  1. I think the best thing to do is to just "wait" and then I can get needed statements or appeal or whatever. The fact is it may not be an issue. I feel I have a good claim and have been honest about everything. I really appreciate all theinput and concern. Any comments on the ssdi and last date insured issue? Thanks John
  2. Carli & All: I do not have any other illness and do receive all medical from Va. I do not have health insurance. In regards to the "competency", I will tomorrow get a statement from my therapist of four years, my personal physician (who was prior no insurance) and wife give a statement in writing "Veteran is capable of handling financial and all affairs etc:" Va has reports from both these people (threapist and physician) in the c-file for this claim already. Thanks so much and any further info is appreciated. Reference SSDI: My "last date insured" was December 2005 but I was awarded 30% PTSD 2004. Is this enough to still get SSDI. I understand if you can prove prior last date insured of disability then it may happen???? John

  4. The same examiner stated 3 months earlier I "could handle my own affairs" How much is this going to "muddy" the water to get my retro and decision, etc; Please help. John
  5. I have been and am currently 30% PTSD diabled since 2004. Filed for IU March 2009 (PTSD) due to increased severity unable to work C&P Exam (PTSD) June of 2009 C-file returned for another C&P and Examiners opinion as to iu and if could work. Attended C&P Sept for the Examiner to review and retest. Examiner stated' "As requested by the board, opinion the Veteran's symptoms are more likely than not a result of events experianced during military active duty. (He is referring to my tenure in Viet Nam combat.) Further: RO request opinion reference ability to work (IU). "Unemployabilty" Veteran is unable to return to workplace even with minimal public contact and minor supervision due to poor attention and concentration and short term recall. The veteran is not able to handle own affairs without his wifedue to poor concentration. Prognosis: Poor Recommendations: Needs PTSD medication and counseling. Also , in c-file is a letter from my personal counselor of four years, letter from my doctor regarding increased anti-deprssion meds and a VA form staing I resigned four years ago due to "inability to retain information. Please give me any thoughts as to my sucess
  6. Was 30% PTSD since 2005 and filed IU April 2009. Had a C&P May 2009 and then again Sept 14th (for review). Have not worked since 2005. C&P Examiner states 51% GAf, chronic PTSD and his opinion per board request " vet is unable to return to workplace even with minimal public contact and loose supervision because of poor attention concentration and short term re-call." Va was given from last job a , form whatever, separation notice due to " was not able to retain information". File went to review board atwo weeks ago but now thet have me scheduled for and auditory exam before adecision I guess for "tinnitus'. They had initially had scheduled this months ago but it was scheduled for the wrong clinic. Medical Physc's gave me a 50 & 50 Gaf. Any thoughts please as I am new to all this?? Thanks John
