  1. Should I file an IBS claim for Gulf War Syndrome or secondary to my PTSD which I have a 70% rating? Which is the better route? Also I just need the IBS diagnosis prior to filing?
  2. I am currently rated at 73% and I am about to file intent for a couple other issues. I was given medication for Cold Sores (Herpes) in 1994 while on active duty at the base hospital. Since then I have had numerous new prescriptions over the years from private doctors as well as the VA. I currently have an active prescription from the VA. I have read this could be a 10% rating if approved to put me at 80%. Is this a common rating or claim? Would anything help my claim other than prior medical records?
  3. Hello, I am currently rated for 70% PTSD within the last couple of months. I am due for Public Trust re evaluation for my current position with CBP. I have been with the agency 10 years. Prior recerts and initial were done on the SF86 now I have a SF85P and SF85S. This changes the mental health question. I did not have to report treatment for combat related PTSD. Now with the SF85P and S it only says answer No for grief or family counseling? Do I have do disclose my PTSD treatment for a recert of public trust? Also how does this effect my recert? should I be worried? The main issue with this form compared to the SF86 question 21 which was changed now I am required to use the SF85PS which is still a form from 1995. I will have to disclose it. Does anyone have any experience or information?
  4. The DAV just told me now a VA Form 21-4138 ? how does that work? isn't that for a supporting statement?
  5. I apologize if this is posted someplace else. I am getting conflicting information on how to obtain my C-File from my DAV rep. What form do I use to request my C-file? I was told SF-180 by DAV and was told a VA-3288 by someplace else. Also where does the request go to? One source said my RO the other archives in Minnesota? Also what is included in my C-file just medical records pertaining to my current disabilities? or all of my medical records? I want to file an intent for a couple of other issues but I am looking for treatment and diagnosis dates in my medical records. I would appreciate any information.
  6. I do not think I am eligible for Chapter 35. Yes Im only at 70% . And not permanent and total. Update- My dependents were approved and added to my claim in less than a week. Back pay should come soon.
  7. Im currently rated at 70%. I just copy and pasted the exact same information from the VA website and sent it to my DAV rep. I believe I may have offended him correcting his misinformation. All three kids are fulltime college students. I would think a DAV rep would know this?
  8. Sorry for the repeat guys. Im getting conflicting information. My DAV rep told me I couldn't add anyone over 18 without them being disabled themselves. Which is wrong I believe. My intent was filed 4 Jan 19 Claim sent in 30 May 19 Claim approved 11 Sept 19 I received 7 months of back pay.
  9. Claim recently approved- My effective date is 4 Jan 20019. I received back pay for 7 months on my claim. I understand it starts retro pay from February 1st until now. However it looks like I wasn't paid for September as if the shorted me a month. Does anyone have any insight on why I was only paid for 7 months? I also just added my 3 dependents all over 18 but fulltime enrolled in college. How long do these claims take to be added and retro pay?
  10. My claim was successful . 70% PTSD and 10% Tinnitus. I already received my backpay. It was very fast. I have now added my three children that are all in college and 18-24. What type of timeline can I expect for dependents to be added and retro pay? I entered them in Ebeenfits
  11. Yeah I am in wv..... I dont think the term past due.....is in the VAs dictionary
  12. I understand it's a long process. I'm trying to be patient. It should be a straight forward claim. I should have done a FDC. I saw a deadline for this request and it September 2nd..... I also know the va doesnt like claims going over 125 days of they can help it
  13. I have access to it. It was done at the va and was told it was sent to the RO that they have not pulled it yet? I'm not sure of their procedures.
  14. Hello, I finally got my C&P for Hearing loss and Tinnitus and received the results in which I clarified here on the forum. My claim consists of 1] PTSD 2] Hearing Loss 3] Tinnitus. IRIS inquiry told me that everything has been received except for my Audio Exam results by the RO . There is also still an open VA request in Ebenefits for the results. They also stated the results were uploaded but not pulled down yet by the RO? Does anyone have any insight on this? Since I have the results can I upload them in Ebenefits? Or just sit back and wait for the RO to continue the process. My Claim is now 101 days old. With an estimated completion date of September 2nd to October 15.

  16. I have not heard anything. According to Ebenefits shown below there is a request still from information from the VA. I assume they havnt received my Hearing C&P results yet? I was told before that exam all of the other information is complete. So Im not sure what the hold up is.
  17. Sounds good...…. I was just worried about the below. I guess you are either denied or 10% and there is not a )% rating for Tinnitus Functional impact of tinnitus -------------------------------- Does the Veteran's tinnitus impact ordinary conditions of daily life, including ability to work: No 4. Remarks, if any, pertaining to tinnitus
  18. Thanks so much. I can see that it looks like they stated that YES I did have Tinnitus, and YES it is more likely than not for service connection, But to me the variable it states "Does the Veteran's tinnitus impact ordinary conditions of daily life, including ability to work: No Does this mean a denial? or maybe connection but 0%? What is weird is they never ask me the frequency or if it effected me daily.
  19. Ok I was asked and reported it. The above attached is the result of my C&P at the VA. Since they stated it is least likely than not. Does that mean its favorable for being rated at 10%?
  20. Good morning, Just working my way through my first VA claim. After reading the results of my hearing/ Tinnitus claim C&P exam I am a little confused. My hearing results were normal. Tinnitus was positive and has the statement " more likely than not" occurred in service. However, is also says it does not effect my everyday life. I was never asked how it effected me or anything of the sort. If asked I would have gladly reported how it effects my sleep and daily functions. Does this mean maybe a 0%? SECTION 2: TINNITUS -------------------- 1. Medical history ------------------ Does the Veteran report recurrent tinnitus: Yes Date and circumstances of onset of tinnitus: Veteran states his tinnitus began about 15 years ago, while serving on the flightline. 2. Etiology of tinnitus ----------------------- At least as likely as not (50% probability or greater) caused by or a result of military noise exposure. Rationale: Veteran served on flightline. 3. Functional impact of tinnitus -------------------------------- Does the Veteran's tinnitus impact ordinary conditions of daily life, including ability to work: No 4. Remarks, if any, pertaining to tinnitus:: -------------------------------------------- No response provided
  21. Oh ok, my problem is the VARO is 5 hours from me. I guess I can request in writing.
  22. I didn't know I had a choice. My exam was 106 miles from my house and with traffic took 3 1/2 hours each way. From what I have read on the forum chances of me getting a copy of my exam is hit or miss. I don't know where to even start.
  23. So my PTSD exam was by VES, does that also mean VES will handle the other exams as well? I asked VES when they called for the original exam if that was the only exam scheduled and they responded that is all that they had. Could the VA do the other exams?
  24. I recently had my C&P with VES for PTSD. I am still waiting for exams to be scheduled for hearing loss/ Tinitus . My first question is it has almost been two months since submitting my claim. Should it be a long wait for the final exam? Im afraid it will slip through the cracks. Also I read multiple post without being able to decipher a good answer is where can I get a copy of my recent C&P from VES?
  25. Ok I believe I'm almost ready to submit my claim.... VA-526EZ , Orders for the deployment to Iraq, DD214 also after the deployment. I printed out my VA medical record from My Healthy Vet, I have also included emails I sent to friends and coworkers that gives timeframes to some of the incidents mentioned in the claim, as well as the VBA-21-0781. My question is I have ready about stressor statements. Is it ok for descriptions of incidents to enter " See attachment" ? I have attached a word document in detail of my stressor? Is there anything else that would possibly help? I am not getting much guidance from my DAV rep.
