So do you see anything good in here, Ive said, or you have seen. It amazes me since I started this the people that Ive run into that are ready to assume the position.....of Devils advocate, arm chair Attorney. More specificlly the other day I talked to some guy from "the veterans corner" a little online publication. All I asked this jerk was if he knew of a good and aggressive attorney that had gotten approvals aplenty from the vro in my area. HES in my area too. He strted with the DA and went into armchair adv, only to say nop Ive no clue, when I asked the original question again. First time in my life I called him a jerk, told him not to ever call me again.There comes a time, when we'll enjoy crumbs, dont want the whole cake, JUST GIVE ME SOMETHING HERE, BUT MORE GRIEF, ya knw what I mean. Dont personalize because thats not meant to be aimed directly at you Carlie, I was just relating my experiences. Why are people so happy to assume the position......Mystic

Truedat, and up till now my track record sucks. Therin lies my terror, along with the rest. I figure what Ive done looks good so far, I was scared to death to ASK ANYBODY FOR ANYTHING. So those letters, dont underestimate, that was HARD, but I did it.Im still terrified of a disapproval. M.

Good Morning carlie. fibromyalgia is physical, right shoulder strain, neck strain, all physical. These issues addresses by pain specialist and neuro. Neuro is also a neuro psychiatrist and comment ed on physical AND mental. Anesthesiologist/Pain Managment dealt with PHYSICAL ONLY. M.

Part 4 looks the least intimidating, but Ive got to tell you. MY BRAIN WITH PTSD dpesnt willingly process this stuff. Youre smarter than I , if this is what you do for shts and giggles. Not something I WILL EVER ABsorb completely, no way , no how. Thats waht vso's , attorneys and judges are for, imho. Mystic PS Overwhelmed doesnt even begin to describe how I feel lookin at part 3 and the last link.!

Carlie and John, When I decided to go ahead and try to get the claim re-opened, I went to a VSO Id heard was good. He asked me to talk to my Civilian Psychologist of 2.5 years and ask for a letter. My therapist is a Vietnam Vet and familir w/ most thing Military. I took him my SMR's, as well as Dave Mackeys Nexxus letter. Various other med records, etc. Based on our discussions and what he saw in my records, he wrote a nexus letter. Ptsd, Major Depression, all scd's. I took his letter and gave a copy of it to my neurologist , who Ive seen for 3 years. Initaially he dxed me with fibro in 1995, and lacking med insurance the VA took care of me (lol!) from 1995 to 09 when I strated seeing my board cert. neuro (who is also a board cert. Neuro-psychiatrist)again, for good this time. My Neuro read my request and Militaty narrative, all my med, mental records, and dxed me with the scd of fibro, right shoulder and cervical neck strain scd's also.Additionally, SEVERE PTSD, and superimposed of the ptsd, Major depressive disorder. My OTHER Doctor of 2.5 years for chronic pain managment concurred with my Neuro. Hes Board Cert in Anesthesiology, and added that for the record I was completley and totally disabled upon leaving the Military at twenty years old, even tho I worked another 12 years till I got ssd. I had a costly habit of eating, and renting a roof over my head.He indicated a few other "trauma" issues all tagged scd's by him too. So Carlie thaat is how they came to their conclusion. Part observationa and part professional opinions after reading all my SMR's and some outside. My record keeping , part Civilain was almost non- existant.Didnt think to ask, and all was purged after so long.John Im getting to you, but its bedtime and Ill have to finish tomorrow. Im seesawing so much Im driving myself mad, I tell you. appt w/ therapist tonight. My vso says that in light of the content of drs letters va has no choice but to open it up for appeal. He is the kinda guy who wont join the teeter totter, and say vso's that give people false hope are full of it, and he wont. He did however say tody my claim looks good. So I hope and then something will come up and its te depths of despair, worrying into the night. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! M.

But my Civilain neuro-Psychiatrist basically says in part. "its right there in her medical records, plain as day"

Progress Notes and Treatment records, Sept 27-1999-Sept. 12, 2002 VAMC Bay Pines Medical Ctr My inpatient treatment was for the satp program, and court order. Ive been a teetotaler for 3 years now and an entire 13 years while my Son was growing up. Several other times.Aim to stay that way. Mystic

"It sounds like your claim issues are past the allotted time frame for an appeal." Hi Carlie! It is, you are right. I submitted nothing but the Nexus, ever. My vso leads me to believe that the drs. letters stating unequivocally that these things are scd's.Also, the last denial claimed Id no evidence of an abortion, but my smr's reflect that it happned and I had a one month check up post abortion. Im thinking, hoping these things are enuff.They arent va drs, but still.....My records from va med. say Ive borderline pers disorder, and thats not true. Per all my Civilain Drs. I wouldnt go for va med if my life depended on it, st pete is THAT BAD, and biased against women, IMO M.

I feel SO alone, and with my underbelly showing..My last clim was in 2000. I made the mistake of saying in my 15 page letter that went with the claim, tht "if this claim isnt approeved, I cant go thru this again, its too painful." Then I got the NOD, disapproved. the letter was so mean, and I personalized every word,sylabble. So much that It tokk me until this past year to be able to face it again. Im thinking no 15 page letter. Do I need to writye a letter at all, they dont need another script. Seriously, do I need to write a letter with this request to open for appeal. M.

I have a vso. Ive been turned down 6 x. Im getting ready to ask for them to open my appeal back up, with some documentation from me (3 drs letters, and my old vet ctr therapists nexuss). Ptsd is in my med records, but from my childhood, which is wrong. Other than my therapist my drs never spent more than 5 mins w/ me, much less make me open up about childhood, IF it was an issue. M.

Hi, Im bewildered by all of this. I feel brain damaged with the ptsd, how do yall remember all of this stuff. I really dont know what Ill do, if they turn me down again. Its been a tough row to hoe, no sht. Im lucky to be alive, because Ive tried the other way, not my time I guess. Will a congressional oversight help or hurt more.

St Pete is the office ive got to go thru too. Maybe not after reading that sept 09 case, in st pete. One smart cookie there!cue would be sooooo good. They said there was no evidence of a pregnancy or abortion in my msr, but they had it. Saw it in my cfile. They said my vet ctr. mh counselor wasnt qualidified to rate me scd for ptsd, and dint read a single file past the nexxus letter he prepared. it was the meanest denial letter anybody could ever received. yeah, yer one messed up mf, but no from US! Wings, not to interrupt, but is it okay to talk on this thread, or should I start my own. Should it be about L56, and her (Hi L56, and GL with yer claim, Ill say a prayer for u!) claim, if its a quick question. Like Will getting a Congressional oversee help or hinder my claim more than anything?I was thinking of Corrine Brown, D-Florida, and is on the VA committee. Thank you Carlie. I was able to find it and read most if the"meat" of it. They could be talking about me, it rang so true. Sad, that ANYBODY would have to endure this, all for having answered the call and being female.I hope nobody ever asks me if it eventually stops aching, gets easier.
