  1. Tbird, just made a donation and really appreciate you for starting this site.
  2. Philgrenier, thank you for your service to the nation and congratulations to you on your earned benefits. It's good to read your story above on how you almost through in the towel and then found HADIT and was encourage to continue to fight the good fight for your claim. I come in contact with many active duty Soldiers who are transitioning from the military and I always tell them to come to this site, as well as tell them that NO ONE will be a better advocate for their claim other than themselves; but this site and the folks on it will surely assist where they can.
  3. Kate7772, Thank you for your service. The ebenefits technical help line number is 1-800-983-0937, hours are M-F, 8am to 8pm; this comes from the ebenefits website "contact" link; I hope this helps.
  4. Razor0331, Thanks for your service. I would just add that you may want to call the Veterans crisis line if you are in need of immediate BH/MH attention; the number is toll free 1-800-873-8255, then press 1; the website is http://www.veteranscrisisline.net/.
  5. Armyvet2010, Thank you for your service. Just my opinion and BLUF is tell the truth, explain what happen during service and how it has impacted/affected your life function since and the emotional challenges from the events of service on your daily living.
  6. CorieMboh, Thanks for your service. Since the nearest VA is an hour away, I would recommend you request fee base authorization from VA to get seen by a local doctor; just my opinion with your circumstance, they may approve on a case by case basis.
  7. Congratulations on your award.
  8. They started by deciding my TDIU and P&T were still intact. They stated even though I worked within the last 12 months I am still not able to secure or follow a substantially gainful occupation. Hello DAV_marine72 and thank you for your service. It is sad that your claims have taken this long, but at least the VA recognized your TDIU and P&T are to remain in tact; hopefully you get a decision on the rest of them more so sooner than later.
  9. Hello Krisknuckle and thank you for your service. If you have multiple conditions that are pending a decision from the VA, this may be for one that was not covered on your 15 & 16 May C&P visit with QTC; there should be a number on the letter you got from QTC that you can call and ask them something to the effect, "Since I have several items pending decision from the VA, please tell me what condition(s) this C&P is for" and they should let you know; good luck to you.
  10. Congrats to him and you for assisting him in getting this approved.
  11. Congratulations on your well deserved award.
  12. Congratulations on your award.
  13. NavyWife, my opinion is you should ask for the earlier effective date if the head injury happened before the original claim was filed; the TBI evaluation, if approved, will confirm it; again, this is just my humble opinion and hopefully others more knowledgeable will chime in.
  14. Wow, they say they working on your DIC that you have already won on 3 separate occasions does sound like they lost something or giving you the run around, but you are just the person to get them straight!
  15. Congratulations; it should not have taken that long, but thank God you got your earned benefit.
  16. Congratulations on your award.
  17. Congrats to you and thanks for your service.
  18. From reading this post and the responses, I can truly say I am very relieved to know I'm not alone in the issues I deal with on a daily basis; several of you hit the nail on the head when you stated that you don't want to deal with anyone other than immediate family, etc., as many outsiders don't understand what the constant pain does to you. I really appreciate you all for your service and for sharing your stories; may God continue to bless you all and your families.
  19. Hello Kray and thanks for your service. They may be checking to ensure you were paid correctly all your benefits; just my opinion only. Since you are a retiree, you should be able to call the 1-800 DFAS number that handles your retired pay and they should be able to tell you something as well. Back in Sep/Oct 2006 before "ebenefits", I got a letter from DFAS retiree section stating they were reviewing my files in conjunction with my VA rating at the time as I may have been underpaid; about 3 months later, I got a direct deposit over $4500.00; so I called them again just to make sure there were no mistakes and was informed that is the amount I was underpaid and my retiree pay is correct now. Just a note, I went from 60% VA rating in 2005 when I retired to 80% in late 2006 and that may have been the reason for the review.
