I applied for prostrating headaches nexus from a va doc. The va never rated them but mention I had them in my rating due to to my cervical arthritis from an injury in service. That has causes me bilateral radiculopathy which I get 20% for but it took a hearing to get everything. keep a log, get a nexus. Fight any no.

I honestly can’t answer this with current knowledge but yrs ago you could only have 1 poa. i would file the nod within 1 yr. I had the DAV originally but I wasn’t happy with them and I withdrew them as my poa and did my own. To this date they still have the DAV as my poa. work your own claim plenty of help her.

Just curious what’s the highest rating you can get with GERD. Neck has to do with motion at the onset of pain.

I personally don’t know of any place that doesn’t have a long list but there are non profits that train for PTSD. The cost is enormous to have one trained. There is a woman that trains for diabetes over the internet that’s legit. I think she charges 1500.00. Some dog training places will train also for a hefty price of 1500-2500. i would search as Tbird suggested for grants. Sorry I didn’t respond earlier. Good Luck

Last I heard they (va) we’re doing a research project on giving service dogs. I don’t know if it even started.

That’s a great list!

The FIRST thing you need to do..
ruby replied to broncovet's question in VA Disability Claims Research
I agree many people including people very close to you may resent you forgetting “free money,” you don’t have to work for. When a comment is made that insinuates that I’m getting free money, I always say I’d walk in your shoes any day of the week, you don’t have pain and your head isn’t screwed on backwards. I only told one person who has told a lot of people. The JOLLY GREEN GIANT rears it ugly head in people you never thought would act in such a manner. -
Question about my 100 percent rating
ruby replied to 1stfastmarine22's question in VA Disability Claims Research
Your P&T go to tax assessors office with the letter that says Chapter 35 benefits and go to the base and get your military card. Congrats! The letter should also indicate no further exams. -
Look up painful scars and see what the rating might be. Scars are difficult because they require to be a large surface. If you think it’s worth the percentage I would write a request for a new c &p due to the the fact the examiner wrote no pain when you specifically stated it was painful. I would also do what Shrek said see the Chief in charge of C&Ps first. But it may not be worth doing anything.

FSAD female sexual arousal disorder
ruby replied to ruby's question in VA Disability Claims Research
Thanks Alchemist, i know my notes have loss of interest due to PTSD ( not those exact words). I’ll submit and see what happens. -
I submitted 2 IMOs from the outside. Three specialized VA MDs hundreds of article and decisions. The P.A. C&P stated not as likely. Denied everything at the raters level. Awarded 100% at the DRO hearing. Buck is 100% on asking for another exam based on your reasons whatever they may be. I asked the examiner if he was familiar with my condition — he said NO!

Broken, That was an FYI that it tracks from the VA (like Alexis) no more chips to send in. It also tracks mask fit, api episode ie CHF and other medical info. I lost the chip to the old one but you can tell how much pressure you’ve been using. My new one is set for 12 and 16 but I’m using 16-20 pressure. For people who don’t use the new one they cant say they use it, it’s tracked electronically. Buck it’s worth putting in a claim unless you have the highest SMC. osa alter glucose metabolism and promotes insulin resistance may cause type 2 diabetes or it can make it worse. Lack of oxygen and irregular sleep causes headaches. Migraines. the older I get the fatter I get the worse my diabetes is I take insulin 3 times a day poor sleep quality causes hypertension, cardiac problems sleep apnea and ptsd are comorbid, meaning they frequently exist together regardless of what caused the other. Chicken or the egg theory. Without proper sleep your body can’t repair itself. It’s impossible to improve broken system (body) without cellular repair that occurs during quality sleep. think about why they give anyone a CPAP if they have 5 or more episodes and it’s considered mild. its a fight worth fighting. All of my Sc disabilities are a minimal 12 yrs in statue or 20 some are 40years. -
There has to an injury or disease process to have pain. the rating schedule says which injury or disease process is rated for pain.

