  1. Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone! Rentalguy, how much Traz were you on at the end of a month? I know people that get by fine on 25mg....I've heard of someone who takes 500mg...I take 400mg plus an Ambien. You are so right about the pain/depression royally messing up sleep. Guess I'm saying medications are trial and error, until the right drug(s) and dosage combination is hit upon.I've been on Wellbutrin and Zoloft at the same time, with the Traz at night. Worked ok for a while. Anyway, wish ya all the best! Happy T day. Linda
  2. I took 200mg of Zoloft for about 10 years, never had the jaw clenching problem. What dosage are you starting at? Linda
  3. Yes, I've heard that....but, for whatever reason, I don't seem to have the "normal" reactions/after-effects from any of the OTC/prescription medications. I drove 40' city transit buses for seven years with no problems from the Traz/Ambien combination. That why it's so hard to find a combination of stuff that will work with the dysthymia/PTSD. You have alot of great information, thanks for sharing. Linda
  4. Thanks everyone, for your input. I sure hope others will continue to share their experience with Trazadone and/or Ambien, especially when related to depression/PTSD. I'm on this combination for sleep due to Dysthymia (long term depression) Also have many PTSD symptoms, related to casualities/injuries dealt with while on active duty 1969-1985 in the medical field. Take a whole poop load of other medications also, antidepressants, cardiac, ulcer etc. Yes, I know nightmares could be a side effect of the Traz. I've been on it since 1995 specifically because of the nightmares.....and although I still have "the mares", I no longer move the king-sized mattress 3 feet off the box springs and no longer shred the sheets in my sleep. That's a definate plus in my book. Pete53: glad benadryl works for you. It has the opposite effect on me. Otey2171, Sledge: Traz may cause nightmares. Traz is one of the drugs that might help people with depression/insomnia and PTSD. Not everyone has the same response or side effects. It's pretty much trial and error until you find a combination that works for you. danang: know it's rough for you with both COPD and PTSD. My SO has asbestosis, 35% of his lungs left....ends up in ICU for minor colds, has been in full cardiac arrest three times, Med's up the ying-yang along with the breathing machines, O2 etc. My prayers to ya. John9999: not a chance in the very hot place I'd even consider coming off the Traz. Haven't tried Lunesta. Sleepless in Moreno Valley: It certainly wouldn't hurt to ask your MD if Ambien could be added. The worst would be a NO. The best would be it would be added and you might get a better quality of sleep, even if not a longer sleep time. Not trying to prescribe meds here, just a suggestion. Thanks to all for their service to this country and for sharing here on this board. Sleepless in NE Wisconsin, AKA Linda
  5. Wondering how many are on Trazadone for insomnia, what dosage works for you, how long you actually sleep, and what is the quality of that sleep. I've been on 400mg of Trazadone for years, getting 2-4 hours of restless, continueous nightmares, sweatly sleep. I wake up clear headed, no drug hangover. The VA doc recently added Ambien (Zolpidem) 10mg to the 400mg of Traz. While I don't sleep any longer, it's a deeper, more restful sleep. Just curious how the Traz works for others. Thanks for any input. Linda
