  1. This is fantastic news. Hopefully more Senators will now sign on.
  2. I think your right. Would sure like to know if, and how many claims have been won using this.
  3. Determinations as to Whether a Veteran “Engaged in Combat With the Enemy” for Purposes of 38 U.S.C. § 1154(:D Is this the latest regulation that the DVA is supposed to follow? I have a copy dated October 18, 1999. I have searched high and low and can't find a newer revision.
  4. I'll be there, under the pseudonym of "saltydog". Phil E.
  5. I'm sorry Berta, I think I responded to this post without checking out the heading. I was referring to T.I. as being on "The Super-fund List", and about asbestos. Again, I apologize, Phil E
  6. I haven't the foggiest idea where to start.
  7. This is what my uroligist told me: If you get SC, then you would receive 100% for 6 months, and then dropped to 30%. If you have to go through radiation or chemo, it goes back to 100% until they get a handle on it. But it will always remain at least 30% because of the possibility of cancer returning. Plus you can receive an extra 90$-100$, for losing a creative organ. I'm still trying to get mine SC. So I keep my claim open, just in case.
  8. Was stationed there for about 2 months before deploying for the east. I ran a clean-up crew. This is good info.
  9. john999, I had a chemical stress done 2 weeks ago at the Sac. VA hospital (Mather). Had one guy on the machine, 1 doctor administering the dosage and a nurse outside the room with a crash-cart. The doc told me I could stop at any time I felt like. And a docotor is supposed to be present at all times of the procedure. Anyhow, they kept asking me questions, if I was thirsty, dizzy, pains, short of breath, and others. I said no to all. They kept looking at each other the whole time, and saying I should feel something. I didn't experience any discomfort. They probably thought I was almost dead. But I was tired that morning and could have slept thru the test. Oh, and I'm 58, and age might come into play for the stress test. My heart was great, so I was ok'ed for prostate surgery. My test only lasted about 1 hour. Just my story.
  10. Thanks, Stretch A former shipmate who separated 2 years after I did, sent me a copy of his. Wow, all the difference in the world. He had them all listed. So, I guess I'll just wait for my DD-215. Thanks again!
  11. Thank you Berta. What I meant, was that the Navy told me I was in Vietnam. I received my CAR and VSM aboard ship. No, I never set foot on ground. That is whats confusing to me. I thought somewhere it stated that if you were a combat veteran that you were eligible for SC disability. Again, a big thank you for your help. Guess I'll just kick back for a couple of years and see what transpires in the Haas case. Mean while, I'll bombard all my states Reps and Sens. with faxes and emails hoping they support HR 6562 this next year.
  12. Hi all! Been browsing the site for some time, and finally joined today. I have scoured all the posts looking for answers pertaining to my question, and didn't find what I was looking for. If I have overlooked something, please be gentle with me. I received my CAR on Sept. 1972 in Nam. My DD214 has it, but no VSM (received it on ship). I have sent for a 215 a week ago. Anyhow, the VA denied my SC saying I was Vietnam Era. Have prostate cancer, a tumor in my right femur (they have been trying to get a biopsie, but the prostate surgery keeps pushing it back), and a few others that are on the presumptive list. I filed a NOD with my VSO, and he stated I didn't have much of a chance. But in my way of thinking, a CAR is the same as being in country. Got combat pay and all, but no boots on ground. Would like other member opinions on what I can do, if anything. Am I in the Haas debacle for the duration?
