  1. Good morning, first I appreciate any and all help with this question. I am currently service connected for PTSD, I received this rating back in 2006 following my return from a 2003 deployment. Fast forward to 2011 and I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I am considering submitting my sleep apnea for a service connection rating. I have to use a CPAP. I’ve read a number of studies which link sleep apnea to PTSD. My question is, my pulmonary doctor notes that of my sleep apnea if not treated will aggravate my PTSD. Based on this comment would I submit my sleep apnea as a secondary to PTSD? I was never diagnosed with sleep apnea while on activity. I do have several notations of sleeplessness and fatigue noted in my service med records to include my post deployment med screening. In hindsight I showed many symptoms but never raised them with the Docs. I honestly wasn’t even aware of sleep apnea, although I probably had it back then. Again much thanks.
