit error worksheet completed * DAV notification of pending payment 11/2018 * Payment letter & direct deposit within a week of DAV notification above DAV absolutely essential in the success of my case but be patient as DAV is inundated with other cases Hope this helps!
  4. Totally accurate & to be more accurate, RO letter was “mailed” ~ 29 July (I know, a Sunday) and I haven’t received original letter but I called the toll free number and a copy was faxed to me. I’ve since called back & asked to retransmit the snail mail. Ive been told that because I’m a retiree my RETRO calculation case goes to DFAS for an audit which is supposed to complete within ~ 120 days and then back to VA. Will keep this forum posted how it goes. Good news is my eBenefits now reflects my new rating will see Sept 1st if my new rating % pay kicks in
  5. As a follow-on, On 10 Aug 18, I received my official notification from the VA Regional Office affirming my rating increase from 0% to 60% for my disability (total disability increased from 70% to 90% effective 23 Nov 2010). The DFAS has to complete an CDRP audit to validate the amount of retroactive pay before I see any of it. I believe my 90% disability pay may increase before DFAS completes their audit. Am told DFAS targets 60-90 days to complete their audit.
  6. BVA approved my claim on granting 60% rating to a specific condition on 19 April. RO approved the BVA ruling on 29 July 2018 which retroactively increased my total disability rating from 70% to 90% retroactive to 23 Nov 2010. My question: how long should I expect before the retro payment hits my direct deposit and my increased monthly pay to reflect 90% rating? Thanks muc
  7. Wayne - I was initially ruled 0% compensable on my discharge in Oct 2006, I appealed in 2010 and was denied an increase in 2011 and filed a NOD early 2012. BVA finally heard my case in Feb 2018 and ruled by 19 April 2018
  8. I was pleasantly surprised to receive my decision letter early this week (22 April) as my BVA hearing was ~ 14 Feb 2018. In any case, the BVA granted me a 60% rating for a service connected disability previously rated at 0% effective November 2010. My questions is this: How long does it "normally" take for my revised disability rating to be reflected in my VA eBenefits account summary and how long before the monthly electronic funds transfer catches up with the BVA decision? Thanks for any feedback
