  1. I'm not sure how to do the research if I don't know what to research.
  2. Shrekthetank1, I am rated at 80% as of right now. I also have been diagnosed with insulin dependent type 1 diabetes. This disease affects my eating and sometimes my drinking of any beverage. It is very hard for me to maintain a normal A1C because my glucose level is either too high but mostly it is too low. My diabetes doctor has now made me wear Dexcom which is a continuous glucose monitoring device. When I went to the Ear, Nose and Throat specialist, he told me that the condition has gotten worse. My vision is terrible because the eyelids are severely droopy. They have even tried surgery to raise the eyelids so I could see better but it didn't work because the muscles in the eyelid were not strong enough to sustain it. I'm not sure if this is enough information for you but if there is anything else you may need from me just let me know. Thank you in advance.
  3. I found out after my mom's passing, that she had a rare type of muscular dystrophy called Oculopharyngeal. Later after I exited the military, I had difficulties seeing because my eyelids were drooping. I had always told soldiers that I were stationed with that I didn't know why. However, I then began having difficulties in swallowing so I went to the VA's doctor and told them that my mom may have had the same thing I am suffering from. She had me do a genetic testing which came back as positive. My question is; Is there anything I can do to claim this as a disability? I didn't know about this disease while I was in the military so there is no way that I knew anything about claiming I as a disability. I don't know if it progressed while I was in the military and I don't know if I have a chance to claim this disease now. So any advice you can provide would be helpful. Thank you in advance.
  4. My question is. I acquired oculopharyngeal, which is a form of muscular dystrophy of the eyes and throat and I was tested after the passing of my mother whom I found out after her death that she also suffered from. I went through a genetic testing and that is how I got diagnosed. I would like to know if there is any way I can claim this as a disability?
