  1. I was in both Afghanistan 2001 to 2002 and Iraq 2003 to 2004 I was around a lot of explosions and IED's in 2007 I finely received 100% P&T with TUID in 2008 I was treated for TBI I was told I have moderate TBI was given tested and went to a balance center for balance related problems and then I went through testing for memory loss and forgetfulness and I was given a PDA from the VA and I was told that I have Mild TBI and I was just wondering should I put in for the purple heart. I was awarded a bronze star medal with V device also the Combat Infantryman Badge and Combat Action Badge along with 22 ½ years of service. Just wondering what I should do if any thing

I was treated at my VA hospital 3 to 4 years after I retired from the service I was told I had a mild TBI. I was around a lot of IED’s and mortars I never got treated for a concussion when I was in combat would that keep me from trying to apply for the Purple Heart

  3. Hi my name is Bob I have a? I am 100% Pt with unemployable both of my knees are messed up I wear braces on them if I haft to walk a lot it is hard for me to do so my knees swell up some and I have a lot of joint pain I was wondering if I would be eligible for a scooter what needs to be done to try and get one if or what does it take to try to obtain one so that it is easier on me to go to places with my wife

  4. Its really pretty simple. If a Veteran gets regular disability they can get VA and SSD. Ifs its pension disability or SSI than its offset. However the VA pension will allow medical expenses to be deducted and quite a few Veterans with non service connected disability get the full amount so that they can stay in a nursing home.

I am 100% P&T and I am trying to get ssd and I did not know thank you

  6. If you believe you can prove the TBI and its residuals as due to your service- I sure would file the claim if I were you.

It would matter if you ever raise to SMC level-

you would need 100% for one SC and than 60% for another independent SC to get SMC S award.

and it would matter to your spouse if the TBI ever causes or contributes to your death

thank you now another ? what is SMC Level?

  7. I am 100% P&T with Individual Unemployability

    PTSD 80%

    Left Tistecular Mass 0%

these are my ratings from the VA now they thank I have TBI they are testing me now and I was wondering if they find that I do have TBI should I file a clame for it and have it add or should I let it go for now since I am all ready rated 100% P&T just need some help.

  10. I need some advice I am 100% perment & total PTSD is 80% right knee 20% left knee 10% and Tinnitus 10% now the VA Hospital is looking just now getting around to my TBI and they say I have tested positive for TBI should I open a clame up for that even though I am 100% perment & total?

  11. Yes, you can obtain a copy of your c-file by writing your regional office of the VA. I was advised to NOT request a copy while my claim was active as the process might be delayed due to the file being "pulled." for copying. More experienced people at this site might advise you otherwise. Good luck@

thank you i have 100% p&t so i thank i might request it thank you for your help

  12. You bet- actually the Chapter 35 is for your dependents as well as CHAMPVA.

Have you applied for SSA too-the VA award letter is good evidence for that and you can get both SSA and VA comp with no offset.

Welcome aboard and how long did your award take you ?

and did you have a good vet rep?

yes i have a very good rep and it took me 4 1/2 to 5 years to get permanit and total now working on SSD i have a lawer helping with it
