  1. Thanks tbird! I actually put 3/4 of it in a year cd and paid off some minor things with the rest (and im not gonna lie, a new tv :P) So i recieved more paper work yesterday about state park fees, property tax exemption and my base id paper work. The paper work states that i am 100% service connected with disabilities that are perminent in nature and that there are no more exams scheduled. It was nice to recieve that one! Now i just need to find more info about me kids and the chapter 35 (although there only 3 and 4 haha) and i talked to my vso but wanted to double check with u guys, he said my post 9/11 gi bill has nothing to do with the va compensation so if i wanted to take classes with that it wont effect my IU. He also said that thered a possibility of getting voc rehab for 100% vets for the sole purpose of improving quality of life. I hope this is true, because although i am 100% im just not ready to stay at home all day. Thanks again to everyone
  2. I get what u mean testvet, but i was saying im only 2 person according to my break down from being 94.5 which rounds to 95 which rounds me to 100% on my own. Its something i still have to address with my vso if its even worth it, thanks for the heads up. I also have to address smc. My paperwork is in the mail for my id and the champ va stuff and some other "state" things the lady said, just don't know what all im entilted too. I cant wait to get this to my ssdi lawyer, i got my second denial letter the other day (which he suspected was gonna happen) so it should help with a judge I HOPE haha. Ive been pretty much denied ssdi because im 25
  3. Thanks everyone! My case was actually really easy, everything was one incident related. I was retroed back to the day of separation (nov 08) and that was a question i asked the 1800 carlie was if i was p/t and the lady said no that IU claims don't get p/t but i get all the benefits of 100% (base/chap 35 for my babies/champ va for them) so i dont know where im at on all this, just really soaking this all in. Im really thankful to u guys for helping me out, its going to be a nice 26th birthday this sunday knowing this is somewhat over! I ended at a 92.5 (2 points from 100% on my own) and have some surgeries coming up so my vso thinks we can get me to 100 on my own then, i havent had much time today to get ahold of him to go over things
  4. Got the letter today! went from 80 to 90% with IU! im so pumped i feel like i won the lotto! haha. thanks everyone who has helped me on here, i know i haven't been on in a while but I didn't forget about u!
  5. When they scheduled my c and p exam i requested to have it closer (they had me going 3/4 hours away) and they said ok, i hadnt heard back in a couple weeks and called and was like wiskey tango foxtrout...then they told me it was in rating and now the paper work says that i AM diagnosed with PTSD an that they recognize my stressor but need a c and p to tie the 2...and then for my iu claim they said they had no other information for them to raise my % or grant iu (no c an p) so i sent in a nod this morning with my vso and a request for a c and p for my ptsd claim...so the wait continues
  6. yea its just the drawn out process....on a brighter note 1800 number worked for me today, told me that my claim was finalized today and should be receiving a letter soon...my nerves are shot lol
  7. Thats what ive heard..and he was pretty adimit about KNOWING we'll win at an alj
  8. yes, its very frustrating...even with my ssdi claim i was refused pretty much because im 25. i took it to a lawyer and he had me signed a paper to represent me for an ALJ...which led me to believe that it was gonna be denied again...which sucks
  9. I am currently 80% rated and have a claim that is "being finalized" as per the 1800 number..it came out of rating feb 10th. it was a claim for ptsd, a request for increase and IU... ive been out of service for a year and some change..im expecting a denial on the claim (dont know why, just the way i am) so im wonder what would be the best route to combat this? all recommendations are greatly appreciated
  10. that is pretty long for the va...i was on the same program and got discharged in nov 08 and had my first check in the middle of december.... as for the oif oef medical thing, its only at the va....u dont have insurance thru them, just free care thru them so if u arent local to one theres no help....
  11. i dont take my prozac anymore...it caused me to be depressed all the time but did help with the dreams...ive found an alternative way of medicating that isnt approved by the va lol
  12. so uplifting....im at 80% with a ptsd and tdiu claim that has come out of rating and is being "finalized" so i am ready to fight if its a denial
  13. As of feb 10th it was out of rating and being finialized...im so nervous
  14. thanks everyone, i feel really comfortable now...it was such a pain in the butt to have to do all this SSDI stuff at 25....now just awaiting tdiu (it went into rating on dec11th) hope this doesnt take years too
  15. thanks everyone, i had my appt with the lawyer today. he had me fill out an alj release since he KNOWS this is gonna get denied again and we'll get them at the judge...
  16. haha thanks guys....im waiting now...had my appt with ssdi lawyer...it felt good, we'll see which one finishes first haha
  17. Weird thing happen yesterday, after posting my last message my wife walks in with the mail and i have a letter from the va saying "sorry for the delay, ur claimis still being processed" so i guess i have alot longer to go :0(
  18. thanks for the replys, broncovet and john999: yea i know the fuzzy math by the va. i did the calculator on this site and my final math would be 94.3 haha... .7 away from being 100% (if i get it) carlie: once again, great help! i get what ur saying on the gaf score...and it makes sense. i had a c&p scheduled back in late november but they scheduled it in san diego, i live in sacramento. so i asked to have them reschedule it to a little more closer than a 8/9 hour drive. then i called again after the holidays and they told me that my claim had went into rating dec 11th. i ran this by member known as LarryJ, and he told me it could be a great sign, that when the va does this they are just submitting to giving me the claim...that c&p exams are ways for the va to find how to deny u. jerrbilly: im not rated for ptsd, this claim is my first claim for it but i am rated 80% already. my vso submitted for the ptsd (new claim) and then a (what he told me) request for increase/tdiu claim (just in case the ptsd doesnt get me to 100%) so i dont know much past that on what the papers are. thanks everyone for there help!
  19. hmm..so i should at least get 50% for ptsd? it went into rating without even having a c&p...im so confused when it comes to dealing with the va
  20. it was an 800 number, it has been in rating since december 11th. it was a claim for ptsd (i read on here someone with a gaf of 47 got 50% sc, my gaf was a 72) and a tdiu claim/claim for increase. so stressful going on month by month trying to make ends meet.
  21. I know it means they are making a decision on my claim, but is it being in rating a good thing? as in, it isnt denied or am I doing some wishful thinking?!
  22. im on prozac, perkacets and tylenol 3 and promethazine. I gave them all this it just seemed like because im 25 I got the ackward look like when I get out of my car in a handicap space and walk into target with a cane...people just look at me funny until they see my iraq veteren key chain lol
