  1. I seen about 3 different PTSD doctors my first year out the Army for my VA disability rating appointments and I was rated 50% with CIB Purple Heart 10% for my knee and two other 0%'s and was giving sleeping meds and anti depressants and didn't see another doctor for about a year and a half so then I ran out of sleeping meds and anti-depressants I never took the anti-D's so I went in to the emergency room to get more sleeping meds so the VA assigned me to the PTSD clinic and I did treatment with them for about 2 months then stopped talking to the Psychologist and talking about all the shit eating meds I never took other than the sleeping meds. In total I've been to 11 to 12 different psychologist on 16 to 17 different appointments at the VA from everything to comp evals to PTSD clinic appointments. I haven't been to see a psychologist in about 9 months other than the increase in disability comp appointment I had in OCT and I got increased from 50% PTSD 10% Knee to 100% PTSD 10% knee. But I also got arrested for disorderly conduct, got into fights with people, and got in to a fight with my boss working under the table doing lawn maintenance and the paperwork they sent me had a lot of that writting in it as to the reason I am rated 100%. You just got to explain how hard working and dealing with people is with your PTSD and you can get an increase if you try and have the proven stressors. I mean if you were a cook in Baghdad and you heard a couple of mortars your not going to get 100% PTSD but if you were a grunt with some very easily verifiable stressors you'll get a rating for PTSD easily. Do you have a CIB, CAB, Purple Heart, anything with Valor, Combat ribbon, any of that?
  2. I feel where you're coming from brother. I wanted to reup but then just said xxxx it all and asked for an increase. I think you can get a waiver for 30%. One of my bros tried to reup with 30% and they denied him but that was because he was going from grunt to pog. You should ask for an increase in benefits if you feel like things arnt changing in your favor but thats gonna bar you from reupping.
  3. From my understanding the VA interviews the person you are going to assign to handle your money and they will have to account how they spent your money later on down the road. If you don't have a person to sign your money over to they will employ someone to do it for you like a lawyer. I think the whole competency thing is just a hassle for some but for the people who really don't know where their money is being spent I think it is a good thing. I read in to it for about a week till I found out they said I was competent. I don't think being labeled incompetent is something you might want unless your bed bound, suicidal, paralyzed, that sort of thing.
  4. John in some states if you are rated incompetent you can not own fire arms. You might want to look in to that. I was having the same thing done to me that they are doing to you and I found that out. Luckily I was found competent.
  5. I was rated 50% PTSD and 10% for my knee and I went to college full time for a year. I got a friend who is 100% and takes a class every semester. My unemployment counselor is a 100% Nam vet and he works for the VA at the unemployment office and does Voc Rehab and I ran into him everyday for a semester at school. I think he got the job with Voc Rehab.
  6. I got a dealership in Michigan that gave me a price I could not walk away from... I live 2500 from the dealership and I still saved over 5K on sticker... the CTS-V Coupe you'd love

  7. Forgot to add this detail to my claim I applied for an increase back in mid April, 2009 and had a C & P appointment I think in May, 2009 that I missed and they canceled my claim then I reapplied for the increase back in October, 2009 and got a approved for an increase from 50% PTSD to 100% PTSD on January 22nd. So the VA counted the my claim started back in April, 2009. So I assume my back pay check will be from April, 2009 since the VA is counting that as my claim start date. VA did me a solid on that one if they did.
  8. yeah vync I don't even know why them incompetent morons even throw their two cents in like someone is going to listen to your behind about my firearms. Like she has the first clue on how to operate a firearm or what to do in a robbery situation makes me want to smack the shit out of them. @vperl how many hp does the V have? I was surprised how fast the Cadillac was till I got mine I guess it's the aluminum block. Does the V have the North Star 32 Valve Aluminum block?
  9. Let this be a lesson. Make sure you let the VA know that you're competent if you want to own any firearms and not be labeled in the same zip code of mentality as the VA Tech shooter. Slimy little xxxxxx. I'd like to be a prisoner doing life and run into someone of his type.
  10. got my paperwork from the VA today and the decision s 1. Evaluation of post traumatic stress disorder also claimed as depression which is currently 50% is increased to 100% effective April 29, 2009. 2. The claimant is considered competent. I guess the dumb ass lady on the phone couldn't read right or my dumb ass couldn't hear right because I swore the lady said I was considered incompetent. Damn that incompetency shit had me sad. I love the VA a little today. The VA has done me solid for a long time.
  11. The CTS-V is a beautiful piece of machine with a shit load of horse power. Are the engines aluminum too? In my book the best way to know its what a caddy is supposed to be is if you take it on the high way and you go about 75 mph and you're barely pushing the pedal to maintain speed as if you're floating on a cloud. I never drove the CTS-V so I couldn't tell you it does that my 96 Sedan Deville does with 124,000 miles on it. My baby is old but she's a MILF of a car. Why you thinking about getting the CTS?
  12. try to get my concealed weapons permit hopefully im not on the watch list.
