  1. I had the same thing happen. I filed a higher level review and they found an error. I did get a letter of benefits that explained what the error was. In my case it was a failure of the VA’s duty to assist. They did not pull and review my VA medical records which has both the primary (already compensated for) and the secondary diagnosis (the one I filed the claim for). It says on the website it will take 4-5 months to clear the error and I should receive a new decision letter.
