I served in the US Army from 1 AUG 1969 until 4 JUNE 1980.In November 1979
I was sent by my company commander to see a Army doctor because of my
nervous condition.I saw the doctor and he immediately saent me to see an
Army psychiatrist. The psychiatrist told me I needed to be discharged from the
Army.I was discharged with an anxiety disorder (hysterical type),funny thing is
no disability.
I sent all the proper paperwork to VA in 1983 and to weeks after I sent the
paperwork.....I got a letter telling me no service connection so,I did not have
money and gave up.
In 2004 I went to the Veterans clinic and started getting routine medical care.
From 1983 until 2006 my private doctor kept me on Tranxene for my nerves.
Va doctor told me they didn't prescribe medication of this type.
December 2006 my Va medical was discontinued because of the'Means Test'
January 2007 I got angry,..ABOUT TIME RIGHT?I went to my congressman and
told him the story. He applied for paperwork and when it arrived he sent me
to a veterans assistant at my local VA clinic.
I then began the process of sending registered mail in reply to any and all requests
from the VA rating board.
In May 2008 I got a letter rating me at 0% but, was sent to my local VA Clinic to
start getting routine medical care again. My new VA card has 'Service Connected,
on it.
I have since been to a QTC exam which lasred 1-1/2 hours.I am now waiting on
the final paperwork from VA rating board. It was finalized 16 Oct 2008 and they say
I should get the final decision by 30 Oct 2008.
28 years plus and waiting folks. Wish me luck please.
Robert.