FSAD female sexual arousal disorder
ruby replied to ruby's question in VA Disability Claims Research
Buck52, I use mine every night or I’d be dead by now. I’m using a BiPAP now and I sleep better. My sleep apnea is severe waking 40 times an hour with numerous 30 secs of apneic spells. I’m hoping to get oxygen ordered at night my saturation’s drop to 81. That makes me goofy some days and why my doctor ordered meds to keep me awake and alert. It’s all a vicious cycle. The new machines are big brother machines they can monitor use from the VA. The old ones you send in a chip if you remember to do it. Sleep Apnea can cause or make other medical issues serious. I know based on my asthma/copd, sc, and arthritis Sc I will need A&A. The person that helps me now is moving so I’m getting panicky. ruby -

Thanks for the info. I’m going through case laws for now to find supporting laws and to look at denials for specific reasons. My diabetes and sleep apnea are not Sc and I’m hoping to Sc it as secondary to asthma /meds/ PTSD.(Sc) I’m obese at this time due to my back issues (Sc) and claudication (nsc) being able to Walk/exercise. I had surgery for ca and I threw a clot to my descending aorta that caused bilateral claudication . If I can get the NP to write what she told me I might have a chance of getting 1151 or FTCA claim. I’m past the SOL unless the time starts from the time you were told why it happened. Thanks for the help -
High Cholesterol and Peripheral Vascular Disease
ruby replied to Frank89's question in VA Disability Claims Research
Frank89, I missed this post sorry to hear what your going through. I would search for BVA decisions and CAVC decision. Where is your occlusion? PVD usually doesn’t happen over night. Yes, your increased cholesterol is probably the cause, there are many other factors such as diabetes, overweight, smoking etc but they all go hand in hand. I’m going to talk to a surgeon in a couple of weeks to decide if I’m going through surgery. How or why I developed PVD could be the result of different things but I know the pain your going through is beyond imaginable to others. I was told by the NP that during surgery for cancer the anesthesiologists let me get too dry and I threw a clot to my descending aorta which 100% occluded it took 2years for me to be Dx with bilateral claudication instead of a drug seeker, it also took that long to be able to walk. I am Lucky I did grow more arteries to compensate. But any set back of not walking I’m back to not being able to walk to my mailbox, can’t bend for several reason (bad back) or walk up a 1% incline. I was recently put on Cilostazol it dilates your arteries and you have increased blood flow. First time in 3 yrs I don’t have leg pain at rest. While I don’t know if this is an option for you it’s a miracle drug for me. I was able to grocery shop with a cart i haven’t been able to do that in 3 years. It has horrible potential side effects that’s one reason I’m thinking of surgery. If you have the financial ability to see a private vascular surgeon for other options then amputation I would highly recommend that option. I can’t offer any help with your claim other then research case law. I have an auto immune disease I was denied Sc for years finally got an IMO (he did it free- felt the va was screwing me). I had 3 VA physicians specialist write nexuses and it was denied at the raters level because a rent a DO said less likely then not. I was approved at the DRO level with %. I would ask others but I think they can’t decrease until your appeal is final. Pay attention to deadlines. Thank care Ruby -
FSAD female sexual arousal disorder
ruby replied to ruby's question in VA Disability Claims Research
Thanks everyone! I believe The FSAD (loss of organ) is in my ptsd/mst claim that was Sc. I’ll ask my psychiatrist if she’ll write a nexus. in all my md notes they state not to use any of my drugs that can cause apnea for my Sc disabilities which I need . Sleeping meds, narcotics, muscle relaxants all prescribed for Sc disabilities. I’ve used a CPAP for since 09 and recently had to go to BiPAP.. My psych ordered modafinil for the lack of sleep I’m was getting with the CPAP. It works if anyone has grogginess when they wake up. I will look for a IMO on the diabetes/sleep apnea/asthma/copd, I have found BVA decisions to support. I have a new primary very young and I’m sure she won’t write a nexus. Im going to need A&A in the near future. Does anyone have a name of IMO doctor. Thanks Ruby -
I looked this up and it’s 0 rating but you can be eligible for SMC K if you lose ability to reproduce. Do older men who can’t reproduce still get SMC K. My MST prevented me from having relationships and I can’t reproduce at my age. Does anyone have any idea? It’s in my original mst/ptsd claim from 2006. Im looking into filing for sleep apnea my research is leading me to file secondary to pain meds, muscle relaxants, asthma/copd, mst, all are Sc. My sleep apnea is severe and I have memory loss on bad days, 3 car accidents and I’m taking a med that makes you more alert, no sex drive for 40 yrs due to mst (Sc). Sleep apnea and PTSD are comorbid regardless of what caused the other. Hypertension can be secondary to sleep apnea which I’m developing. Sleep apnea is a risk factor for headaches commonly triggering migraines. Diabetes is linked to sleep apneA through obesity. Apnea alters glucose metabolism promotes insulin resistance and may trigger type 2 diabetes. If it doesn’t cause diabetes it increases the severity of the condition. There is research that the majority of participants with sleep apnea in this study also had erectile dysfunction. Doesn’t mention women. Am I going to overboard with causation factors. is it a lost cause if you can’t reproduce for the smc k. Thanks for any knowledge. Ruby
