  1. Hello Brothers and Sisters, I've been rated 100% P&T since January 2003. My single largest rating is for recurrent major depression at 50% followed closely by diabetes mellitus at 40%. I have a slew of others that push me over the 100% threshold. I have developed two conditions over the past several years that I wonder if I can get special monthly compensation for? I have a severe case of dupatryn's contractures in both hands limiting my abilities to type and grasp objects. I also have a severe case of E.D. that not even injections can help with. The VA has REFUSED to even evaluate these because I am unable to control my blood sugars well. My Gastropoesis is raging right now and I am unable to eat. I have lost 25 pounds. The VA REFUSES to treat my abdominal pain. How can we force these guys to MEET STANDARDS of CARE? I am a retired RN and I know the standards. If I file claims for SMC, will this reopen all of my previous claims?
  2. Hello Everyone, I am a 100% SC P&T since 2003. Recently I lost vision in my left eye (diabetic retinopathy) and now have a raging case of rheumatoid arthritis coupled with dupatryn's contracture. I have great difficulty in getting around and the stairs in my house are killing me. I have issues trying to grip stuff with my hands and have trouble typing. I have a zero rating for diabetic retinopathy, but have not filed on the rheumatoid arthritis nor dupatryn's contracture yet. I'm worried that if I file the new claims it could open up my previous claims for re-evaluation. I am currently 55 years old. I know I can claim rheumatoid arthritis as a secondary to diabetes mellitus and establish service connection like I did with hypothyroidism. If I leave out my retinopathy and just file on the rheumatoid arthritis and dupatryn's contracture of both hands will that help me avoid a re-evaluation on my other stuff? I mean I could wait until I reach the 20 year mark...? Any help or suggestions welcomed!!!
  3. I wanted to ask if I risk my 100% P&T claim if I filed new claims for SMC. I'm now blind in left eye and other stuff like rheumatoid arthritis and loss of use of creative organ. A bit embarressing
