  1. Thank You, I will check my local doctor and check the yearly physicals.
  2. Thanks so much for the link and information. The link was very informative. I have Hypothyroidism listed as one of my diagnosis in my VA records, so I guess now it's back to wait and see. I was in Thailand for 2 years after Vietnam, should I wait for this decision to complete or would it be prudent to claim herbicide exposure due to my time in Thailand. I understand that the Senate might vote this Friday on the PACT act that would give Thai Vets the same pathway as our Nam vets.
  3. OK, I don't mean to sound like a complete idiot on here, I certainly have a lot to learn about claims in general I guess, but I want make sure I understand that even though I had Thyroid Cancer in 2012, which lead to a Thyroidectomy, which led to my hypothyroidism, I am eligible under the new presumptive act for Hypothryoidism. Is that correct? I do have a diagnosis with VA, I get my synthroid from VA. I was in Vietnam. Thanks !
  4. Thanks for your reply and advice. My VSO just appealed it to BVA. Of course, that will take at least a year, but what are you going to do? Am I correct to believe that my current diagnosis of Hypothyroidism (even though it is due to a Thyroidectomy due to cancer in 2012) is covered under the new NDAA presumptive law for Hypothyroidism? Also, you mentions EED, not sure what you mean by that. Thanks for your help and response!!
  5. I served in Vietnam from 1972-1973. I put in a claim for Hypothyroidism 13 months ago. Was waiting for my decision... it came yesterday. Denied!!! While I have not had time to review the decision letter (have not received it yet), my VSO did look and told me and I am loosely quoting: The C&P Doctor stated in her findings that my Hypothyroidism was caused from my Thyroid Cancer (2012). The VA rater then put in his decision as saying that my Hypothyroidism was due to my removal of my Thyroid, not connected to AO. Going for a Board Appeal for this one. Need to know if anyone else as had a similar conclusion!!
