  1. Just wondering what this might mean on va. gov, comp and pen is showing Awaiting Release of funds- SSD and details show Attorney Fee Memo- AAFC Authorized Award (New). I use DAV as my Rep. I don’t understand SSD, is it possible the DAV signed me up for Social Security Disability? Just wondering what all this means, could be an old lawyer just trying to squeeze more money out of me!
  2. Hi, Does anyone know of a good Behavioral MD in the SE Michigan area I could consult with that is knowledgeable of VA DSM requirements and OIM letter? Thank you!
  3. Thank you everyone for your advice. I have a NEXUS showing a diagnosis of PTSD, Generalized Anxiety, and ADHD. I guess I will have to try and tie the two together for secondary? I am using "Legal Help for Veterans" so I hope I can get this moving and over with, so tired of the back and forth with appeals between the BVA and RO... Thanks again, will give update as soon as I have one!
  4. Hi All, Was hoping I could get some feedback. I just had a C&P for Gulf War Illness Syndrome. Attached are the C&P results. Kind of long, sorry. Anyway, I received the Statement of Case and was surprised to be denied on everything. Especially Sleep Apnea and Hypertension. Also have Osteoarthritis in both hips. I am already collecting 30% disability for Eczema as a Gulf War Hazard since 1998. I am currently appealing PTSD, Anxiety and Depression. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!
  5. Wow, thank you so much USMC Vet and Buck! That is very good information but seems like a pain too! But I understand if I want the VA to take notice that's what one must do I guess. What B.S. Unfortunately I've already sent in the Nexus from the M.D. Physiatrist and Psychologist stating that it is as likely as not due to my military service. My claim has been open since 2010 and was at the BVA level for Anxiety and Depression, they noted a Nexus letter for PTSD but my first C&P they did not address it. So the BVA sent back to Detroit RO to give me another C&P. I tell you, this woman didn't ask me hardly anything, I had to keep talking or I think she would have just marked it finished and closed. Luckily I've been seeing the MD and Psychologist so I knew what to say but I guess it wasn't enough, she didn't bother writing anything down anything I talked about that were triggers, only stressors. The examiner didn't even bring up depression...it was a ridiculous exam. Unbelievable. The BVA even said to give me a couple exams if needed, she didn't even bother. Luckily I've already taken several from the personal Doctor. So I'm hoping the Nexus letter will give further insight for the rater, I've heard they will take that into consideration and possibly over ride the examiner's decision? I don't think the BVA was happy with the Detroit RO with the first C & P and ask for another one so I'm surprised they are taking this so lightly. Anyway, I suppose I will just wait for a decision and/or a new C & P exam. I want to thank you for all your help. I will keep you posted on the outcome. In the mean time I really, really hope I don't have to go through all of the above to get this through the VA! Uggggg....I'm so tired of talking about it, just brings it all back up to the surface! I want it to be over. P.S. Yes, I am taking Xanax and also Adderall for my anxiety and mood and concentration. Thanks again for all your advice!! Rob
  6. Hi, Thank you for your post! I appreciate it! My personal Dr. is a MD, PC and Psychotherapist is a MA, LLP, LPC, CAAC. They wrote likely as not instead of more likely than not unfortunately because I don't think she may of understood the importance between the two. I took all kinds of tests and exams so I've just submitted as evidence. The C & P examiner did not really ask me anything, I came prepared and told her what I thought she needed to know. I can't believe that in the beginning of the exam she had marked YES for DSM-5 criteria: Does the Veteran have a diagnosis of PTSD that conforms to DSM-5 criteria based on today's evaluation? [X] Yes [ ] No But at the end of the report she writes that I do not meet DSM-5 criteria? Rationale: BASED ON REVIEW OF MEDICAL RECORDS AND HISTORY PROVIDED BY VETERAN, HE DOES NOT MEET DSM-5 CRITERIA FOR PTSD AT PRESENT I think I'm getting hood winked here?? Will the rater ask for another C & P since she did not ask me those specific questions? I answered everything she ask me! Thank you for your help and advise!! Rob

  12. Hi Everyone, I've been a member for a while but don't have the experience to reply to folks questions. With that being said, I would like to know if anyone else out there has ever had their claim go to Pending Dispatch on a Saturday and wanting to know If the AB8 letter gets updated immediately or now? If so, I am screwed again as it has not changed. Am I being too anxious? It's just been so many years and this is the first time for me to get this far and wanted some feedback as to when I should see a change on the AB8 letter before getting the official decision in the mail. Any experienced advise would be very welcomed...thank you all very much!!
