  1. I currently 100% because of Prostate Cancer, filed a new claim for Heart disease last Sept 2010, received letter that I was 10% for Heart disease until Heart test, had Heart test C&P for Heart and C&P for Prostate, received very good outcome for these C&P's. The C&P for Heart states I have congestive heart problems, the C&P for the Prostate states I still have Prostate cancer even though my Prostate was removed. I have copies of the C&P's. Filed new claim for CLL, Chronic Leukemia, claim filed in April 2011, My oncologist sent letter to VA, My VA Doctor has Lab report stating I have CLL. The C&P's were done this year in April, 15 2011, no results from these C&P's, just received new letter from VA, it says processing your application for compensation, it doesn't say for what claim. I have been 100% disabled since March 2008. I am not P&T, I requested 100% P&T because of CLL, CLL is not curable. After I got this letter stating they are processing my application for compensation, any idea about the wait time, I am in Tennessee, I go to Nashville and Murfresboro for exams and C&P's.
  2. Just talked to VA Admin, he was just calling to setup a consult with the urologist, wanted to check to see if date and time was OK. Thanks for the advice. I just thought it was unusual to get a phone call and not a letter.
  3. Hi, I have Prostate Cancer, over 2 years ago I had the Prostate removed, I have been on 100% disability since, I had a C&P a year ago last April, kept me at 100%. I always go to the VA Doctors whenever I am scheduled. Today I received a phone call from a Mr Brackford, he left a message on the phone, just saying he was a VA administrator and that I needed to call him. Has anyone ever had this experience. When I called the number he gave me, there was no answer. Anyone have any ideas what this may be about.
  4. Thank You my fellow brothers, you all are a great help. I'll report back after my C&P.
  5. I have prosate cancer, the prostate was removed April 2008, we (DR and I), have been watchful waiting to see what is goin on with the PSA. From the Lab report after the prostate was removed, show the cancer went out side the prostate. PSA was 1st one .01, ON 5/20/08 then it went to 0.1, 9/30/08, went down, .03 11/08, in JAN 09 BACK TO 0.1. NOW AT .05, MAR 09. i HAD MY 1ST c7p IN Nov 08, received a letter in Jan informing me cutting comp down to 60%. Went to the VA Murfreesboro, TN, consult with Dr Mobley, Chief of Urology, he looked at Lab Report, examined me, wrote this report. Impression, 1. Residual prostate Ca as evidenced by a 10X increase in the psa, and the pathologcal specimen from prostatomy. 2. Refractory impotence aka loss of the use of a creative organ. 3. Debiliatating urinary incontinence requiring significant pads and devices. 4. Persistanent prostate cancer will require radiation therapy or hormonal manipulation per Dr. Mansur's discretion. Summary: Patient has active prostate cancer and is dealing with the sequelae of attempting to remove it. Will experience even more morbidity with further treatment and doubt that his cancer is curable. I am going for my second C&P, Apr 4, 09, this time I go to Nashville, TN 1st C&P was at Murfreesboro, TN. Yes it's on a Saturday. After I received the letter from the VA that they were cutting my disability payment, I wrote them a letter disputing their decision. After I receive this report from the Urology Dr, DR. Mobley, I sent the VA the report. Give me some advise as to what may be going on? Regards Hank Hoogenboom
  6. In Apr 2008, my Prostate was removed because of cancer. In Jan 2009, I will have another PSA test, if it has gone up that means the cancer is still in me. I had a C&P examine in Nov 2008, how do I get my C&P updated to show I still have prostate cancer and need to have radiation to get rid of all of the cancer?
  7. Thank You for all of the answers you have provided. The VA is a tough place to find out information, they certainly don't give veterans much help. Thanks for this forum, it's the best!!!
  8. The VA pays you 100% for 6 months after your surgery or whatever you decide to do to get rid of the cancer. This has happened. After the 6 months there is a mandatory C&P examine, that just happened. The C&P examine or interview is to determine what the after effects are from the surgery. ie: number of pads used a day, how long before you have to go again, how often do you get up at night. I received 10 months of 100% disability. I am waiting for the result from my C&P examine, after my surgery. I received my last check on Nov 1, if I DON'T HEAR from the VA before Dec 1 about their decision on my C&P examine, will I get any disability check at all? and how much will it be? If I hear from the VA, that letter will tell me my adjusted disability percent.
  9. I applied for disability when I found out I had prostate, that was in Feb this year. I have been receiving 100% since Feb this year.
  10. Yes I had surgery, the C&P is to see what type of problems I am having. When the biopsy was done, the cancer went outside of the Prostate, currently my PSA is 0.1. The C&P examiner asked about how many pads, how often I had to go, how often I had to get up at night. She said I has Stress Incontinence.
  11. I am receiving 100% disability because of Prostate Cancer. I just had a C&P review Nov 2008, does my current disability percent continue until I receive a new C&P result, based on the C&P examine.
