  1. I retired in Sept 09, did the BBD program in Feb 09, got my rating 18 Sep 09 at 90% submitted a few new items in Nov 09, got 100% P and T schedular in March 10 and retro from my retired pay hit within 30 days. Maybe I was just lucky. Salt Lake processes all my stuff.
  2. You are correct, if you are over 50% you get two checks. When I first retired I got 90% and was getting most of my retirement and a $2K check from the VA. Now I am 100% and get full retirement and my va check. I retired in 2009. Look up CRDP and it will explain everything to you.
  3. I am in Maryland. I did not have to get the disabled plates. The DMV told me pick your plate but it is free. Both the vehicles I own have free plates on them and I got the rear view mirror tag to use if and when I want to for both vehicles.
  4. I retired in 2009 and found out I had diabetes in 2008. I got 20% for diabetes and 10% per limb for diabetic neuropothy. They will just take a blood sample and verify your A1C at the C&P or at least thats all they did with mine plus my records while on active duty.
  5. I am retired and 100%. I get my full retirement check and my full VA Check. Nothing is offset once you hit 100%, everyone else is being phased in, 2014 it is suppose to be no offset if over 50%. You get 2 checks.
  6. I used the BDD program when I retired in 2009. I filed everything and had my C and P appointments 6 months prior to my actual retirement date. I had my rating back 15 days after my actual retirement date. It is a great program, just wish it would have came along earlier for other folks.
  7. I retired under the BDD program, I was told from the date of your leave. This was because you needed to be in the area still for your C&P exams. I liked the BDD process, I filed in Feb and actually retired after my leave on 31 July, I had my results on 13 August.
  8. To be honest with you, I'm not sure. My letter stated 10% both upper extremities and 10% both lower extremities. the PN was added in with PTSD at the same time and took me up to 100% schedular P & T from 90%. So I never looked into the bilateral as I was at 100 now and happy.
  9. From my experience it is all about range of motion. I didn't allow him to keep bending me or pushing, once it started to hurt I said that is all I could go, vs still going and hurting. Range of motion is a big factor.
  10. In short, Yes. I am 100% SC and retired, I get both checks in full.
  11. Salt Lake VA sent me a letter stating that my comp would go down due to my daughter turning 18. It gave directions to send in a school letterhead from the college she is enrolled in in the fall and her expected graduation date. Sent it in as requested got my brown envolope a month later, the increase, not decrease is effective 1 August 10. Nice increase at that.
  12. I retired last year and did pretty much the same thing. I called the GI Bill Education Number 1-888-GI-BILL-1 (1-888-442-4551). From there they gave me the number to fax a memorandum in basically saying I wanted to change how the months were distributed. Moved all months to my oldest daughter who starts school this fall.
  13. Just renewed my plates in Maryland. If you have a 100% P&T letter with you, you can select anyplate and it is gratis (free) and they told me I get the discount on both of my vehicles. I did not have to get the handicapped or DAV plate, got a Chesapeake Bay Plate and the hanging tag for your mirror.
  14. I recieved it March of this year. They back dated my effective date to last November.
  15. I just received mine about a week ago. It was the CRDP VA Offset of my retirement back to the date I was awarded 100% effective. It was a surprise, but a nice one as I had an unexpected expense come up that killed my budget and the $600 dollar credit fixed it.
  16. I would have fought it, but with the addition of my PTSD and the PN I hit 100% schedular, and was awarded P & T. Thus, it doesn't make sense for me to bang my head against the wall fighting the VA for more percentage on my feet, they SC'd for it so if anything does go wrong I am covered. Does my reasoning make sense? I can't get more than 100% right?
  17. Rotorhead, I was awarded 20% for DM II with oral meds. I was taking metformin at the time, since I have started a second pill and may graduate to injections. I have nueropothy moderate in both hands and both feet as noted in my C & P exam. They gave me 10% for upper Bilateral and 0% for feet. I thought that I got low balled on the nueropathy, but it made me hit 100% with my other SC conditions. On my HTN I got 10% for my top number being above 160. For the Erectile Dysfunction, I got 0%, I am on Levetra, but I was awarded SMC K $96 a month. Hope this helps.
  18. I received my brown envelope last week, I got the extra 10% and am now 100% P & T. Thanks everyone for all you post on here.
  19. Betty, I am not receiving Social Security as I am still working and want to continue just to keep me busy. As far as the Axis I illness I just had the C&P last month. I just checked with the FT Sill BDD office and they said everything is waiting on a rater now. The doctor said I am still employable.
  20. It took me a bit to get it at first (VA Math), but I understand it now. When I got my original rating of 90% I didn't see how they got that cause I added everything up and it was a lot more than 90%. I am shooting for that last 10% to get me to 100%, the items I have listed are the ones I asked for reconsideration for increases and new items. I am still in that "Majic Year" after retering from the Army so they said everything will be automatically SC'd. Thank you for your input, and I second the motion on your official suggestion.
  21. Yes, I am still working and still want to work. I am trying to get bumped up to the 100% rating and still be able to work as much as I can.
  22. I filed for ED they gave me a 0% rating but also gave me SMC K I think at $96 dollars. My decision letter said secondary to DM II.
