WE SERVICE CONNECTED MY #4 & 5 IN MY LOWER BACK,EXTRUDED HERNIATED DISCS & PINCHED NERVES TO MY IN SERVICE BACK STRAIN (INJURY). WE USED THE REASONING THAT BECAUSE THE VA DID NOTHING TO ADDRESS THE INJURY THAT THE RESULTING CONDITIONS OF EXTRUDED DISCS AND PINCHED NERVES & DEGENERATION WAS DIRECT CAUSE OF THEM NOT ADRESSING THE ORIGIONAL BACK INJURY YEARS BEFORE.NOW ON UP TO 4 OXYCODONE DAILY.BUT I NORMALY SKIP DAYS AT A TIME-BECAUSE WHEN YOU USE IT DAILY LIKE THAT YOU BUILD UP A RESISTANCE TO IT .SOOOO- 4-5 PILLS A WEEK KEEPS MOST OF THE PAIN AWAY. BUT SERVICE CONNECTION IS POSSIBLE--- STEVE

AFTER THE WAIVER FOR THE 10,000 TERM INSURANCE THERE IS UP TO $20,000 MORE AVAILABLE (YOU PAY FOR -MUST APPLY FOR BEFORE YOUR 65--- ) I WAS SUPRIZED IT ONLY TOOK THEM ABOUT 31/2 MONTHS TO APPROVE THE WAVIER & INSURANCE. THE VA here is doing the SAME., THAT was last december. I contacted my county service officer filed one -my power of ATTORNEY FILED ANOTHER (HAD DAV)-and also I filed the paper over the PHONE to YOUR veteran affairs office- SO i dont know which one they finally got .It seems they are doing SHODDY WORK or it seems ON PURPOSE>>>> SO I REOPENED MY CLAIM __ AM WORKING ON ILLIMATING THE UNEMPLOYABILITY BY INCREASING MY DISABILITYS+++++ THEY OPENED THE DOOR_____ GOT A NEW 10% and the VA now pays for my !0,000 GOVERNMENT TERM INSURANCE_ NOW working on AO connection and OTHERS. STEVE & PAT Should start a QUESTIONAIRE to see how many 21-4140 EMPLOYMENT FORMS they have LOST??????

You should be able to get them thru release of information. Or you might be able to get them sent to your doctor for your own interperation. They may of disposed of them also. I do know that copies can be made I had it done in the 80s for the Xrays .But the local hospital must of felt sorry they didnt charge me when they it was for A disability claim. STEVE & PAT

If the VA hospital has your x-rays and etc there should be no charge. The records department sometimes throws away old xrays also if there too old -- they were suprised mine were still there after 20 years ----GOOD LUCK STEVE & PAT

I took my Xrays at that time tua local hospital ,and yhey made me FREE copies when they found out they were for my VA claim. But now they can put these on CDs. I just got acopy of my CATSCAN on CD last year from the VA nospital in MINNEAPOLIS. Then they can be read by your doctor on the computor. So Iknow they(VA)have that capeability. STEVE & PAT

Was there any Xrays taken at the time - Thats what I did =I signed the X-rays out of records (stole them and had copys made.) I then had them read by a private radioligist and my own NON VA doctor. They said that the injury showed as an extruded cushion inpinging on the left side spine, And because the VA had not addresed the injury since 73, the spine injury was was their problem ,because they had not addresed the problem thereby allowing the back to worsen to the point it is now. Recently my left foot numeness was rated seperatly as being caused by the back ingury, But this took till 1993 .At the hearing at the FEDERAL BLDG the HEARING OFFICIAL asked if I was adding the back to the personal hearing= (they had heard about the Xray ) I said yes and the rest is HISTORY. So your Xrays and MRIs and etc ar stored seperately in records- if there were any taken at the time. STEVE & PAT

Normally when I need meds right away. I will go to my outside doctor and get a "10 day preciption " get photo copies -fill the script & pay - and send the bill and copies to FEE BASIS if you have acess to fee basis . If I cant get the DR to call it in I add the DR visit and the Medication bill. Then you may have another ENITY OF THE GOVERNMENT looking into this PROBLEM. If the medication is needed now the 10 day can be supplied. Steve & Pat

AT THE VA HOSPITALS HERE IN MINNESOTA THERE IS A $6,00 FEE TAKEN OFF EACH TRAVEL PAY EXCHANGE WHICH THEY CLAIM GOES TO THE VETERANS TRANSPORTATION VAN SYSTEM,(seems like a stupid way to support the system by taking money from the disabled who least can afford it) .THE MILEAGE HAS BEEN 11 cents A MILE SINCE THE 70s. BUT WHEN I WAS CALLED TO COME TO THE VETERNS AFFAIRS AT THE FEDERAL BUILDING THE TRAVEL WAS 34 cents a MILE IN THE 80s. AT THIS POINT (AT 11 CENTS)MY TOYOTA ECHO was just breaking even 36 -40 miles /gallon. MAYBE I CAN DRIVE THE FORD NOW.(COMFORT) STEVE & PAT

MY C&p was done by a nurse doctors assistant-- and my cp also requested a" medical opinion" . thats quite questional. anyway lts going back as a NOD .THEY DIDNT EVEN USE THE CURRENT BLOOD PRESSURE READINGS of 154/80s used 2 yr old 120/70s(which was a false reading. When you hear the alarm go off on the auto BP machine it means recheck-- thats also why they still persist in using the manual cuff =========still pluggin away steve &pat

