  1. I retired in October of 2009. I received a disability rating for Meniere's disease with tinnitus-10% at the end of October. On the advice of my AMVETS rep, I filed a Clear and Unmistakable Error. I was diagnosed with Meniere's Disease in 2002. I had the endolymphatic sac shunt surgery in 2004, to no avail. I did not receive a service connected disability rating for vertigo. I have eight years of active duty service records indicating I had severe bouts of vertigo, at least 4 x's weekly. At my first VA ratings appointment, the doctor spoke to me for ten minutes. He never had me walk, and I was already seated when he arrived. He looked in my ears, asked me who my civilian doc was, and he left. That was it! His findings for my rating were that I no longer suffer from the disease. I have eight years of records that would state otherwise. My frustration is that my records did not seem to mean a thing. I am seeking 100%, as I am not able to complete a full work day, much less a full work week. I have been scheduled for another ratings appointment this week. What do I need to set these people straight? I am so stressed about this process, which isn't helping my attacks at all! Please help! Any info is more than I have now. P. S. Should my AMVETS rep accompany me to my appointment?
