  1. No problem at all…I just got spun up over it…no harm no foul…we are all brothers here :)
  2. Not looking for sympathy, Phillip, just pointing out how ridiculous it is for a SM to drive 5 miles versus 350 one way for a C&P for PTSD. The first 2 C&P's were taken here, 5 miles away at the JACC VA in Pensacola. Now the third one, because its a special one, has to be done in Gainsville. BTW, there has been no discussion of money, airplane, train, walking or automobile transportation or lodging. That, in itself are the tangibles. I don't think there is enough money I would trade to not have to go through this. Now to the intangibles, I am, have been rated 70% ptsd. I rarely leave my home, in fact my daughter, thank goodness has some sympathy (not that I am looking for it) takes care of my shopping and takes me to my appointments. I take medication that is hazardous to driving. So, what makes this situation more difficult is…I need to find a way to get to said appointment, be able to handle the anxiety of the appointment.(My daughter works) Again, I am not looking for sympathy, just pointing out facts, that are included in my VA medical records. I begged the Army Board of Corrections to not bring me back in the military to complete this MEB. Was it possible to keep me out of the military to accomplish this. The response was, "You are back in the military, magically, and you need to extend for a year to complete this process". I was given that notice in May 13, In June 13, I had a heart attack. I chalk this up to the amount of stress this is causing. Now, to add more stress, I have to jump through hoops to "satisfy" a process I was not afforded when I was administratively discharged E7 at 18 years 9 months due to ptsd. The VA rated my Ptsd to the day I was discharged. For that I say thank you. To the Army, I say kiss my ass! This is so dysfunctional and wasteful. So again, I am not looking for sympathy, just pointing out an observation, along with the original question….Has anyone ever had a C&P at this place? Just a question.
  3. Hey, I was just informed I will have a C&P for PTSD in Gainesville florida. I live about 350 miles away. I live about 5 miles from the VA center here in my town. But the Army with its wisdom has decided that I can only have this exam in a few select locations here in Florida. Tampa, St. Pete, Orlando, Miami, and of course Gainseville. This will be the third C&P for PTSD for me since the original grant in 05. Recently, I have been awarded Social Security Disability, I was medically retired from my civilian job due to PTSD. I begged the MSC guy to let me take it here in my town, but he said no, those were the authorized locations for the ARMY. Has anyone ever had a C&P at this place? Extreme anxiety, a little rage going on here now!!!
  4. I was granted SS disability on Friday, 8 november, first payment will be april 9 2014. I called VA and told them, in hope that would add evidence to IU claim. The lady took the information, read me a "scripted advisement" telling me she would forward this information to VA. Maybe It won't take the whole 8 months as i was advised by VA???
  5. Yes, I have been searching and reading this forum along with another one. I don't know who to contact about my ss grant as far as the VA goes…?? I hate to throw more evidence at them, as i am sure they are overwhelmed with evidence I have already submitted. I figured if they deny my claim, (I can't see how they will, but it is the VA) I will body punch them with this SS grant. I will be in contact with my PEBLO on Tuesday to share this info, as well as send a copy of it to them. I was amazed at the speed of the grant…I still can't believe that.
  6. Yes, it was. SS sent my VA docs paperwork to fill out. They also sent my employer paperwork to fill out, and the same with me. I was amazed at the speed of the grant with SS. i wish the VA could do the same.
  7. Hi all, i don't know how to feel, I am new to social security, I filed in September for SSD. I found out today that i was approved and my first payment will be April 9 2014. I currently have a claim in for IU that was filed near the same time. That claim is still under review. Also, I am waiting for the State to approve disability, as I was a State employee with over 20 years. And last, but it will be last, I am sure..I am currently in the MEB process with packet at Ft. Bliss, E7 with 18 and half years service when I was discharged back in 06 (should have had an MEB then, but my unit administratively discharged me) I had to write the ABCMR to get a fair shake at the MEB, which was approved April this year. I had my initial interview with PEBLO 2 weeks ago. I need someone with some experience to shed some light as to how things may fall. Will the VA see my approved SSD and grant IU? What effect will this have on my MEB? I feel the state is just slow, but should know something this month with a retire date of December 1. I have read how SS is such a pain to get approved, I feel very fortunate that it went off fairly smooth with a first time grant. No appeal, no Doctors besides the VA Docs I see. I use the VA exclusively, so all of my medical records are there. Thanks for taking the time to read this post.
