  4. Congratulations! This is great news!
  5. Congratulations world_wide!!
  6. Suggestion: Try clearing you cache. On firefox simply clearing history helps when this happens to me.
  7. I've gone thru the same Hoppy. Most recently I got a phone call from the Vascular Clinic stating they had "reviewed my chart" and everything looked "fine" so they would like to cancel my annual appointment and schedule me for testing in 1 yr. as a follow up. You always get the "How are you doing?" but never get, "Have you noticed any changes" or "Have you been having any problems?" On my last visit I was told by an intern that the fact that I had lower leg pain at rest was not PAD! It all makes me wonder.
  8. Thanks...that makes me feel better. I pretty much put the whole thing out of my mind until that call. I hope you are right.
  9. I hear you! The waiting gets to you after awhile. After nearly 2 yrs. I got a phone call to set up a C&P a week ago. I got so excited. Just knowing that they were doing something with my file gave me hope. I know I've still got a long ways to go but at least it's a start. It's great to read that yours is moving forward!

    Got News

    Great job...Congratulations!
  11. Congratulations! You'll may see your retro payment in the bank account before you receive your official notification letter.
  12. Congrats! I think Johnjjr has given good advise on follow thru.
  13. I was concerned when my MH provider took me off Citalopram over a year ago, He put me on Sertraline (Zoloft). I'm doing fairly well on it. Hope the switch works out for you.
  14. Congratulations Gamorris!
  15. I've read this before...but that doesn't stop them. The VA pharmacy has always issued me oval, non-scored, enteric-coated generic Crestor & a pill cutter.
  16. For what it's worth...This is what the FDA has to say about generics: http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/ResourcesForYou/Consumers/BuyingUsingMedicineSafely/UnderstandingGenericDrugs/ucm167991.htm My wife says that the internist she worked for (10 yrs) had a few medications that he would not interchange with generics, but they were few in number. My wife had more problems keeping her thyroid medication stabilized when she switched to generics.
  17. Are you diabetic? Diabetics tend to have high triglycerides.
  18. Interesting! All of my meds have been provided without problems, including my aspirin and liquid tears, until the Fish Oil was ordered. I have a new PCP now so I'll check this out next time I go in. Thanks for the tip on refrigerating the fish oil....I'll try it.
  19. Hi John999. Sorry it took me so long to get back. I spend the day at the VA yesterday. Here's my last lab results: Total Cholesterol 152 - HDL 35 (low) - LDL 92 - Triglycerides 126 and Ratio 4.0 The Crestor has done a good job lowering my Total & LDL's. My PCP took me off Crestor last Sept, putting me on the fish oil, because I was having sudden muscular weakness & joint pain. My HDL was also dropping more than she liked. When she discontinued the Crestor she said that my vascular specialists would most likely put me back on it but she wanted to see if it was causing the problem. Since I’m not able to take the full amount of Fish Oil that was ordered, I’ve been told to slowly re-start the Crestor and watch for increased joint pain & muscular issues.
  20. Is this a normal waiting period for an audiology consult, especially when service connected for hearing loss, or is this an isolated problem only occurring at my VAMC? Any info or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks...Georgiapapa ---------------------------------------- Georgiapapa... I am service connected for hearing loss. In Oct. my PCP ordered an audiology consult because I was having increased hearing issues & trouble with my hearing aides. I went for my appointment yesterday, Feb. 17 (almost 4 months). They re-evaluated me and did measurements for new hearing aides. I have an appointment for 2 months from now to have the new hearing aides custom fitted. Every specialist consult i've had recently has taken 3-4 months to get set up. The longest wait has been for a neurologist consult for which I have an appointment in July 2012 (requested by PCP - Oct. 2011).
