  1. Hello everyone, I was recently medical retired from my Government position of Supply Tech after almost 13years because of my PTSD symptoms interfering with the work place.I have now applied for SS and have a exam for my mental conditions even though I am quite sure in my VA medical records as well as private treatment records it should be enough.Yet I am suppose to go and see on of their doctors who don;t know a thing about me or my problems. What should I expect from this visit? Is it sort of like a C&P exam? by the way I am not Service Connected yet for PTSD...waiting on the review from the DRO.Can someone give me a little advice on the SS exam? Thanks
  2. My denial was based on the fact the VA say I have no proof of being in combat, that I am not a Combat Veteran.I presented my DD214 which has the dates of 04Dec 1990-15April1991 in SWA. I requested a copy of my unit history/stressors and it has the incidents recorded.
  3. I was with Fox Troop 2/2ACR as a 19D also, how should I counter their (VA)allegiations that I have no proof of being in combat with this unit?
  4. I hate I missed the issuing of the Combat Action Badge because it would have made my life much easierwith the VA providing proof I was in combat.A 11M and a 19D at the time of Desert Storm where both on a Bradley Fighting Vehicle and dismounted from the back, yet because oof the 11 series MOS he gets a CIB proving he was in combat and a 19D Scout gets nothing but grief ...go figure. Yes I am a civilian employee and I am thinking about Disibility Retirement but would I also qualify for SS Disability as well?
  5. Shall do......and thanks again for your help. dicple13!
  6. Good INFO Mobie,I took care of it this morning and hopefully it will help on my Appea for PTSD.Now I did Fax it to the RO in my area, which was good or bad idea? should I mail a copy as well? Thanks , dicple13.
  7. Mobie, I do not have any Medals's you mentioned, but I will look into receiving them.Yes,I have already had my C&P exam Gaf score 55.To me I had a pretty good examiner she spoke to my wife which is wife #4.Still I got denied.
  8. I am a DAV Member and I also took this problem with the VA to my Congressman and I look forward to my Appeal hearing with the DRO. I just hope all my additional evidence is enough. Like one member stated the problem is linking my service in combat, which I have all the necessary evidence now....hopefully. Again I want to thank everyone for their help.
  9. I know for sure the LES,DD214-215,Buddy Letter,Unit Activity Report, Statement from co-worker,and supervisor but I re-submitted the other evidence as well.
  10. Guess what? I submitted a buddy letter from a guy who not only served with me in 2nd ACR but we also did Basic & AIT together at Ft.Knox he is still in the Army and provided me another letter. I had my DD214-215 have those awards SWA,Kuwaitt and I also received from my unit a Unit Valarous Award ,still a no go. I provided copies of my orders sending me to this unit and orders promoting me fom E-02 to PFC while in Desert Storm with unit. I also had copies of my LES showing I did receive Danger Pay. The first time I just gave up and did not appeal ,but now I am determined to see this through. It's like a game to those people at the VA but do they understand what folks go through and have to put up with just to receive their benefits. It is very frustrating.
  11. You are not going to belive this,I was denied the first time because the VA claim I had no proof of being a Combat Veteran. My MOS was 19Delta Cavalry Scout I was with a Combat Unit, 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment . I do not have any CIB,s Bronze Stars,or a Purple Heart. So, that being said I was not in Combat ,according to the VA. By the way, I appreciate everyone suggestions and information that was provided.
  12. My verifyable in service stressors were receiving small arms fire and was subjected to incoming artillery rounds.I have the documentation supporting those stressors with 2ACR during Desert Storm.Still I got denied, and now I am waiting for the appeal.