  8. For me..they work to a degree, i did forget about prazosin...helps with dreaming too much at night. Lorazapam is really good in my case. Tazadone and serequel about 30 to 45 min before bed helps
  9. I hope so...I am going to see the VFW rep in a minute to let him look at what I have. I felt that was with my stomach problems too, only to have it go to the BVA and sit for almost 5 years to get a 0% from the va. I did a NOD on that about 2 months ago, and now I filed tdiu, I feel I will not get any resolution any time soon because of the NOD. They will probably take their time with the NOD then get to the IU claim :(
  10. I used Ebenefits to file a TDIU claim. I tried to first file unemployability claim, but it told me I had to first open a claim for increase. So, i opened a claim for increase for ptsd. I am 70% now, but newly unemployed due to ptsd. I had to have 2 physicians statements in order to file for disability from work. I used my 2 VA docs, one was my MH doc. Both wrote I was unemployable due to my SC ptsd, said VOC rehab is a no go. I uploaded those two records, along with a statement from my employer indicating my difficulties at work and also va forms 21-4192 and form va 21-8940 in support of my claim. I did this yesterday and it asked me at the end of the claim if I wanted to do FDC or not. I checked yes for FDC and submitted it. My question is, now do I file the unemployability claim on ebenefits ?? I am confused. Are you supposed to do both or just the one for an increase ...ptsd with secondary unemployability?
  11. The one physician statement/paper stated I: __X___ Severe limitation of functional capacity; permanently incapable of any kind of work; totally and permanently disabled from gainful employment. This was filled out by my PCP at the VA. I am waiting for the other statement from my MH doc at the VA. I should get it on wednesday. The above check mark is on a state of florida disability physicians statement. Also he said primary reason for disability is PTSD, secondary reason is CAD, sleep apnea I am rated 70% ptsd since 2005. 10% hand, 10% tinnitus, 0% reflux with ulcer (I got this rating in july which I NOD with DRO)
  12. oh no....I am entitled to any and all benefits I went to Iraq in 04-05, as National Guard activated under title 10. I was discharged back to the guard from active duty mar 05. I filed for ptsd (70%) in 06 and it was backdated to mar 05. I was discharged (my time was not up I had 18.5 years of service) May 06 due to ptsd. It was if the ptsd happened off duty, nothing to do with the military. However, I was service connected by the VA in 06 and got an approved LOD for it July of this year. What the National Guard and army did was discharge me for medical reasons. At the time of discharge, I was clueless on what was supposed to happen, I took the word of the full time staff, the state surgeon general and others in the chain that this was proper. I would get a 15 year letter and draw retirement at age 60. I have wised up. The ABCMR said there was enough medical records to overturn the discharge, and afford me a MEB/peb and be placed in the ides system if found to be in the LOD. I am waiting on a peblo to call me to start this. I am sc for ptsd, Reflux with ulcer, tinnitus fracture finger. I learned alot on this forum and on another forum for meb. The ABCMR went on to say that if found to be in the line of duty, I will be due all backpay and allowances and or disability less any monies I have already received. I take that to mean any va money I have received. I was an E7. I had to sign an extension friday for one year to be able to have the time on the books to complete the process. I recieved an LES the other day in the mail, no pay due, however I noticed it said over 26 years....E7 over 26.
  13. Today was my last day of work. I turned in 1 physicians statement and waiting on the other one which I hopefully will get on wednesday. I am going out on a medical retirement with the state of Florida, due to mainly ptsd/anxiety and meds. I will be on leave until it gets approved (4 to 8 weeks I was told by HR). I was told to also file for Social security Disability. I did that today also. Is there anything else I should be following up on or doing? Thanks for any positive suggestions. I feel like I am out here all alone.
