  2. A friend was connected for tinnitus, 10%. He said he is receiving $129 a month? This sound correct? Thought it was 10% of the $2900?
  3. Tbird and Berta its been awhile since my last visit. You will not remember but thanks for all your help and to everyone else, thank you for being there. I have a friend, Pearl, she will doing some checking for her hubby, Don. She is new to hadit. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and have a Happy New Year. Billy
  4. Thanks Pete, I am satisfied with what I have, I believe the hearing is for the 50 to 70% MDD I was requesting. Since then I have been raised to 70% MDD and 100% TDIU and just don’t feel like messing with the VA any more, bill
  5. The VA rated me 70% MDD and 100% TDIU about a year or so ?????? Cannot remember the exact date. Now I receive a notice of a hearing I requested 3-4 years a go. What would you recommend? I am happy with what I have and do not want to drive a long distance. Should I just ignore the notice, should I respond and say I no longer require a hearing? Any help, bill
  6. What is Crdp, I've gone to Definitions and can't seem to find it, bill
  7. ANSWER "It starts on the effective date listed in your award letter" Question? "On Sept 10, 2007 a decision was made" and goes on to say I have been awarded 100% TDIU. Then the letter says " This entitlement is as of Aug 31, 2005" What date does the va consider my effective date.? thanks, bill
  8. what date did my 100% tdiu start? the day i filed my claim in 2003 or the date of the tdiu was awardedin 2007? thanks, b
  9. i started my case june of 03 and about a year ago i was awarded 100% tdiu. whan does the tdiu go into effect? when i open my case or when i was awarded 100% for tdiu? is there a time limit the va can no longer screw with you? I am 70% mdd, 10% tinnitus and 0 % loss of hearing. thanks bil
  10. Ryan, I'm not going to comment on you case, although I think you have a strong case, but I noticed at the bottom of you listing you say "spinning my wheels for two years", you are NOT spinning your wheels as long as you keep your face in theirs. My friend told me the VA would like nothing more then for you to quit. DON"T DO IT. There is a lot of great people here to help, hang in there, it will come, bill
  11. cowgirl, I was discharged 1962, in 2003 a vet said I should file a claim, I told him he was crazy as hell, there wasn't anything wrong we me!. I filed june 2003, I went to Palo Alto about 6-8 months ago. It's been some time since I was in the service! you can see I am 70% MDD and 100% TDIU, it can happen, bill
  12. I went to Palo Alto medical center in California for TBI testing. I had two days of tests. Once a lady came to get me for a test and took of like she was running a race, I let her go till she was out of sight, she finally slowed down. Set your comfortable pace, tell them to slow down if you cannot walk that fast. Among others I saw an eye doctor, she explained to me why I have a hard time reading. For some reason (TBI) when I looked from right to left my eyes track fine but from left to right my eyes would stop right in the middle then move on, she told what the name is???? Caused by TBI. In secession with the shrink I had to start at the beginning of a maze, take a pencil and draw my way out, she told me do not LIFT the pencil, two out of three mazes I lifted the pencil. (TBI) This person showed me a picture of stock of celery, I could even think of its name. She said C CEL CELER and finally I said celery. (TBI) She also told me this was a test and I received points, I didn’t get many points for the word celery. The therapist had me stand on one foot, not too much of a problem for either foot BUT when I closed my eyes I could only do it for about two seconds. (TBI) After the two days my report showed, in their words, I had 16 of the 17 symptoms of PTSD. Good luck with your test. bill
  13. FYI I emailed the "Champva Chat Line" and there reply, If your wife is a CHAMPVA beneficiary and you were to pass away, she would continue to be eligible for CHAMPVA benefits. If she were to remarry before the age of 55 she would lose her benefits. Once she is 65 years old, she must enroll in Medicare part B, if she is eligible, and must send CHAMPVA a copy of her Medicare card. If she is not eligible for Medicare at age 65, she must obtain a letter from Medicare, explaining why she is not eligible and a copy of the letter must be sent to CHAMPVA.
  14. Thanks Pete, I'll do that, bill
  15. I understand the 10 years, what happens if I kick the bucket in a week. Would she be able to keep the champva.
