  1. They posted the results of my BVA hearing, http://www.va.gov/vetapp06/files2/0606980.txt They awarded me a 40% rating on my back and 40% on the foot drop for a combined total of 60%. My question is: during the time this appeal was in process I tripped and fell due to the foot drop and broke my leg. I filed for the broken leg as secondary to the foot drop and was awarded 10% for the broken leg. I figure the total award should be 40% + 40% + 10% for a total of 70%. Right? This hearing result is all I have received to date, no letter from the regional office. Every time I call the VA 1-800 number I get the run around. I was concerned that since I have not heard anything from the regional office that they may be trying to take away the 10% for the broken leg under some sort of pyramiding rule. What do you think? Any action I should take? Thanks, Thumper Edited to add: They also have my dates of service wrong in this letter, they list 1976-1983 and I was in service from 1973-1983 does this matter? Do I need to address this?
  2. I received a letter from BVA on 10 March saying they had ruled in my favor, increasing my comp for degenerative disk disease from 40% to 60% (combined 40% for back and 40% for right leg/foot drop). This has been a 3 year struggle. In addition while this was awaiting the BVA hearing I filed for my broken femur to be service connected as secondary to my back disability and that was granted at 10% and only took 1 year start to finish. So that took me from 40% on my back + 10% on my leg for a combined 50%. I received that letter and payment quickly. I have been patiently waiting to hear from the regional office about the increase granted by the BVA but so far nothing. I called the 1-800 # the middle of April and they told me my file was in a supervisors office for review. Called again this week and now they say it is being calculated for payment. How long does this normally take? The best I can figure this should calculate out at 70% combined. Back 40%, foot drop 40%, broken femur 10% = total of 70%. I can't help but think that the delay means they are looking for a way to !%&#@ me again. I haven't posted here much but reading what others have gone thru has helped me some in submitting my case to the BVA. Thanks to all of you!!!
  3. Thanks a bunch - Berta That got me in. Why do they make it harder than it has to be? Thank goodness for all you guys and gals at Hadit.... what would I do without you? Thumper B)
  4. I can't see it either..... all I can search is 2003 and back. My case was heard the last day of January 2006 so I would very much like to see it. Please help.
