  1. Hello, I had a VA exam which included an MRI 10 days after coming off of active duty in Iraq. The MRI showed pretty bad sinusitis and so I'm wondering if I would be able to get a service connection for it as it has continued now for a couple of years. I guess the problem is that I never complained about it while I was in service and that the VA exam took place 10 days after I got off of active duty. The condition is definitely not something that just develops in a matter of a few days. Do I have a shot here at service connection, or am I out of luck because they found it just after I came off active duty? The reason I didn't put in a claim for it a couple of years ago is that I didn't know the MRI came back with the sinusitis results as I was not informed. I decided to do a FOIA request for my results recently as I need surgery now for the condition and my doctor told me I have probably had it for a while, so I was curious and wanted to see if it had showed up on the MRI and lo and behold there it was in the comments. Thank you very much in advance.
