  1. I am 100% P&T Ptsd, have been for 8 yrs. When I die, do "all my dependent" benefits cancel, including Champva, which has been a true life saver. years ago, same ?, Champva remains forever once u are 100% P&T, correct?. I am 69 yrs old. John
  2. Thanks, can the clinic doctors have any effect is you disagree with them. i hate to be "talked down to."

  3. I am 30% PTSD (2004), 100%PTSD (2009) and then 100%PTSD+Permanent and Total (2014).(Timeline) My question, yesterday had "medicine review" at the PTSD Clinic, have never missed an appointment in all these years. Dr. was "difficult" to the point he stated "there is the door, you can leave " (twice) and stated he would continue my medication as has been for last few years, which works. I was in fact somewhat rude. Medication for anxiety he said would continue was "was not" renewed" but placed on "unknown status" Can he flag a "new" C&P" or make any negative impact regarding my benefits or award? I am currently 69 yrs old. former Special Forces Vietnam. Thank You John
  4. THANKS TO ALL WHO REPLIED AS I NEEDED THIS ASSURANCE. BEING 65 AND HAVING TWO CHILDREN UNDER 12 (MINE) AND A WIFE , I REALLY NEEDED THIS. GOD BLESS JOHN
  5. Been 100% PTSD for 1 year, applied and now Permanent and Total. Am 65 yrs old My Question: Is it "unusual" to loose this status, my PTSD had worsened over the years and all is well documented. God Bless John
  6. Thanks for all the helpful reply's and will stay in touch. You Guys are great! OH! The effective date for the Permanent ant Total is Jan 2012 (date of app. for the P&T portion). should I challenge the fact my 100% was awarded 3 years ago for the benefits or just "don't rock the boat" ? God has blessed me so very much! God Bless John
  7. I recently was awarded "permanent and total" and have been 100% for PTSD for 3 years. Question: 1: On "watchdog" forum, states you must maintain 100% P&T status for 10 years, prior your death' for your dependents to continue benefits after your death. Is this true. Champva says no, if you die tomorrow the dependent benefits would continue regardless the length of your 100% P&T status. 2: Once awarded 100% P&T PTSD, are re-exams a norm. I am 64 and just can't mentally go through another C&P. 3: Wife and my 7 and 11 year old (yes "my" sons) are under a private insurance plan. Should they drop it when CHANPVA kicks in. 4: Is the percentage of veteran PTSD 100% P&T high for loosing that status. I apologize for all these questions and have searched for the "correct answers", please help guide me throuh this "jungle". God Bless John
  8. Got the letter today but a little confused. states "Basic eligibility to Dependents Education Assistance is granted as the evidence shows the veteran currently has a total service-connected disability, permanent in nature, effective January 20 2012. Nothing is said about Champva or no future exams. Are my dependents eligible for ChampVa benefits? God Bless John
  9. THANKS SO VERY MUCH AND WILL LET YOU KNOW! SHOULD GET MY LETTER TODAY OR TOMORROW. GOD BLESS JOHN
  10. Was 30% for two years and have been 100% for last three years. The application filed for P&T was Jan. 2012 (this year). Are saying I can go back to the date I became 100%?? God Bless John
  11. Am 100% PTSD and filed for it to become P&T and no further exams as of Jan 2012.( mentally, just can't take anymore C&P exams) Letter of decision is in the mail and should get it this week. If P&T is awarded where do I go to find the benefits. I am 64 and have 2 minor children and a wife. Any kind of "retro" benefits? God Bless John1
  12. yes, the current claim is for my status to be changed from 100% PTSD to "100% PTSD Permanent and Total". My age is 63. God Bless John
  13. Thanks so very much for every ones help. The C&P I just got stated " The veteran clearly continues to be unemployable due to his ptsd and depression and continues to be totally disabled from these conditions." Again, I am currently 100% PTSD and have applied for "Permanent and Total". Is this enough to get "Permanent and Total" in your opinion. I feel it is. God Bless John
