  1. with all the billions funded to VA for IT upgrades, i could see that same employee that is making a copy of one's C-file onto paper, (of course not in order we vets do that after we get it), to have had those sheets scanned into digital also. that technology has been around for years and quite evolved now. btw, i didn't see anything of new on my accnt on e-benefits.its rare if any item relating to claim or such is up to date there. just my experience though
  2. i keep forgetting the e-benefits thing. my brain just found it confusing and not up to date. but, i'll try it now that you reminded me about it. thanks
  3. ok, that explains that. appreciate it. no, its not a c&p. a fee basis request for a non-va health specialty clinic
  4. how can one check to find out the location of their c-file? recently an admin worker at local VA hospital mentioned he was looking at my medical record to see about civilian medical procedure they may authorize. i want to be sure that wasn't my c-file where a claim is supposed to be working on.
  5. http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/taking-first-step-veterans-affairs_795989.html as the weeklystandard articles reads, "its ugly", finely some journalists are writing about deeper issues at VA than just the wait lists! such as low standard for quality determinations. as i started this thread regarding the VSO that barely calls for va accountability, which i find shameful, just how does that VSO(pva) think such things as "low standard for quality determinations" were going to be fixed. i've lost so much respect for this VSO and others that just want more money tossed into VA and carry on biz as usual.
  6. http://michellemalkin.com/2014/06/25/exposed-how-the-va-red-flags-disruptive-vets/ have you ever complained to VA about something, and next visit get the feeling you were being treated a little differently? or a guard shadow you, you were thinking? well, here's another "va list" thing many of us thought existed in some form but didn't know for sure. looks like it actually does exist.
  7. if that were to happen, i would hope the corrupt arm of influence from VA/fed is gone to where vets actually get a fair shake regarding correct diagnosis and if disability warranted that too. whereas so many vets before and now spend years fighting for that against a gamed system. but Congress has knows this crap for years. its all documented but biz as usual. is this America or russia?
  8. very much agree. seeing CNN last nite VA is in full CYA mode and damn anyone that counters them. and some of us have to go to VA for so called healthcare(ration). almost contributes to my symptoms. funny but not so funny.
  9. i think fair would suit us all very well. but for me, it is way past fair, and i don't mean that in a good way. i hope the VA has worked out well for you.
  10. some of it. between the IRS and VA, hows that striking ya these days? ;-)
  11. Sanders did water down the accountability provisions when it got to his chamber so you're probably right. sure looks that way. sad to say or predict, looks like it will be business as usual with the same suspects they'll just have more money and be more emboldened. hope i'm wrong, but ...
  12. i think most of us who have dealt with VA have most certainly run into that attitude you write of, "you can't touch me..." more times than we would like. from what i've seen recently on news, Congress and this Gibson guy aren't really going to fix/overhaul the VA at all. they certainly could begin to fix it in short time, they have the power, but as others here wrote, too much money in some of these corrupt peoples pockets
  13. i take it this holds true for some VSO's? why this one barely mentions accountability in comparision to some of the other VSOs that jumped on it right from the get go. lets assume that is true, there must be some serious conflict of interest?
  14. it must be impossible as we're seeing this unfold. and to me, this will only embolden this corruption even more and with even more billions as they ration healthcare to veterans versus actual healthcare
  15. i see the VFW, AL, others writing more specific about accountability at VA in light of new VA wait-lists scandal, etc. however, from another VSO, at the below link, i don't see much call for accountability this link shows the other VSO and their requests to Congress regarding the new HR 4810 & S 2450 bills under review. i don't see that much about accountability with regards to correcting much of anything at VA. if its there, then i missed it: http://www.pva.org/site/apps/nlnet/content2.aspx?c=ajIRK9NJLcJ2E&b=6350111&ct=13996439&notoc=1 i don't see how an org such as VA can really be fixed of all the corruption without real accountability. versus say just a few scapegoats, tossing billions back at it, letting it investigate itself, deflecting root causes to the ether, etc. i applaud pva for asking for some good things for us veterans, but, its odd they don't seem to want any real accountability at VA. that letter at first read, just seems like more of the same ol same ol, except for more money, bigger bandaids, now blaming infrastrcture & IT for much of the access problems(really?), etc. is PVA reading any of the whistleblowers accounts and investigative journalist reports these days? new billion dollar hospitals were built, yet the books were still cooked at multi-locations? not an infrastructure problem! appointments canceled widespread in last part of year, then veterans med record show a "no show" for appt in new year that just happened to be canceled just before last year ended. not an IT problem. that's a widespread VA culture human greed problem cooking books. and the very tip of this iceberg. i've heard the same reasons for over 20 years of what the VA needs. since no one is really held accountable, it just keeps going on and growing. current news reports validate this.