  14. Got in with the mh nurse today, and she forwarded my fmla paperwork to my doc...while I was there, my PCP called me to tell me the paperwork for medical disability was ready. Just waiting on the MH doc now :(
  15. Yes Pinellas park fl. I think that is where they send all RC soldiers who are facing an MEB go. Once it gets "validated" there it will be farmed out to a active duty MTF for PEB. So you see, I was discharged in 06 due to ptsd, got no due process, and the abcmr said no, bring him back to do an meb/ped and medically retire him from the army. E7 over 26 now. I was E7 over 18 when I was discharged in 06.
  16. I was kicked out in 06 due to ptsd, no severance no meb no nothing...till I got the abcmr involved. They said what the army did was wrong to bring me back in ( i had to sign an extension for one year to complete the meb) My packet was sent to pinellas park on the 27 of august. I was told to go see the VA for my problems. I wasnt given a physical or anything.
  17. Yes, it is powerful berta, makes me tired most of the time. I come home and go to bed most days, if I get up to try and go to work. I recieve all my meds through the va.
  18. Yes,All from VA. I was given a pre HA EKG and blood test if I remember correctly, Than I had a few since the HA.
  19. But, who knows...I still have to do an MEB, where they look at all conditions??? I had to sign an extension last friday when they brought me back in the NG, for 1 year to complete meb/peb
  20. No, Unfortunatley that will be a long claim. I say this because I just recently forund out that quitipine(been on it for 8 years) raises bad cholesterol. I have hyperlypdemia, or high cholesterol that I have been on meds for. So it look like the only way for that to get sc is IMO. Ptsd is sc and so is my stomach problems.
  21. To whom this may concern, My name is XXXXX XXXXXXX. I am the manager of telecommunications for the EEEEEEE county school district. I am XXXXX XXXXXXXX’ supervisor. XXXXXXX has been my employee for the past 20 years. I have enclosed a copy of his official job description in order to explain his difficulties at work. Since his return to work from military service in Iraq (2005), I have noticed his mental soundness, mood, and general health decline. He seems tired all of the time, sometimes falling asleep in the office and he has lost weight. Before he left for service in Iraq, he had rarely been sick and his mood was always upbeat and positive. I could depend on him to accomplish detailed and difficult tasks with out any supervision. He was a model employee. He always got along with other employees, rarely complained, and everyone liked working with him. He was always on time for work and at times stay late to complete work. Today he has another appointment, which I greatly appreciate, as he continues to get the help he needs. However, I have had several meetings over the past year with XXXXXX, discussing his behavior, tardiness, lack of concentration and generally questioning his ability to continue to working. He often comes to work very tired, which worries me because a lot of his duties require driving. I am not really sure as to what may be keeping him from resting at night, but it seems to affect his mood. He has had altercations with other employees, to the point where I have sent him home. He has been very difficult to reason and deal with, especially after his heart attack in June. It seems as if he has become more aggressive and angry. I have discussed this with him. I have managed to keep him employed in hopes that giving him something meaningful in his life would have a positive therapeutic effect. I continue to ask him if he has been taking his medications, which seem to have an effect on his judgment. He prefers working alone, isolated from the other employees. I believe since he has a lot of anxiety, stress, stomach issues all on top of heart problems now, it appears he is more of a liability to himself and others being at work. I feel it would be beneficial for him to seek a medical disability from the State of FFFFFFFF. He has been employed over 20 years for the state of FFFFFF, so he is entitled to this. I have discussed this withXXXXXX and he seems to be in agreement. Your help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. XXXXXX xxXXXXX EEEEEEEE county School Telecommunications Manager 000 000 0000 My current meds are quitipine, lorazapam, sertraline, trazadone
  22. I can repost the employer letter if that would clear anything up.
