  1. Berta, thanks for all your help and may you continue to be richly blessed for your selfless service, directly or indirectly, that you so willingly provide on behalf of all Veterans.
  2. Painter, your rating may fall under the "protected rating" status depending on how long you have had that rating; others may chime in to give more detail on this.
  3. If I was in your situation at this point, I would send my evidence to the VSO AND the regional office; it should not take this long for the VSO to get your documents to the VA, just my opinion.
  4. Tk3000, in my opinion only, your situation appears somewhat complex and maybe best answered by a VA education officer / counselor. I would ask them to explain what educational benefits you have remaining and how best to maximize use of those remaining benefits; good luck to you.
  5. Top, hopefully the DAV can get you a response that clears the confusion from your phone appointment. Unfortunately for the majority of us Vets, the VA system treads painfully slow at deciding "earned benefits"; be patient and good luck to you on your claim.
  6. You may want to send and IRIS request to get an explanation from the VA.
  7. Helmand, I've had several bouts with "positional vertigo" in the past and it is not fun at all, so I can sympathize with you on your condition; I haven't heard of the MAV either, so I can't provide any opinion or recommendations to you. Hopefully this "bump" will get others to chime in and provide you some recommendations to consider. Thanks for your service too.
  8. Rob, great information within this letter and well worth the read...thanks.
  9. I haven't seen the "special correspondence" in ebennies; maybe it has something to do with correspondence received from congress rep/senators, state rep, etc; just a speculation on my part only...
  10. Top, in my opinion only, if you ultimately apply for and are approved for a medical/disability retirement and it is because of your service connected conditions, you should have a greater than 50% chance of TDIU approval. Others more knowledgeable may chime in to provide input as well. Take care of yourself and thanks for your service to the USA!
  11. Interesting point, 71M10; however, for those who can't afford to front the transportation cost, they should still be able to use the various service organizations that provides free shuttle transportation to/from VA medical appointments; just my opinion...
  12. I just called the CAVHCS (Montgomery/Tuskegee, Alabama) number, 1-800-214-8387; talked with the rep in Prostethics and was informed they are directed to give callers inquiring about the clothing allowance (CA) only the extension number 4202, which is a recording that states (paraphrasing) if you have received a "denial letter" in the mail, follow the instructions in the letter if you disagree and those approved for the CA should expect payment in October or November. Then the recording hangs up. I guess they are being "overwhelmed" by calls about the CA that they have put this automated system in place to answer the calls.
  13. I used to be able to see my regular appointments in ePeggy, but yesterday I got a notice that only "c and p exam appointments" will show in the system and I would have to go to myhealthy-evet to view regular medical appointments.
  14. Congrats to you, lysol; the back pay may come any day now, even prior to the 1st of September; keep a look out for it with your financial institution.
  15. DblTap1, I am not familiar with them. From what you list as your claim timeline so far, it appears that you will have a decision any day now; just my opinion, other more experience members may chime in to give their take as well. Thanks for your service, too.
  16. TexasCop, Thanks for posting that article. I was there in '97 and the company would run PT everyday by that site where the above ground explosion occurred. Of interest is the area was "fenced off" and all personnel were briefed about the importance of not being in that area for any length of time. I was one of the first non-chemical Soldiers to attend and complete the 5 day "Red Hat Course" and you talking about a hairy experience! Gives me chills just to think about it...
  17. This picture is unbelievable; and this is only one of the many VAROs that may have files like this.
  18. Interesting that they would be calling a Vet on "what they need" when those same operators/VA employees could be answering "Peggy" calls...jmo.
  19. Congratulation gooz87 on your award and thanks for your service.