This is interesting-I have had high triglycerides for years-service connected KIDNEY DISEASE IGA NEPHRITIS since 70s. My last appt. at the local DR-- SAYS-TRIGLYCERIDES-ELEVATED AT 426 SHOULD BE UNDER 150--- OF COURSE-24 hr urin PROTEIN was--5,423 normal should be 0-150.Ill ck at our VA and see what happens on this precription. I wonder if there is a connection to DIOXIN? steve & pat

MY claim is open (since 1970)service connected 0%- VA has supplied hearing aids (ite) in the ear aids .I had a test at the VA last year for the claim and it said my word discrimation was 100% in each ear. So I just had the test re done at my medical center and-----it rates at-- 10% on the VA CHART- so this is fixing to goback in -and also the hearing specialist said the ITE aids werent capeable of fixing my hearing problem-I NEEDED OTE outside the ear aids with more power (less squealing)for the hearing loss. So if you can get an independent TEST done -DO IT= YOU CAN ALSO get an INFRA RED HEARING SYSTEM with WIRELESS HEADPHONES for your TV FROM MOST VA HOSPITALS for your hearing loss (BECAUSE AS THE WIFE TOLD THEM) I DONT HAVE TO GO DEAF BECAUSE HE CANT HEAR. NOW MY VA FEE BASIS WANTS ME TO SEND THE BILLING TO THEM ????? I WONT HOLD MY BREATH=== I LET THEM PAY THE $26,000 BILL AT THE NON VA HOSPITAL LAST YEAR== GOOD LUCK ALL ====STEVE

I thought since you were mentioning FOOD- I ran across that any SHIPS coming in at APRA HARBOR in GUAM took on THE DIOXIN & CHEMICAL POLLUTED FRESH WATER from the navy public works in the harbor.The water & aqufir has been contaminated since WW II .Pretty much every defoilant ever shipped in the MILITARY.SEE dioxin Guam Legislature .Anderson air force BASE,EPA superfund cleanup,DOD guam usage & landfill dispersion & burning. steve

Hi- Like in my case -We went ahead and filed Social Security Disability when I was around 40% VA COMP- I used a Legal Aid lawyer at the hearing after being rejected 2 times.But the wifes uncle had been thru this ... So we went ahead and paid for a vocational assesment -and got a Mental Evaluation thru the county (these 2 items are required for social security at the court date)- and got the copies of social security doctors evaluation (they pick and choice just like the VA-- so you have to watch that and point those facts out too). Legal Aid is free, so sometimes they don't know everything they need (they are young and learning), so ask someone who won Social Security Disability, what you all need for your disability case (it will be a learning experience for both). We used our VA doctor records too for the SSD claim. Our judge (hearing administrator) awarded it, but was upset that it had to take so long and our case so drawn out-- he said that social security should of been fined for it. If you qualify for food stamps-- the county should be willing to pay for you to get the tests you need to prove your disabilities, or help you get some of them reduced. The county sees it as a future savings (if you win your case-- you won't be coming to them for help)! So my point is to start with the social security disability before your completely 100% VA. This way it is also it is harder for the VA to say you are fine the way you are. (We still had both the SSD and the VA open at the same time-- took about 3 years to win both). Our VA claim went faster after we won the SSD. Note: SSD likes to turn you down twice in hopes you will go away (just like the VA), and basically forces you to get a lawyer, and hopes you cannot afford one. Steve

HI again Ive recieved these intermitently since 1994 when I finished off the claim 80% and the last 20% IU After we moved up northern minn. they seem to arrive every year,around this time now. j Just another hoop on my "HAMSTER WHEEL".. Even though back in early 80s I went for reschooling thru VA .Saw the shrink -tests- I was told I met the items for re schooling but with my restrictions {cant sit up for long times-stand-medications-dont get along with people-bad attitude=need bathrooms and etc-)was turned down then .I guess I was unemployable then but wasnt notified by the va of my unemployability----- Im checking to see if I can open a back IU claim now . -------------- -Ill see if i can get the number- -EMPLOYMENT QUESTIONNAIRER -OMB Approved No 2900-0079 Respondent burden; 5 minutes at bottom VA FORM JAN 2005 21-4140 I DONT KNOW -DISABILITYS ARE--40% BACK-60% HYPERTENSION & KIDNEYS + fuzzy math -100% TDIU. I just got my YEARLY unemployability form .BUT this time they cant lose? it like last year.===This time-the VSO in a neighboring county= mails it- I get copys- it then goes to my legion rep=they stamp & verify and then present the form to the veterns affairs in minneapolis federal building--and they sign for it. WITH ANYTHING YOU SEND___ LIKE THEY SAY DOCUMENT,,,,!!!!!!! After they then were going to cut the disability pay-- 20% unemployability THEY finaly got the next 5 copys-- PHONE to VAO =MY X REP DAV-COPY FROM X CSO -onf by mail & ETC. SO AT THAT TIME I REOPENED MY 100% CLAIM_last february== MOST IS AWAITING HAAS= BUT THEY ADDED 10% for a left foot and leg disability-(but this did gain a $10,000 LIFE INSURANCE POLICY=PAYMENTS PAID by VA= for 100% SC.I think ITS TIME I open claims==FOR ALL 3 daughters for ---SPINA BIFIDA .