  16. those contributing factors would be equally hard on surviving family members who see the va never acknowledged them the ibs/gastro issues started about same time (spinal injury/ then csf infection/then ms) started. mil med rec's show i started seeing doctors about then. never did before. i'm gonna file. appreciate the help and feedback
  17. you're correct in that it is an internal medicine issue. since i hear of its link with ms, i bring it up with neuro. i'll just mention it to PCP again. Good Veterans Day to each and all here who gave and continue to give. a Salute to you all!
  18. @free_spirit_etc & @pete992: i'm going to file for it. i have a folder with 20+yrs of gastro complaints and a number of years of VA diagnosis list showing IBS. as to a neuro yes that is true, the listing on medical conditions page, va med reccords, but not on any claims. though VA is supposed to thoroughly check MS secondary condtions when diagnosised with MS. in my case, they granted MS at 30% then just dropped it. PVA wrote them and reminded them of the secondary issues. they scheduled exams and the 100+ percentage was then granted a year later or so. did i miss the link you sent? i guess that goes along with what all neuro's outside VA tell us in groups and so does my civilian neuro. funny, but no one at VA mentions stuff like this. and yes its the VA neuro that basically just never dicusses it when i bring it up. its a little difficulet for me, when neuro passes stuff to PCP, PCP says its a neuor thing, they look up records on computer but only discuss years old tests versus newer ones, that sort of thing. bring it up and the response is computer isn't working or they can't access stuff. you know? but pete995 is right in that it is an internal medicine issue, i'll just have to bring it up with PCP again.
  19. exactly the reason i posted here, for others
  20. i think you did get one of the good ones. when i left the navy years ago, that is how the nav surgeon spoke of the VA and i would do well there. glad you have found a good one. i hear of those stories from time to time. best of luck and health
  21. yeah, a pva member the other day remarked i wasn't even sick while on active duty. i asked them to look into an issue with a va doc's strange request recently, and never heard back. so, disorganized, yeah i'd say so. nor would they file a claim i asked them to. they didn't leave me much of a choice and i really tried. just wondering who could be my advocate now? at this va i've never had much luck in them helping me with issues. they say they will/do, but the action-trail is basically empty. personnally, i think pva is way too tied to va and dc. i must not be alone in that thought after having read some letters sent in to editor of the pvs PN magazine.
  22. for years VA had me listed with IBS, i guess, due to years of gastro complaints, issues, visits. i noticed when i was SC'd for MS, VA no longer lists my IBS (gastro whatever) issues. i see where some folks on hadit are 30% for IBS. i haven't been to a MS seminar, MS speciaist, etc, yet that didn't mention the connection of MS and gastro/intestinal issues. yet, the VA (neuro) barely will even discuss it. i asked PVA about filing the IBS/gastro claim, and they basically said why, "you're already at +100%". shouldn't i file for the IBS/gastro, if anything to at least get the diagnosis on the books? don't forget they removed its listing when they SC'd for MS. i don't understand why pva WOULDN'T want me to file considering its a real issue that messes with me frequently for the last 23 years. what say you, file?
  23. i've had PVA for some time as POA & so called advocate. recently changed POA. can a SO still advocate for a veteran if the SO is no longer POA? i ask, as i had some concerns about health care tthat PVA was checking into, and now that new POA started awhile back can PVA still advocate?
  24. agree with ThaiStick. i don't find the VAMC that good, that is, their docs would never acknowledge the civilian board cert medical doctors diagnosis. this after the VA tests came back pos i had to seek outside help just to get a diagnosis. the diagnosis certainly pointed to SC so i guess they are instructed to ignore such and try to get it labeled something else. like, "you have something, but we're not sure what it is". i had to file a claim, and reno had to agree or not. that was the only way to get the correct diagnosis on the books. which Reno agreed but they agreed in such a way i had to get a NSO to file again due to what was orginally left out by RO. these docs even tried to discredit the IMO, and civilian doctor. SO wasn't much help either, until after the fact. then of course they jumped on the band wagon. to this day, VAMC seems more bent on trying to trip one up than say, acknowledge the disease and help with QoA. guess i ruffled some feathers, and in this town/state, they pay you back, or so it seems. some of you know what i mean. they do have the good ol boy (or worse), environment here. i didn't actually realize that until i moved here. if i can get it moved and get myself moved i will do so.
