I do have record of the social security number digit.On the phone yesterday i recorded the call and brought up the problem from last year.The VA operative said that was the case that happened last year,one digit was wrong from the ssn and caused the problem.But everything was fine for many years before this problem.I would like to know how this errror occured. There has been no change of bank accounts by me in this time. I have the Inspector general details and will call the office and put in a formal complaint. I will also bring up the problem this time around as well.Still no deposit into bank account as of now even though it was confirmed payment released yesterday(30/8/19),but as i said this was the case last year,i was told the payment was released and it had not. Ill post updates as it hapens. Thank you

I phoned the VA and they assured me that the payment was sent out to my bank on Friday.I also rang my bank before this to check if there was a pending deposit and they said no.I yet again tried to explain this but the VA lady read back the date it was sent and checked the bank account number.She was adamant and so convincing that this had been done. As like last year i was told this and after 4 months ,loosing my home and my animals we finally got to the bottom of it.A clerical eror on their side of one digit being changed on a social security number , I tried and tried yesterday to convince the VA that i had called bank and money was not there.Just checked yet again and its not. I know i should not say i give up,but i am so angry now as this is leading the same route as last year.I just cant do this again with them. Any way thank you for your kind support and words.I will update if and when i get any updates.

Phoned was told it has been released and in bank..been checking and nothing!Same as last year. Lies lies and more lies!I have no idea what to do with these people.I am about to give up.Why cant they just be honest.Guess I'll call again next week and get ready for more hogwash.

Hello i am back again.After all the upheavel of last year i find myself in a situation yet again..No payment received today for September payment.I hope i dont have to go through all this again afterfinally settling again.Im just wondering if payments may be late for september.I know usually if the 1st falls on a weekend the money is realeased on the 31st of the month..Can someone confirm this for me before i have to start making phone calls yet again.Im unsure if payments are realeased on hte 1st of the month or the 3rd..Even so being labor day weekend ipressumed the payment would of been with me today. any advice appreciated thank you thank you

Update To my surprise my payments have now finally arrived in my bank account all backdated.I should be happy.Its a shame this wasn't rectified earlier as I was evicted last week from my home for inability to pay my rent.At least now I can return home and book a flight and will have to try and rebuild my life again. The reason for this was that a death was reported and unfortunately the SSN of that person was somehow allocated to my file at that time.Closing my paperwork. Thank you for all the help and numbers you provided for me to eventually get to the bottom of this travesty! I hope any one else going through and troubles will get their situations sorted quickly. Hello The white house hotline transfered me to the rep in phoenix.I'm sorry I don't know what part of the VA depatarment it was.I have not rung the other number.I may well have been passed onto them in the past at some time.Every thing is so overwhelming at the moment..I'm sorry I can tell you the legal rep told me that on the 30 th October a decision had been made but he can not reveal it to me as I have now had to give them a change of address to a care of address for mail, as I will not be at this address at end of week.So the letter that has been sent out i will not get now anyway.This I had done two times before but for some reason it was not noted on the file work.I'm really not sure what goes on with these people. I have a form sent by email that I must now fill out for a change of address and post back. Hope this helps Thank you so much for your help

The SSN explanation makes sense to me now.When I rang in the past with my deceased husbands SSN they could not find it associated to details I gave them.I seriously am astonished that this can happen. I am still very worried,I don't understand a decision letter being sent,and why they can not just re instate as it is a mistake by them. Do they not have the information of this letter that they could of gave to me over the phone.Now I have had time to think I really don't think this will be good news either. I have attached a screen shot of adviser I spoke to for you. I will use the links you sent and start the process of putting in complaints Also I live in Europe at the moment.which makes all this so much harder.my nearest embassy is 6 hours away in Madrid,Spain. Update,called hotline spoke to a legal specialist .Was informed reason for stop of money that someone had reported a death of a veteran and somehow the VA attached that social number to my file!Closing my file!Well thank you,to late to save me from my eviction notice to vacate by Friday. In the meantime I was told that a decision letter has been sent to me about my pension.What decision,why? I have not done anything.I don't understand this.The advisor would not tell me.Any ideas on this? Why I couldn't be told this four months ago when this all started I have no idea. The local church have found me somewhere to stay for 2 weeks until I can figure something. I wouldn't wish this on anyone. Thank you

Thank you I have emailed and it has gone this time,no return mail so far. I am ringing the hotline number tommorow.I will let you know the outcome I will not get my hopes up to much as it seems no one within the VA cares or understands the seriousness of my situation. I just wish to have some sort of answer as to why this has happened. I feel sorry for any one else that has had to deal with these and the stress they must have gone through or going through. Hello I need some help if possible.I received a widows pension monthly until August this year when it was stopped .I have rang twicwpe a month for the last 3 months to get to the bottom of this and get it reinstated. August rang was told some one had reported I had died.Was told my claim would be put to priority as I was still alive. September rang was told could not find my case from my case file number I was given in August so had to go through all information again. September 3 weeks later rang again to find out progress.Was told after an hour on phone that my money had been released and was in my bank account.No it was not! Rang back next day was told it has not been released.Asked why I had been told it had,sorry can't tell you why! October rang back again after the 3 rd..explained again some one reported I was dead,want to know status.Was this time oh no ma'am no record of you being reported dead.Well why has my pension been stopped I asked.Was told most probably a clerical error of some sort.Was informed my account has now been passed to pensions team. Now to complicate more things my rent has not been paid on my home now for 3 months and I have now been served an eviction order.I am 72 years old live in Europe with health problems.I survive on this pension. I am soon to be homeless in a foreign country on my own with not even a dollar to get a flight home,let alone eat. I hope someone can give me some advice as to what I can do,I seem to be given no true answers as to what is happening,but being told lie after lie Thanks for any help
