  1. Hello vets! As some of you might remember I put in a claim for lower back (service connected ) Si joint, arthritis and chronic pain back in Sept of 2019. I called the VA to get update and I now have a C&P exam for gulf war medical exam. What is that and why did I get called in for that. I did not serve in the Gulf War I've done 2 pumps 0311 Marines to Iraq. Has anyone ever had this exam what is it good or bad what to expect. They said it could take 5 hours. Thanks Carson
  2. I have no idea where he got the percentage from, just what the man said. a buddie of mine is a review officer at the VA for claim of comp. He said its all about time lines. like much issues at the va. if you have a solid string of events over days, months years then it will go into your favor. my claim is not for chronic pain alone. its lower lumber INC im at 10% now arthritis SI joint chronic pain im pretty new at this, ive been out in civ div for almost 11 years and this is the 1st time ive started the claim process, until about 1 year ago I didnt even know you got paid for disability.
  3. yes, i generally run out of Vacation or personal time around sept thru october.
  4. hello all and Happy Holidays, I have a active claim for Chronic Pain, I submitted it on Sept 30,2019 and according to ebenfits has a est. completion date of jan 20th 2020. My question is who of you have been awarded this claim, I didn't know anything about it my vep rep suggested i do it since i have a 10 yr history of pain and treatments, meds, xray, mri, injections pt ect. I know they don't have a specific rating code for it and it goes under Mental DIsorder. if you have gotten a award for it what did you receive and do you think it was a fair rating. My vet rep seems to think this will be no less then 50% . Thank you all.
  5. Why would I need yo make copies of medical records and send them in? If my one and only records are with the VA system.
  6. Hello! So my vet rep and I put in for a increase for lower back, arthritis, si joint and chronic pain. Has anyone of you ever been rated for chronic pain? And what rating are you receiving and the reasoning behind said rating. Do they rate it by itself? Thank you
  7. Hello everyone! My question is this I'm working a claim for increase on several back and joint issues. I have never received care outside a VA hospital or military base. From meps to present I don't have a private doctor or any civilian records. One of the last tabs on the online claims form is a blank BDQ for my private doc to fill out.i don't have a private doc. Can I leave that blank and submit my claim? Suggestions are greatly helpful. I have a couple lay statements as well that I uploaded this morning
  8. hello all! question I contacted my Vet Rep yesterday to see the progress of my PTSD and TBI claim for increase (currently 20% overall with service connected PTSD and TBI both at 0% each) I was in the Marines 0311 with multiple tours in the sand, anyways. I originally only put in for a PTSD increase, VA put me in for exam with VES all went well Dr. has final report in 7-10 days post exam. Then I get called in again through VES on Residuals of TBI, from what my Vet Rep says per the report the PTSD Dr said she could not separate systems of ptsd and tbi, and she recommended i see a TBI dr. so another couple weeks go by I have that appointment. my appt. was july 22nd. here we are at aug 28th and the VA has not revived my TBI from the Dr. I have called VES the VA and Vet rep all are kinda giving me the same "sit tight". I have never done a claim for increase before I and literally just got a ebenfits like 3 weeks ago. I have been out for 10 years and the official time the va rec. my claim was june 5th 2019. I saw on ebenfits a page where you could ask the va to make a decision on your claim, should I do this or wait longer? ebenfits says est. completion time of sept 2nd thru oct 4th.
  9. Hello all! I have a question, I have a pending claim for PTSD and TBi. With a est. Oct 3rd completion date. Also I have some education debt totaling about 3k. Should I apply for the waiver on education debt? Will this slow my decision down on the claim for compensation? Please help and anyadvice is wanted.
  10. Buck52 I dont know what that is or how to get it. Until like 12 months ago I didn't even know we could file for increase of disability. I've been at 20% since 2009.
  11. hello all! this is my first post and my first time trying to increase my VA disability. I was in the Marines (0311 grunt) I served from 2005 to 2009 with multiple pumps to Iraq. my company op was in a around Hit, Ramadi, AQ ect. I currently have a 0 % service connected for PTSD and TBI. back in May of 2019 I applied for compensation increase for the first time. i currently rec. 20% for back and ringing of ears. my question is this . what do you all see my % going up to ? I already had my PTSD c and p appt. while i did not request a TBI increase, the va added it on my ebenfits as a "residuals of TBI" request for clarification is this a good thing? any of you have this happen to you and what was your final outcome? my appt is today at 9am. anything you can help with would be great.
