  1. mine is all based on physical injuries and none of it is based on PTSD( or any psychologically )related issues
  2. Yes-I have received the final written decision on claims-no-none of this is based on PTSD/or other non physical injuries
  3. I was just awarded 100% combined rating(from 80% TDIU)-new claim decision does not say anything re being permanent vs temporary.Am I eligible to do some work and earn some income?what are limitations if any?It also does not state anything re future physical exams etc.Just want to know what the rules are. Thanks to all.
  4. I am 100% TDIU. I have Rx coverage with a former civilian employer, but with a large co-pay.I have been to VA pharmacy to get Rx's filled, but a lot of the medicine I have to take, they don't have and can't fill. Is there any reimbursement for co-pay amount under these circumstances? If so,how do you go about claiming it,what forms, etc. Thanks
  5. I have been on 100%tdiu-no exams, etc. for some time.I have prescription coverage from civilian employment and am over 65-with medicare, etc. Question-I still end up with a sizable deductable on the many Rxs I have to take. How does Champ work?I understand I don't qualify for tri care. What is the procedure to use/claim champ-is it worthwhile-how do you claim, receive it, etc.?Thanks
  6. What is the standard(or wording) as far as establishing service connection by IMO Drs opinion.I have read it somewhere before, but can't seem to find it on the site.In other words the legal standard that must be met to have opinion satisfy the standard of service connection-like in criminal case its" beyond a reasonable doubt", in some civil matters its a" preponderence",others, its " more likely than not",or "at least as likely", or "might be"
  7. not that this matters-but had double total knees done(same time)-next day-put a belt around my waist and made me get up standing-the phrase "have no good leg to stand on" has a profound meaning to me-also interesting and a challenge-trying to go to the bath room(think about it) having just had a double knee replacement
  8. treat yourself to a well earned vacation .You have earned it.
  9. I have had severe issues with back, disc issues.Had MRIs,etc-went to several Drs.-the ortho who did my double knee replacement suggested that I try inversion table.I asked him if it was ok with double knee replacement-he said no problem .It has not been a problem and has helped-I have also had numerous spine injections and the other back surgeon I had gone to of course wants to operate-which I am trying to avoid. To answer your question-the inversion table has helped me and even with me having had double knee replacement-not a problem.I would think it would not be too much for your knees, but just an opinion based on my experience
  10. Turned in reg/return receipt reply requesting hearing along with form 21-4140,along with new statements from my Drs. showing me to be fully disabled and permanately unable to work,The letter I received from VA says" if form 21-4140 and all necessary info which certifies you remain unemployed is submitted within 60 days-no action will be taken to discontinue this benefit."
  11. I use one at the advice of one of my orthopedic doctors-it seems to help some what.I am trying to avoid another knife after my double knee,etc.-of course the back surgeon(not the ortho who told me to try the inversion-wants to cut.
  12. I am taking my hearing request to Regional VA in person this coming week.I am of course going to get it date, time stamped as received.I am attaching a new form 21-4140 which correctly shows unable to work.I am getting new verifications from my Doctors which will show my total disability and inability to work. Question-I am 66 years old-should I include that as a point in addition to the forgoing,or does that matter, help, etc.
  13. I got TDIU some time ago(as I should have)I was an attorney by former profession-I was sent questionairre @ whether I had worked in last 12 months-I do what I have to do to maintain my license -CLE education,etc-also/ I did a will and maybe one other matter-very low income-less than 9000$ or less in one year maybe I did not fill out form correctly-I dont know how to answer the question in that I am still an attorney- but they are trying to reduce my TDIU to 80%-my Drs will say I cant work-but how do I address this mess-thanks for my HADIT friends Is there some case that says that marginal employment is not enough to cancel TDIU-also should I go to local VA office and seek assistance-I know to and will answer by Reg Mail. They are trying to say that I worked for twelve months-but I really did not-other than being licensed-I cant work physically-as my Dr will say I am 66 years old/also on social security
  14. The TDIU rating I got says permanent in nature,no future exams scheduled,Dependent's assistance under 38 USC.This may very well be as good as it gets.Do I seek any change from this/or leave well enough alone. Thanks for input from all of you(dang this stuff is confusing)
  15. I was granted TDIU @ two years ago.I want to put in for 100% permanent and total. My condition has worsened, and after repeated back injections, surgery is only option. In severve pain (back and knees) which is not controlled by pain meds.Often bedridden from back pain, which gets worse when I am on my feet(from severe to intolerable)for even short periods of time.I have records from Doctors, surgeons for treatment I have received After the TDIU rating. My internist will state my condition will not improve.also have cardiac issues,etc.-not service related.Any pointers or advise for those who have gone from TDIU to 100% permananent and total? Thanks
  16. LarryJ-thanks-I have been remiss in not doing so.I learn something new every day.
  17. The post was not intended to be a complaint. It was really intended to be a "light" joking comment.I guess we don't all share the same sense of humor.Sorry.
  18. T Bird,Elders,etc.-recently posted something. My profile came up and looks like I have been demoted, busted,or something.I seem to remember my rank as being higher. Thanks Atlaturne
