  1. UPDATE! I won my appeal... 30% for removal of uterus... 1 year pay at 100% for cancer diagnosis and smk pay for loss of creative organ... the 30% didn't change my already rating of 80%

  2. Well here is the medical opinion given by the VA doc I saw for my comp & pens exam... "Therefore, per the question posed, this veteran's HPV finding in service is most certainly related to the squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix/hysterectomy." So I feel pretty confident they will approve and rate... My questions was really once this happens, how will affect my already rating at 80%
  3. Thanks Sharon... How will this affect my 80% currently do you think?
  4. Ok I am learning to use this thing LOL... Tbird to give a good answer to you questions... The HPV finding was in service due to an abnormal pap which hpv ultimately led to the post status cervical cancer and hysterectomy.
  5. No but I had the abnormal pap w/ the HPV finding in service which ultimately led to the cancer. Thanks... I am learning LOL Thanks... I am learning LOL
  6. I am sure I am not the only one with questions regarding female related service connections and maybe this will help someone else too. Of course I have read the other post revealing other opinions regarding female service connected issues... I will try to make this simple. I currently have an appeal case and attended my c&p exam this week. I had always had normal paps but when I got married I had high grade dysplasia w/hpv effect in 1998...I filed for SC for that in July of 08. They flat out denied it being service connected even tho the medical evidence is there... and I appealed of course, requesting DRO review...also adding cervical cancer/hysterectomy related to the hpv. Yes I am only 32 and it is young however, when the biopsy was done the cancer went beyond the margins so the most effective treatment. I probably would not have filed for this but since Hpv is the leading cause of cervical cancer and in MY CASE resulted from this that was diagnosed in service I finally decided to file. Of course 10yrs ago was when HPV was just begining to come to light and its effects. Anyway, I went this morning got the c&p report and his words are "Therefore, per the question posed, this veteran's HPV finding in service is most certainly related to the squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix/hysterectomy." They removed cervix, uterus and partial of one ovary... why they did that hell only knows but i had a tumor on my ovary and they left part of an ovary UGH... which resulted in a tubo/ovarian abscess that nearly killed me because I thought they took my ovary and I thought it was my appendix. Ultrasound failed to detect an ovary but surgery report says they didn't take it all...SO...I dont know where that leaves me as far as ovaries are concerned. So my question is if anyone knows... I am currently rated at 80%... 50 for depression, 10 for degenerative disc disease of the Lspine, 10 right knee surgical repair, 10 left knee surgical repair, 10 right hip bursitis, 10 left hip bursitis, and 10 for jaw dislocation/tmj How might his affect my rating when its processed? and what maybe do I have to look forward to as far as back pay with the dates...seeing as its july of 2010!! Hopefully I am posting in the correct thread....I appreciate all help and if that even means reposting on another thread to get some answers. Thanks!
