The VA has proven time and again it cannot fix itself, so when Congress stirs up a buncha dust and declares the VA will now fix itself - they are lying. We have hope in Bob but this Beast is much larger than Bob or any of us. It may take non-traditional means to bring about any improvement from this Monster.

I wonder if this was The Plan from the beginning of Choice: blockade veterans from actually getting better care then redirect the funds. Not implausible with this criminal cabal.

Yeah I initially got better responses with IRIS. After moving to another area now I just get canned letters like that after the local office ignores my request for information. I think IRIS really varies by location.

It's their way of 're-allocating' VA Choice funds to cover their budget shortfall.

Agreed with vet- I'm sorry you're dealing with these shenanigans but be very careful about revealing you recorded at federal facility- they like to protect their own.

Good luck 'firing' a VSO- I sent numerous notarized letters and saw the copies in my records but their computer STILL shows the VSO I fired years ago. I also contacted the VSO directly in writing and they said they'd take care of it. Maybe the only way for it to 'take' is to select a different POA.

Our highly-educated leaders are either ignorant or idiots; who would put union people in charge of sending veterans to non-union providers? With all of the VA's failures and proven lack of integrity, what would make a thinking person let them have ANY part of VA Choice? Congress is well-aware of the VA horrors and band-aids are the best they are willing to put on them.

Veterans suffer and die because of people like her- may she be the first snowball in an avalanche.

Agreed with Marine- I had an existing prescription and got 2 pair for $99 at Penneys (lotta places offer this). Not top of the line but was worth it not to deal...............

Veterans are not aliens with unique body systems that only VA's specialized equipment and training can handle; it is absurd to run a parallel healthcare system on the backs of vets and their families who must travel unreasonable distances Past many appropriate providers to keep The VA open. Shut this beast down and let the civilian system bolster itself for the increase. Those VA workers qualified to work for civilian providers can just lateral over- the rest can flip burgers.
