I just got a rating from Houston VA, CP exams were completed in late July; just under seven weeks from CP exam to decision.

I've been lurking and reading here for six months, and got a rating today. Thought a report might help some worry... I filed a claim for ptsd and ao conditions on March 30 through the Houston VA, using a local (East Texas) veterans assistance officer to help with the application. I received a claim packet with request for information in early June, which I returned with a four page typed letter detailing my problems. My stressor is presumed due to CIB and others; but I had long service history and my Army medical records were retrieved by VA and were reviewed. I had a CP exam in July with a contract psych in Houston. Received a rating decision today, September 21, rating decision letter is dated September 15. Back pay was deposited by direct deposit last week (I didn't know it). Rating for PTSD was 50%, with a GAF of 55. Hope this helps others who may be waiting without a frame of reference. Overall rating is 80% with DBII and associated conditions (neuropathy and heart conditions).
