  1. Voc rehab helped me out and I finished my degree, which in the current economic situation in our country, doesn't mean nearly as much as it did 3 years ago when I started. I haven't been able to find anying in my degree field but I did get a job offer if I get a additional training which is about $10,000-15,000 I have over 25 months of training left and I have been dealing with voc rehab to get the 2 month of training that will get me at least one of the jobs. The career councilor keeps going back to old injuries in my record to say I can't do the job. However, the medical problems they keep pointing at are things that were proven to be 100% now but it's still an issue. I've mentioned some other careers in my area that are hiring but he always pulls something from my record that makes me disqualified, and although I have had injuries in the army, most of the problems are go to go now. When I ask him what he wants me to do, he just keeps pulling out $20-25k a year jobs that have nothing to do with my area of expertise stock boy at JCPennys or jobs that are 500 miles away that still pay about $10 an hour which wouldn't even pay the bills I've incurred after my medical separation. It's difficult to put up with this when I have a 60K year job which is what I've done for 25 years but I just need training and I'm working again. The councilor has even talked to the employer and verified it. Anyone have any ideas to get it going? The Voc Rehab counselor in the area of the training said they will take on my file if he request it to be transferred there but my counselor says he needs to go through about 5 people before he can even ask them to take my file. Also, I filled out a VA FORM 21-4138 (Statement in Support of Claim) almost 4 months ago and my counselor, to this day, has not submitted it. It sits in my file. Finally, he told me that it will not be approved and the reason he gave be was "just because they can". I asked him if they can put the reason in writing and he said they would not. I don't even know where to go from here because they won't give me a reason for it but they keep throwing medical stuff in my face that has nothing to do with the job. Where do I go from here? Can anyone help with this? Thanks and I hope I can contribute to this site in the future.
