I filed a claim for PTSD...I am seeing a VA Pch Doc, who has sent me to several others...all state I have PTSD...C & P says "Anxiety disorder (claimed as post traumatic stress disorder)"...someone I know says to re-submit claim for PTSD which will be a separate rating from anxiety disorder...is this true or is it the same thing???

  6. anyone know the reason for an examainer rubbing the side of your face and asking you to track a pen with your eyes during a c & p for migraine headaches.. also, can a VA doc force you into detox for alcohol abuse when you are being treated for PTSD???
  7. Im gonna call the VA tomorrow....I finished my C & P exams in May. I have requested my C file and copies of my C & P exams. I was told that a request must be sent to make copies. The copies are made and then mailed. I was also told my that file should be going to the rating board soon. Im still waiting and I started this process in October of 2009. This is my second time filing for disability.
  8. I need some advice. I wrote a letter to the VA in December 2009 about the delay in getting my benefits. I was assigned and advised by a person from the VA office in St. Petersburg, Florida, to help me with my claim. This person added two claims and scheduled them for me. I finished all of my C & P exams in April. I called my VA contact and told her. She told me that she would begin to work my file so it could go in front of the rating board. I called my contact again on May 2, 2010, to check on my claim. She only needed my medical records from my personal doctor to send my claim to the rating board. She told me that if she gets my medical records she would work my claim before beginning her vacation. I sent those back in January, but I overnight them to her via FedEx again so she could get them before she went on vacation on May 4, 2010. I called her on May 3, 2010; to be sure that she got my records. She said she didn’t but FedEx called her and would deliver them on May 4, 2010. She said that since she will be on vacation then, she will work my claim when she returned on May 17, 2010. I called her on May 18, 2010, and she had not started on my claim. She told me that my file was on her desk and that she thinks that she has everything she needs from me and that my claim was next in line. I called her again today and still nothing has been done. Is there anything else I can do because it seems my claim is being delayed? My claim has been on her desk for a month and she has not touched it.
  9. Is there a claim that may be made for compensation to the VA if you have gained weight because of a physical disability and you are unable to exercise? I have knee and back problems from being deployed to Iraq. I have gained 60 pounds.
  10. I am working at this time, for how much longer, I don't know. I was recently told by a supervisor that I am very argumentive because I would not talk to him when he wanted to talk. I didn't realize we were arguing. I told my psyc doctor that I am seeing at the VA about this incident. I have my C & P exam for this April 22nd, so I am hoping that it is favorable for me. Thx for responding to my post.
  11. Please let me know if you discover any advantages. I am also considering registering but I was released from active duty in 2004. James
  12. What is meant by proposed rules on the federal registry? I had a lot of these symptoms while I was deployed to Iraq and for some time after I returned. I still have joint and muscle pain. Is there anything I can do about compensation now, six years later? James
  13. thx for responding everyone. I'll work on getting that c-file and checking on my appeal.
  14. I filed for compensation in August 2004. I was denied with the reason being that I failed to show up for my c & p exam. I filed an appeal in November of 2004 but I haven't heard anything since. I went back to the VA in October 2009 and since October I have been receiving/going to my exams. In reviewing my paperwork for my appointments I discovered that I had a Perisan Gulf Compansation and Pension exam in August 2004. I thought this might be the exam the VA said I missed. I called the DAV who told me that it did not matter because I only had 1 year when I got denied to address it. What mattered now is when I re-applied in October 2009. Does the original appeal matter?
  15. did your friend's high blood pressure being connected to his PTSD increase his rating? I may be in the same boat. James
  16. can anyone tell me what the following diagnosis means; Axis I: PTSD, Depression NOS Axis II: deferred Axis III: see problem list above Axis IV: combat exposure, chronic pain, inadequate coping skills Axis V: current GAF = 52 I've been trying to read the threads to see if I can figure it out but I can't. I would be grateful to any help available.
